From their tasty bakery items to their deliciously pressed brews, people find themselves visiting Starbucks time and time again. There is just something about that place that gets you hooked! It may be the caffeine addiction that keeps us going back, but no one will really ever know what it is. It definitely varies on a person by person basis, so we can’t pinpoint just one thing. Come on, who could with how many different varieties and options Starbucks offers their customers?

A lot of people don’t come to realize on their own that Starbucks even serves smoothies. It tends to go right over their heads. It’s understandable, though, not every average coffee shop has that desired smoothie enjoying option for you. Starbucks does, though and that rocks! Because not only are they a great, refreshing beverage, but they are also pretty good for you, too!

What is a smoothie?

The dictionary describes a smoothie as a thick, smooth drink made from pureed fruit with milk, yogurt or ice cream.

Nowadays it is more commonly seen that smoothies are made with yogurts. Whether it’s greek on regular yogurt depends on the individual or business’s preference.

How does Starbucks make their smoothies?

Starbucks definitely steps outside the traditional box of smoothie making. Although they have the textures and flavors figured out, they create the smoothie a little bit differently than most others make theirs. What sets Starbucks smoothies apart from your average smoothie is that it isn’t quite as sweet. Their smoothies are not great for satisfying someone with a huge sweet tooth. They are definitely more played down and they really focus on the fruity flavors, without overwhelming their customers with unhealthy sugars added in.

Starbucks always uses one whole banana in their smoothies. Some smoothies are made with fresh bananas while others are made with frozen bananas. Although the flavor will be much brighter with fresh bananas, you won’t usually notice a difference if your barista uses the frozen bananas available to them. If anything, the only noticeable outcome is that frozen bananas create a thicker texture to the smoothie.

Starbucks adds up to two scoops of protein powder into all of their smoothies. This addition is one of the main reasons that Starbucks smoothies are less sweet than the average smoothie. Protein powder has a very powerful flavor and although it’s not really noticeable when you are consuming your beverage, it can lessen the sweetness of the drink overall. Starbucks uses their own brand of whey and fiber protein mix powder. It has 1g of fiber per every scoop. So that means every smoothie has about 2g of fiber from the protein powder alone. You can request to put protein powder in many other drinks besides smoothies, as well.

Are Starbucks smoothies safe for the lactose intolerant or people with food allergies?

The answer is no, not really, unless you tweak your order. That is not always a guarantee either. Even though you can substitute the milk in smoothies, you cannot take the small amounts of milk out of the protein powder. However, you are more than welcome to ask your barista to avoid putting any protein powder into your smoothie.

Starbucks puts a disclaimer on their website under all of their smoothies:

We cannot guarantee that any of our products are free from allergens (including dairy, eggs, soy, tree nuts, wheat and others) as we use shared equipment to store, prepare and serve them.”

What are the milk options for Starbucks smoothies?

  • %2 milk
  • 1% milk
  • Whole milk
  • Nonfat milk
  • Soy milk
  • Almond milk

Starbucks Drink Guide https://www.herinterest.com/starbucks-drink-guide/ https://www.herinterest.com/starbucks-drink-guide/#respond Wed, 03 May 2017 21:37:06 +0000 https://www.herinterest.com/?p=32449 As much as we love Starbucks, we know that the entire franchise is a lot more complex than we would like. With how many variations of coffees, drinks and food items there are at our beloved Starbucks, we are sometimes left with spinning heads when we walk out of there. We have to decided to lend a helping hand to our fellow Starbucks goers by creating the ultimate Starbucks drink guide! This guide will let you know everything that you could possibly want to know about Starbucks.

First, we will start by discussing how Starbucks make their famous beverages around the world.

For Espresso: Starbucks has these awesome things known as automatic espresso bars. These machines grinds the coffee beans and creates the espresso shots. It is a very convenient way to do things and helps Starbucks to create a quality product, but it requires quite a bit of maintenance throughout the day.

For Coffee: Starbucks baristas use a coffee press to create their delicious coffee. It allows for more flavor in the coffee and keeps them in control of how bold they want it to taste.

For Smoothies: Starbucks blends their smoothies with top of line blending equipment.

Not everyone is a fan of milk and sadly, most of Starbucks drinks are made with some sort of milk. The good news is that you can substitute milk out with a few other options.

