12 Signs He Has a Girlfriend

If the world of dating, the one thing you should be able to tell about a guy is whether or not he has a girlfriend. Although it’s the most important thing for you to decipher after meeting someone, it’s also one of the hardest.

It’s really hard and intimidating to open yourself up and invest time into someone only to find out that he already has a girlfriend and you’ve just been wasting all your time. And most guys don’t just outright say so because they like to flirt and they like the attention even if they’re already taken.

Some guys even have the balls to try and date someone while they already have a girlfriend! This is a really big issue that you’ll want to find the answers to immediately if you ever hope to have a relationship with someone.

1. He doesn’t answer his phone calls or texts around you.

This is a huge sign that something else is going on with this guy. If you’re around him and he looks at his phone when it rings and quickly puts it away, it could mean that his girlfriend is calling and he doesn’t want to answer it with you around. However, there are people that ignore their phones when they’re with someone they really like, so just pay attention to these other sings, too.

2. His phone is nowhere to be seen, period.

If he never has his phone out around you at all, it’s another red flag. In a world where most of us always have our phones out and on us, it’s weird when people don’t do this. This may be because he doesn’t want you to see a name pop up on his phone that would give you an idea he has a girlfriend. But he could also be hiding his phone if he just wants to isolate his time with you.

3. He avoids calling you by your name.

This is a huge sign that you’re dating someone who has a girlfriend or even multiple girlfriends. For fear of saying the wrong name, guys that are already in relationships tend to call their side girls by pet names only. If he’s always calling you, “baby”, “honey”, or “sweetheart”, and rarely says your name, it could be because he has a girlfriend and is trying not to mess up.

4. His weekends are never free.

Most people don’t work on the weekends and this is usually the time they reserve for their significant others. However, if your guy is never free on the weekends and always has an excuse for why he won’t be able to spend time with you, it may be because he can’t get away from his girlfriend in order to spend his time with you.

5. He never takes you to his place.

Are you always ONLY allowed to spend time at your place and you’ve never so much as even heard where he lives? If so, it could be because he has a girlfriend that he even lives with. Either that, or his girlfriend just has so much stuff at his place that he couldn’t possibly pass off being single and just dating you. Be aware of excuses that keep you away from his place, too. Anything like having roommates or a messy apartment is no excuse to keep you away.

6. He never brings you around his family or friends.

If you’ve been dating for a few months and still have not been around his friends or family, this could be a sign he has a girlfriend that he’s hiding from you. It’s only natural for a relationship to progress to meeting friends and family members and if your relationship is somewhat serious and you have yet to meet them, it could be for a reason.

7. Your relationship is on the down low with social media.

If he’s mentioned to you that he really doesn’t like showing his relationship on social media and therefore would rather keep you off of it altogether, he probably has a girlfriend. The truth is that guys want to keep you off social media only because they have a girlfriend that frequently posts about him and tags him in various things.

8. You go out of town for all your dates.

If you’ve never had a date in the town that you both live in, it’s because he has a girlfriend. If he avoids going out in public with you somewhere that he might be spotted with you, it’s clearly because he doesn’t want his girlfriend to see you or to catch wind that he was out and about with a different girl.

9. He never answers when you call.

This is something that’s really frustrating for you and a big sign that he has a girlfriend. If you’re not with him and he’s at “home” or wherever and he never answers your phone calls, it could be because he has a girlfriend around that he doesn’t want to know about you. Therefore, he avoids answering in case she would overhear a woman’s voice on the phone.

If you’ve been dating for a while now and he has not once stayed the night at your place, it might be because he lives with his girlfriend and obviously can’t be out all night. If he’s stayed really late to the point where any other guy would just stay the night but he insists on going home, then it’s because he has a girlfriend and can’t be out at all hours of the night or she would know something is up.

11. You smell woman products on him.

This is another classic sign that he has a girlfriend. If you notice that he always smells girly and more importantly, he smells like the SAME type of girl perfume every single day, it’s probably because he has a girlfriend. If you’re smelling familiar woman scents on him every time you see him, it’s probably getting those scents from his girlfriend and you should be wary of him.

12. You see pictures of him and some other girl all over social media.

If you happen to scroll through his social media – despite him not wanting to connect with you on it – and you see there are tons of pictures of him and some other girl that she’s tagged, it’s probably his girlfriend. This is definitely a red flag that you should be cautious of and even ask him about because it means he has a girlfriend.

Guys who have girlfriends and try to date other girls at the same time are the lowest type of people. Therefore, you want to make sure you’re not dating one of them by following these signs to make sure he doesn’t have a girlfriend while he’s dating you.
