I am not sure about that–I would imagine that it would help to hide the gray hairs, but I have not tried that look myself. Perhaps one of our other readers has a personal experience with it? Let me know how it works out, Angelina!

Hi i have dark brown almost black coloured hair, iv heen colouring my hair for many years as im almost totally grey naturally now my roots come to through in about 3 weeks hence the ever darker shade which i colour at home i look washed out as my complexion is quite pale. I was thinking of going light brown and perhaps some low or highlights? Any ideas would this help disguise the greys… And give me a younger look? My hair is a fairly long bob

Cool and dark is in periodically–I find that darker hair suits my skin better in winter, and lighter hair matches my tanned skin in summer. Go with whatever works for you, looks good and is easy to care for. If it has been a while since you had your original hair color, go ahead and try it out again! It seems to be fairly logical to assume that nature and genetics knew best, so go for it!

Lighter brown will look better with your complexion. In winter months, dark brown hair could look striking–especially if you have reddish-colored cheeks at all. If I were you, I would just choose the color that you like best. No matter what color you choose, it will take you a bit to adjust to it and get used to it. Hi, I have fair-ish skin but with olive undertones so it doesn’t look really fair and green eyes. My hair is also thick and I’ve always wanted to do something with my hair but not known what would look best. Do you have any advice? Thanks!

I had golden brown hair color as a child paired with grey blue eyes and fair cold skin. The sun would put lighter peices into it…I guess you would call it chestnut. Through the years, I have tried lots of different reds dark light purple burgundy etc. black black reds you name it. Recently, at age 54… Decided to go back to basics. I grew hair out to shoulder length accenting the wave and curl plus got it back to Chestnut with ash blonde highlights. I love it but hope it is good with pale skin… It seems easy to cover grey plus warms my pale skin. I wish I did not try the darker hair. These sites though say Winter cool and dark is in for that skin type? Clarify for me

I think dark brown or black would look striking with your skin tone. Depending on your facial features, you may be able to handle other colors as well–it is entirely up to you. Good luck, Jean Grey!