Milk Options At Starbucks:

  • Nonfat Milk
  • Skim Milk
  • 1% Milk
  • 2% Milk
  • Whole Milk
  • Almond Milk
  • Vanilla Soy Milk
  • Coconut Milk
  • Breve (Half and Half)
  • Eggnog (Seasonal option)
  • Heavy Whipping Cream

Sometimes we worry about our waistlines or what  bad foods we put into the stuff we eat and drink. Starbucks understands that and that is why they offer skinny drinks, such as skinny lattes.

What is a skinny drink?

When you ask your barista to make you a skinny drink, they will give you a drink with nonfat or skim milk and sugar-free syrup.

Why make the choice to go skinny? Well, just look at the difference between skinny and non-skinny below.

Grande Latte

Calories: 250

Fat: 6g

Sugars: 35g

Skinny Grande Latte

Calories: 120

Fat: 0g

Sugar: 16g

See how vast that difference is? It is safe to say that the skinny option really proves to be the healthier choice!

Drink Sizes

Starbucks seems to do things a little differently when it comes to their drink sizes. They offer a wider variety of size options than most other coffee shops. Although you are more than welcome to ask for a small, medium or large at Starbucks, they do have specific sizing terms for their drinks.

Short (8oz):

The smallest drink that Starbucks offers is a short. It does not appear on their menu, so customers usually have to request it if they want it. They do not offer iced drinks in the size of a short. Customers are only offered hot beverages if they request the short size. They use this size as a kid’s size option, as well.

Tall (12oz):

This is what they consider a small at Starbucks. It is around 12 oz and the perfect size if you don’t want to over do it on the caffeine.

Grande (16oz):

This is what Starbucks considers their medium size option. The grande is the only size available for their smoothies.

Venti Hot (20oz) Venti Iced (24oz):

A venti is Starbucks’ large size option, but it comes in different sizes depending on what type of beverage you have decided to order. If you order a hot venti of any kind, you will receive a cup of 20 oz, but if you if order a venti iced, you will receive a cup sized at 24 oz. We are not sure why they do this, but that’s the way it is.

Trenta (30oz):

This is the extra large option on Starbucks drink menu. At 30 oz, the trenta is twice the size of the amount of oz a healthy human bladder can hold. How crazy is that?! It is only offered to you if you order iced coffee, refreshers or iced tea.

Espresso is one of the biggest hits when it comes to Starbucks. They have the perfect harmony of delicious, rich flavor and enough caffeine to get you through your day. Although all of the drinks seem to hold different caffeine contents, the average amount of caffeine in one espresso shot is around 75+mg. Espresso is not great for those who don’t react well to large amounts of caffeine or those with health issues.

But to help you get a better idea to how much caffeine is in Starbucks espresso, here is a list:

Espresso Shots

One shot (1oz):

A single shot of espresso is usually called a solo and they usually hold about 75mg of caffeine in them.

Two Shots ( 2oz):

Two shots of espresso is termed as a double or a doppio. They contain around 150mg of caffeine in them.

Three Shots (3oz):

Often called a triple, three shots of espresso has somewhere in the area of 225mg of caffeine.

Four Shots (4oz):

A quad is four shots of freshly made espresso. It contains a whopping 300mg in it. Not for the faint of heart, that’s for sure.

You can request espresso that has less amounts of caffeine in them. Although it is impossible to give you completely caffeine free espresso.

One Shot Decaf (1oz)

Termed as a single or solo shot decaf, it has about 3mg of caffeine in it.

One Shot Half-Caf (1oz):

You will hear your barista call this out as a single or solo of half calf. There seems to be an average of 40mg in this shot!

Not everyone is aware of this, but Starbucks creates everything at different temperatures. And to be quite honest, customers can choose what temperatures they prefer their drinks to be at. This avoids giving someone with a sensitive palate something that may be too hot or cold from them. Take a look below to see what we mean.

Temperatures At Starbucks:

If you don’t request a certain temperature, a barista will create any drink up to 200 degrees fahrenheit.

Kids Drinks:

These drinks are prepared up to 130 degrees fahrenheit. This is done so that the kids can drink the beverage as soon as they receive it in their hands.

Extra Hot:

This is usually requested by customers who don’t plan on consuming their beverage immediately. The barista will make your drink at about 180 degrees Fahrenheit so that it will stay warm for a long time. This is perfect for people with long commutes to work.

Coffee/Tea Hot:

These types of drinks are usually prepared with water that is as hot as 200 degrees Fahrenheit.

