7 Games to Play Over Text With a Guy

When you’re bored and don’t want to have a typical texting conversation, there’s only one thing to do: play a game over text messages! Yeah, that’s right. Giggle and laugh and have a blast with these 7 awesome games to play over text with a guy!

1. 20 Questions

We’ve known this game since we were little. We played it with our brother during long car rides and played it with all our gal pals during a slumber party in fifth grade. It’s 20 Questions. And it’s a classic! Not to mention it takes up a good chunk of time and will keep you and your guy interested for at least 5, 10, if not 15 minutes. Don’t make it too hard on him though, alright?

2. I Spy

Here’s another classic game that you’ve undoubtedly played AT LEAST one hundred times, and it’s always a big hit. Everybody loves I Spy! But you’re probably wondering: how do you play I Spy over text messages? By sending pictures, of course! Send this guy a text message and give him hints on what he is supposed to find. Seriously, this game is tons of fun and who doesn’t love to get pictures in their text messaging inbox?

 3. Would You Rather?

If there’s one hilarious game we all love playing with our friends, it’s Would You Rather? I mean, you can make up some REALLY crazy and funny circumstances to have your friends choose between. If you haven’t played before, it’s really easy. Just come up with two different things for them to choose: would you rather eat peanut butter off a bus bench or lick a lollipop you found in the trash can? Just silly random things like that!

 4. Guess the Character

This one is a lot of fun for a couple different reasons, the main one being that you get to impersonate somebody else for a few minutes! Send this guy some lines from a character, and he will guess who you’re impersonating. It could be a celebrity, a basketball player, even a mutual friend of the two of you!

5. Build a Story

Ok. This game is seriously SO much fun and the outcome is always hysterical. To play this game, all you need to do is send each other one word text messages that forms a story. For example:

You: The

Him: banana

You: Fell

Him: Onto

You: Your

Him: Mother

And so on and so forth. You can come up with some hilarious scenarious that will have you rolling on the floor laughing!

6. Guess the Abbreviation

I think there’s a new abbreviation in the texting world every single day, and you can’t tell me there’s been a time or two where you had to look up the latest words like “YOLO” or “WYD”. For this game, you get to come up with your own abbreviations! For example: he asks you what you’re doing. You respond with “WTD” (walking the dog). He will have to guess what the “WTD” stands for. You might need to give him a few hints, this one can be pretty hard!

 7. Silly Pictures

Okay, so this one is really silly and totally juvenile- but hey, it’s fun! Most phones nowadays are connected to the internet in one way or another. That being said, find the funniest pictures you can find on the internet and send them to your partner. They’ll get a good laugh and you can continue sending silly pictures back and forth with each other for hours! Maybe you could select a specific category to make it a little more challenging?