One of our favorite things about Starbucks is the fact that they offer so many different flavors. Your taste-buds will never get bored with the never ending options list of flavors, syrups and toppings. How To Make Starbucks Iced Coffee https://www.herinterest.com/how-to-make-starbucks-iced-coffee/ https://www.herinterest.com/how-to-make-starbucks-iced-coffee/#respond Wed, 03 May 2017 20:12:18 +0000 https://www.herinterest.com/?p=32447 Without Starbucks, it can be a little more than difficult to get through those hectic days where you are just go, go, go all day long. It can be hard to function at all without any coffee in your system to keep you going. That’s totally understandable. Some of us have coffee running through our veins each and every day. Without it, we’d simply be big old useless piles of human. But sometimes our budgets just don’t allow any room for a delicious Starbucks creations. Instead we must break out our at home chef skills and see what we can do at home, without spending an extra dime. Good news! It is totally possible. You can enjoy a Starbucks iced coffee anytime, any day. The best part is that you can make it right in your very own kitchen! So, whether you need your midday cup or you’re prepping for a long night of exams, we have a way for you to keep yourself going without even needing to get in your car. Here is how to make a Starbucks iced coffee in the comfort of your own home.

What You Will Need To Make Iced Coffee:

  • 12 cup coffee press or a normal coffee maker.
  • 1lb Coffee of your choice. Starbucks uses their Kenya coffee blend, but they suggest their Willow Blend is just as good if not better! You can substitute for decaf. Starbucks sells a great decaf blend, too.
  • The pitcher of your choice. You can use a half gallon jug, a gallon jug or an iced tea pitcher. Whatever floats your boat really!
  • A measuring cup.
  • 5 ½ cups of ice. You need something to make the iced part of iced coffee come true!

What You Will Need To Make  The Syrup:

  • 1 liter bottle, with pump. It’s okay if you don’t have this, you can use a tablespoon instead.
  • 2 cups of sugar.
  • Water for boiling.

This recipe makes about a half of a gallon of iced coffee. You should not store or consume the coffee for more than a week. After a week any leftovers should be thrown out. Not only will it stop tasting as potent, but you don’t want to get sick! However, our theory is that this is going to be so delicious that this coffee won’t last more than just a few days in your fridge!

What You Need To Do:

The next steps really depend on whether you bought a pre ground coffee blend or if you have to grind it yet.

If you have to grind it:

Step One:

Choose which coffee blend you want to use. Starbucks uses their Kenya coffee blend because it has such colorful acidity and hints of fruity flavors. They claim that the more it is iced, the more prominent the flavors become. Grind your coffee well until it becomes coarse and resembles kosher salt. Starbucks says that their baristas are happy to grind your coffee before it even leaves the store, all you have to do is ask!

Step Two:

This next step depends on what type of coffee maker you are going to be using. Starbucks recommends using a coffee press, if you have one, due to it being more flavorful than if it were coming out of a regular coffee maker.

If you are using a coffee press:

Add hot water. The best brewing temp for almost all coffee, except for espresso, is 195 degree to 205 degrees fahrenheit. Bring water to a boil at the suggested temperatures and the remove from heat. Once you have removed it, let it sit for just a moment before you go ahead and pour it over your coffee. For a 12 cup press you will use 5 ¼ cups of water.

Position your plunger assembly fairly loosely on top. This will help to keep the heat in. Get a timer and set it for four minutes! This is how long you will let your coffee brew for. Position the pouring spout away from where you are and use the handle on the pot to hold it. Press the plunger down with your other hand very slowly, this will push the grounds to the bottom.

If you are using a regular coffee maker:

Measure out one cup (16 tablespoons) of your coffee blend. Proceed to pour coffee grounds into a coffee filter fitted for your coffee maker. Fill up your coffee pot to the 8 cup mark and pour into the back of your coffee maker. They say that using filtered water will bring the tastiest results! Now, it’s time to brew your coffee! Much easier than using a coffee press, but not nearly as delicious according to coffee experts.

Step Three:

Do you want your freshly brewed iced coffee more now than later? If so, pour your coffee brew into your pitcher or container of your choice and put it into your refrigerator and let it cool for up to ten minutes. After the five to ten minute mark is up, you can put your ice into the container.

Not so worried about having it right away? Put your ice into the container first and then pour your coffee over it.

There you go, now you have delicious Starbucks copycat iced coffee! Now we can proceed ahead to show you how to make your own syrup and add it to give your cold brew something extra.

How To Make Your Own Starbucks Syrup:

Step One:

Bring out a medium sized pot and start warming up 1 cup of water in it on your stove. Add in 2 cups of white sugar and stir in until it is all dissolved. You can do this best if you use a whisk instead of a spoon. A whisk guarantees a smooth product and eliminates any lumps. Try not to over-boil, because it will create a syrup that is too thick and it will crystallize more easily.

Step Two:

Once all the sugar in your water has dissolved you can now go ahead and pour into your liter bottle or whatever container you have chosen to you. Attach pump on top. It is recommended to use three or four pumps of syrup in a coffee this size.

To take a healthier route, you can use Agave Nectar in place of the classic syrup we have shown you how to make today. It tastes just as good and you don’t have to put in any extra work, because it comes premade in a bottle of it’s own. No mess and no stress!

Starbucks does have most of it’s syrups for sale every day in their shops. So, if you are really craving that cinnamon dolce syrup, you can get in your car and drive to your nearest Starbucks to pick it up right now!

Now you have all the tools and information you need to create Starbucks iced coffee from your very own kitchen, anytime! You can create your own syrup, use the store bought syrup or just go syrup free for more of a natural iced coffee flavor!

Starbucks Drinks Without Caffeine https://www.herinterest.com/starbucks-drinks-without-caffeine/ https://www.herinterest.com/starbucks-drinks-without-caffeine/#respond Fri, 28 Apr 2017 06:43:06 +0000 https://www.herinterest.com/?p=32313 Sometimes it’s just not possible to be an everyday coffee drinker. Coffee and all it’s attributes are not admired by everybody. There are people who may have medical issues that prevent  them from drinking any caffeine at all, even if they wish they could. There are also people out there who just downright hate the taste of coffee. Then there are those that just prefer to stay away from caffeine in general. That is why Starbucks offers so many different types of drinks. Luckily, there are options galore for those non-coffee lovers out there.

How to Make Starbucks Frappuccinos https://www.herinterest.com/how-to-make-starbucks-frappuccinos/ https://www.herinterest.com/how-to-make-starbucks-frappuccinos/#respond Fri, 28 Apr 2017 04:25:13 +0000 https://www.herinterest.com/?p=32305 One of the best coffee drinks in the world is the beloved Frappuccino. But where did the deliciousness start? In Boston, to be exact. In 1994 Starbucks bought a small coffee shop chain called The Coffee Connection and coined the name from one of their blended coffee drinks. They then proceed to copyright the name Frappuccino and pretty much anything to do with it. Frappuccinos alone bring in well over 2 million dollars each year. Now they list around twenty five different frappuccinos on their menu. You’ve probably heard about the new unicorn frap that blew up in the world just recently. That’s just one of the frap options that they list out of two dozen others. You will really never tire of the different Starbucks frappuccinos there are.

However, today we are only going to show you how to make a simple copycat Starbucks frappuccino, that way you can enjoy some of the finer things in life in the comfort of your own home.

Making this mouth watering drink is not as difficult as it may seem.

Starbucks Frappuccino (Copycat) Recipe

Ingredients Needed:

  • 16 oz of ice.

This recipe is for a 16 oz frappuccino, therefore you will need 16 oz of ice.

  • 1 shot of espresso.

If you aren’t feeling the espresso, you can substitute with 1-2 tablespoons instant coffee or 2-4 tablespoons double strength brewed coffee.

  • ¾ cup of milk.

You can use any substitute for milk that you’d like. You can even substitute the milk in this drink with one scoop of ice cream, ¾ cup sweetened condensed milk or ¾ cup heavy whipping cream.

  • 2 tablespoons vanilla soft serve ice cream/vanilla smoothie mix.

Don’t have that available? That’s okay, you can use sweetened condensed milk, cream or ice cream in it’s place. Otherwise you can add ½ pack of vanilla pudding powder. Sometimes even 2 tablespoons of maple sugar will do the trick. It’s ultimately your choice which one you want to use. But remember to only pick one option! This acts as a thickener and it is what gives frappuccino their signature texture.

  • Any other toppings you would like to add.

Directions:

Now to get to the fun part- Making the drink! You will be so glad you did after you try the first sip of this refreshing blended drink on a hot day.

Step #1.) Start by brewing some fresh coffee. Starbucks tends to use a very concentrated brew when creating this drink. They do that because it’s easy to blend a bitter coffee taste in a frap with its many other flavors. That is why people are welcome to use espresso if they choose, because the bitterness will be covered up and you’ll still get all that wonderful perks of espresso. Once the coffee is brewed, you will want to wait until it cools down to at least room temp. You can put it in the fridge and chill it instead if you would prefer.

Step #2.) Decide whether you want your ice blended or if you’d rather have your frap over ice. If you want it blended then go ahead and get out your blended. Put the fresh coffee or espresso into your blender and then put the rest of the ingredients needed in afterwards. Blend until until smooth. Want to go for the over ice option? If you picked this one, it means you can leave your blender alone. Just put ice into a container in which you will be able to shake or mix them altogether. Just stirring would work if you do it for a prolonged period of time. However, it’s much easier to blend if you shake it rapidly and with force. Put your ice in a cup and pour the mixed ingredients over.

Strawberries and Creme Frappuccino Recipe

Ingredients Needed:

  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream.
  • 1 cup of fresh strawberries or frozen strawberries.
  • 2 tablespoons strawberry syrup.

No syrup? Perfectly fine, just use 2 tablespoons of strawberry jam instead.

  • ¾ Cup milk or milk substitute.

It’s always okay to substitute milk in frappuccinos and usually they’ll turn out just fine. Just keep in mind with the this frap, you want a thicker texture to really get the creme part of the strawberries and creme. So the thicker the milk the better.

  • 16 oz of ice.

Directions:

Step #1.) Blend all ingredients in blender.

Step #2.) Enjoy!

Caramel Frappuccino Recipe

Ingredients Needed:

  • ½ Packet of Starbucks iced instant coffee.
  • 1 cup of ice, 2 if you prefer it thicker.
  • 3 pumps of your frappuccino base.
  • 2 pumps caramel sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon caramel syrup. ½ if you like it less sweet.
  • Caramel drizzle.

You can use caramel sauce for this.

Directions:

  • Step #1.) Put base, syrup, sauce, ice and instant coffee into blender.
  • Step #2.) Blend.
  • Step #3.) Put into desired glass and drizzle caramel on top.
  • You can add whipped cream if you’d like!

For an over ice caramel frap instead, blend all ingredients in blender or shake in a container and pour over ice.

Mocha Frappucino

Ingredients Needed:

  • 2 pumps frappuccino roast syrup.
    • ¾ Cup whole milk. You can choose the milk of your choice for substitute.
  • 16 oz of  ice.
  • 2 pumps of mocha syrup or powder.
  • 3 pumps of frappe base.

Directions:

  • Step #1.) Brew your desired coffee. It’s recommended for a stronger and better mocha flavor that you use 1-2 shots of espresso instead. However, it’s up to you to decide. Otherwise you can use 1-2 tablespoons instant coffee.
  • Step #2.) Add your milk or milk substitute.
  • Step #3.) Add the frappuccino base next.
  • Step #4.) Add 16 oz of ice.
  • Step #5.) Add your mocha flavoring.
  • Step #6.) Blend and enjoy!

Chai Creme Frappuccino Recipe

Ingredients Needed:

  • ¾ Cup whole milk or milk substitute of your choice.
  • 2 tablespoons of chai concentrate.

You can most likely find this at any Starbucks store. There may be a few online retailers that sell it, but you’d have to do some digging to find out.

  • 16 oz of ice.
  • 2 pumps frappuccino base.
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla soft serve ice cream/vanilla smoothie mix. (Optional thickener)

Directions:

  • Step #1.)  Start by putting your milk in first.
  • Step #2.) Add in the chai concentrate.
  • Step #3.) Add your ice.
  • Step #4.) Add the thickener you choose, if you choose to add thickener at all.
  • Step #5.) Blend and enjoy!

Vanilla Bean Creme Frappuccino

Ingredients Needed:

  • 16 oz of ice.
  • ¾ cup milk or milk substitute.
  • 2 scoops vanilla bean ice cream.
  • 1 teaspoon sugar.
  • ⅛ teaspoon vanilla extract whipped cream.

This is optional, but it definitely makes it taste so much better!

Directions:

Step #1.) Blend all the ingredients listed until smooth, except the whipped cream.

Step #2.) Put into desired glass and top with whipped cream.

Step #3.) Enjoy!

Everything You Need To Know About Starbucks Lattes https://www.herinterest.com/starbucks-lattes/ https://www.herinterest.com/starbucks-lattes/#respond Fri, 28 Apr 2017 02:12:10 +0000 https://www.herinterest.com/?p=32297 Starbucks is one of the leading coffee chains there are around the entire planet. In 1971 Starbucks opened its doors in Seattle and ever since has been building an empire every single day.  It has over 16,000 stores open worldwide, has around 254,000 employees and grosses well over 10 billion every year. How cool is that?

Not only is Starbucks taking over the world’s coffee drinkers, it’s really, really, REALLY delicious.

From their delicious bakery items to their unique drinks that never stop interchanging, they are one of the best places to go for specialty coffee. Hands down.

But what really sets Starbucks apart from other coffee chains? What makes their specialty coffee so dang special? Why does the average Starbucks drinker visit the store at least six times monthly? Why do 20% of them go 15+ times a month? Those are all great questions. It’s because Starbucks never fails to deliver on the composition of the drinks they serve. Especially when it comes to their lattes.

A latte is technically described as espresso in steamed milk with foam placed on top. Breaking down a latte seems easy, but Starbucks baristas have their own way of assembling the classic espresso drink.

Why do they use steamed milk?

Steamed milk helps aerate the milk and creates a much sweeter, creamier taste.

So how do they make their amazing lattes?

Starbucks claims that they start by taking the finest coffee beans from Latin America and Indonesia. They blend them and roast them until they get their Starbucks Espresso Roast. Which is what they use for the lattes we drink on the regular. They usually use about 14 grams of the beans and grind them in an espresso machine. They say you have to be careful about how you grind your beans. If you do it too fine, you will end up with a thick and bitter outcome. If it is ground too coarsely, it will turn out weak and very watery. Neither of those are good options for the perfect latte! You will want to grind your beans somewhere right in between.

After you grind the beans to the perfect texture, you will need to use filtered hot water and pressure to create an espresso extracted between eighteen to twenty three seconds. This is done at Starbucks in their espresso machine.

This will create a smooth, sweet and caramel like espresso. You should use it right away so that you don’t lose any of the flavor. This means you should grab your steamed milk as soon as your hands are free!

Starbucks uses 2% whole milk unless a request is made by the customer to use something else. So, it is up to you which milk you’d like to stream and use for your latte.

Types of milk Starbucks offers for their lattes:

  • Nonfat/skim.
  • 1% milk.
  • 2% milk.
  • Whole milk.
  • Breve (½ and ½).
  • Heavy cream.
  • Vanilla soy.
  • Eggnog (seasonal only.)

Once your milk is steamed it will create the foam that you will use, too. Not everyone likes the foam! But, most latte lovers do. If you don’t, they do give customers the option of going without the foam or just doing light foam. After you decide on that, you will pour your steamed milk into your freshly made espresso. The two liquids will mix together and at the end the foam will naturally appear at the top.

To achieve an iced latte is not that much more difficult.

You will need to skip steaming the milk and instead let the milk remain cold. You will pour your cold milk into your espresso and then add a scoop of ice. The lines on the cups they use for iced lattes help the baristas measure how much milk to put into your drink. They will usually fill it up to the top line. Then they will add ice in the rest of the way. You can always ask for less amounts of ice. If you do that, they will add more milk in place of the ice. Iced lattes don’t really do the idea of a latte justice, but they sure are good on a hot summer day!

That is how Starbucks does their lattes and how you can do yours, too.

Now that you know how they make a classic Starbucks latte, you are probably wondering what the right measurements are that make each latte perfect.

We don’t blame you for being curious! It can be tricky to know just how much of this and that to use in their amazing drinks.

Amount Of Espresso Shots By Size:

  • Short- Hot Only (8oz): 1 shot of espresso.
  • Tall- Hot or Iced (12oz): 1 shot of espresso.
  • Grande- Hot or Iced (16oz): 2 shots of espresso.
  • Venti- Hot Only (20oz): 2 shots of espresso.
  • Venti- Iced Only (24oz): 3 shots of espresso.

That’s all you need to know if you want a simple, plain latte from Starbucks. However, sometimes you just need a little more flavor in your life! That’s why Starbucks has so different options for you. You’ll never get bored with their menu.

What’s on their menu for lattes?

  • Caffe Latte: It’s a very simple and plain latte.
  • Cinnamon Dolce Latte: They add cinnamon dolce syrup to their delicious steamed milk and espresso to create this yummy drink. They also add whipped cream and the dolce sprinkles to this one, if you want them.
  • Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte: Sugar-free cinnamon dolce syrup, steamed skim milk and espresso. Whipped cream and toppings still optional.
  • Flavored Latte: A basic latte, espresso and steamed milk, but with a flavored syrup added in.
  • Skinny Flavored Latte: Basic latte, sugar-free flavored syrup and steamed skim milk.
  • Vanilla Latte: Steamed milk, espresso and vanilla syrup.

What a great selection, right? And the best part is that if you aren’t feeling any of their regular lattes, you can swing for the flavored latte and make the drink into whatever you are truly craving. Starbucks offers several different types of syrups that you can add to their drinks!

Different syrup flavors offered at Starbucks:

  • Caramel.
  • Hazelnut.
  • Vanilla.
  • Cinnamon.
  • Toffee Nut.
  • Peppermint.
  • Raspberry.
  • Classic.

Now that you have a flavor in mind, it’s time to put a little something extra on top of your drink to make it really special! When we go to Starbucks, we expect a treat and that is exactly what they tend to give us. Their toppings options are amazing!

Toppings offered at Starbucks:

  • Flavored whipped cream: This is more a seasonal thing. They don’t always offered flavored whipped cream at all times. But at certain times you can catch them with chocolate whipped cream or even gingerbread flavors during the holidays.
  • Whipped cream: Normal whipped cream, but definitely still delicious.
  • Mocha drizzle: It’s literally the same syrup they use to flavor a mocha drink.
  • Molasses drizzle.
  • Italian roast drizzle.
  • Cinnamon.
  • Caramel drizzle: Caramel sauce that’s used to make macchiatos.
  • Nutmeg: The grand spice itself.
  • Chocolate powder.
  • Vanilla powder.
  • Caramel brulee topping: Caramel candy that has been broken up for a topping.
  • Pumpkin spice: The wonderful spice itself, commonly used in their famous pumpkin spice lattes.
  • Caramel crunchies: They are exactly what they sound like.
  • Chocolate curls: Dark chocolate shavings only around certain times of the year.
  • Dolce sprinkles: Cinnamon and sugar sprinkles.
  • Sea salt.

How to Make Starbucks Matcha Green Tea Latte https://www.herinterest.com/how-to-make-starbucks-green-tea-latte/ https://www.herinterest.com/how-to-make-starbucks-green-tea-latte/#respond Thu, 27 Apr 2017 22:00:13 +0000 https://www.herinterest.com/?p=32289 As much as we all love Starbucks, we know that some of their drinks spike up our calorie count by a ton. We may feel a little guilty as we take the last sip of our Caramel Dolce Mochas, because we know we might not be making the absolutely best decisions for our bodies. But it’s sooo freakin’ good! How can we stay away? Well, fortunately for you, there are ways to enjoy a beautiful Starbucks drink and be slightly healthy while doing it. So, what is this magical healthy drink we speak of? One word: Matcha.

What is matcha?

You are probably wondering, what the heck is matcha anyways? What’s so great about this weird looking substance? Matcha is a fine powder ground from green tea. But, it isn’t  just any green tea. It comes from a specially grown and processed type of green tea. Making matcha one of the best and most pure types of green tea there is out there. Usually you can find matcha in a powder form and it can be used for several different things. It’s been blowing up lately because people are discovering how beneficial matcha is and just how tasty it can be. It’s used in teas, mochas, lattes, cakes, ice creams and is even made into chocolate. How cool is that?

What are the benefits of matcha?

Remember we mentioned that matcha is super beneficial? We weren’t lying. There’s a few different reasons that this should be considered a power food.

  • It’s high in antioxidants. Matcha can provide up to five times more antioxidants than your average antioxidant filled foods. Antioxidants are great for boosting your skin, growth and overall health. Matcha specifically carries an important antioxidant called epigallocatechin gallate, a.k.a EGCg. This is known for having properties that help consumers fight cancer!
  • It’s great for giving that good old memory a boost and helping you have clearer concentration. Matcha has something called L-theanine in it. L-theanine is an amino acid that is known for helping you produce more dopamine and serotonin. Therefore boosting memory, concentration and making you feel more calm overall.
  • It burns calories. Just like the green tea drink, matcha boosts your metabolism and in turn burns up a ton of calories. It’s said that matcha helps burn up to four times more calories.
  • It strengthens your immune system. Because of the nutrients and vitamins matcha has, such as vitamins A, vitamins C, calcium, potassium and iron, your immune system will become stronger every time you consume it! So, if you feel a cold coming on, get drinking these matcha drinks a.s.a.p!
  • It brings down your cholesterol and your blood sugar. The cholesterol lowering property baffles scientists to this day. They aren’t really quite sure why matcha has such a positive impact on lowering cholesterol levels, but studies have shown that people who regularly consume it have lower cholesterol in general. It also lowers the risk of heart disease.
  • It’s great to use when you are detoxing. Because of the chlorophyll that’s left over in matcha leaves when it’s grown, it becomes great at removing toxins and metals from your body when you consume it.
  • It gives you a great energy boost. This is great, because you don’t need to worry about it affecting your usual coffee drinks or slowing you down at all. Matcha is derived from green tea and green tea is a natural stimulant. This is due to it’s natural caffeine content, as well as other energy providing nutrients.

Where can you find matcha?

Your local grocery store should carry it. If not, it is really easy to find online. Even Amazon sells it!

Now that we have discussed all the great reasons why you should be using matcha in your latte, let’s get down to how to go about doing so!

Ingredients That You Will Need:

  • 1 tablespoon of Matcha Green Tea Powder.
  • 1 Cup Of Whole Milk
  • 1 or 2 tablespoons of sugar, depending on your sweetness preference. You can also use a packet of Splenda or a packet of your preferred sugar.
  • Ice. Enough to fill ¾ of your cup.
  • Whipped Cream or Toppings. (Optional.)

What You Will Need To Do To Make An Iced Latte:

  • Heat up 2 tablespoons of water or bring it to a boil. Add matcha powder and your sugar into hot water and mix until dissolved.
  • Get a glass and add ice to ¾ of your drinking glass.
  • Add 1 cup of whole milk or milk of your preference into glass over the ice.
  • Stir in your matcha/sugar mixture.
  • Add whipped cream and/or toppings on top if desired.
  • Enjoy your drink.

What You Will Need To Do To Make A Hot Latte:

  • Use a pot and fill with 1 cup of whole milk or your preferred milk choice. You could also use a milk steamer, if you’d rather.
  • Keep on low to medium heat and bring milk to a simmer, do not boil. You may risk burning the milk or evaporating too much of it if you boil it.
  • Add sugar.
  • Add matcha.
  • Mix until both have dissolved into the milk.
  • Add to your drinking glass.
  • Top with whipped cream or toppings of your choice if desired.

How To Repost Videos and Photos On Instagram https://www.herinterest.com/how-to-repost-a-video-on-instagram/ https://www.herinterest.com/how-to-repost-a-video-on-instagram/#respond Fri, 03 Mar 2017 23:08:57 +0000 https://www.herinterest.com/?p=31593 There’s nothing better than sharing something we adore with our friends and family on our timeline’s whether it be on Facebook, Instagram or even Snapchat. But Instagram makes that especially difficult for us, as there isn’t an option to ‘repost’ or ‘share’ directly onto our feeds that other people can see. Although we can share anything we want when we take a video and photograph, we don’t have the option to share other people’s awesome content with our plethora of followers. That can be extremely frustrating at times. But, there’s no need to let that get you down! There are plenty of other ways you can get around Instagram’s no repost problem. We’ll guide you through what works to help you start reposting immediately!

Option 1: Screenshot

This is the simplest and easiest method to repost if you’re in a hurry. All you need to do is figure out how to screenshot something on your phone. Screenshotting is when your phone captures the current image on your screen and saves it to your gallery or camera roll. Usually this can be done by pressing your home button and your power button simultaneously. However, not all phones use the same button combination to screenshot. The best thing you can do is look up your phone’s way of doing so. After you snap the screenshot you can go ahead and upload the content right onto your Instagram.

Option 2: Repost For Instagram

If you’d rather download an app instead of using screen capture that’s A-OK, too! Downloading an app will save you the time of saving and uploading a picture. It’s much more convenient. Repost For Instagram is an app that can be found in the Itunes Store or the Google Play Store. It’s been reviewed at a 4.6 on apple products and a 3.9 on android ones. Definitely not a bad review for either. This app lets you repost while still accrediting the original poster. Pretty neat, huh? All you need to do is click download and you’re all set to start reposting at any time.

To use it you just copy the link of the original post and then you let Regram do the rest of the work for you. As easy and sweet as apple pie!
