There are some pretty amazing movies due out for 2017, but we’re taking a peek at the kids behind the characters, rather than the movies themselves. There are some shining stars out there right now, as shown by these 20 hot young teen celebrities in Hollywood 2017, but remember to shout out your favourites in the comments below if you feel we’ve missed anyone out. We definitely recommend keeping your eyes peeled for this little talents though …

1 – Asa Butterfield

It was at just nine years of age that British actor, Asa Butterfield first started his acting career, but back then it was in a drama for British TV, called After Thomas. That was in 2006, and he’s achieved a lot more since then. In 2008, he was picked to play the lead role of Bruno in The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, and he won awards for his performance, despite being just 11 years old. Some of you also may remember him as playing Norman in 2010’s hit, Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang.

2017 will see the release of two movie starring Asa Butterfield, The Space Between Us, also starring Gary Oldman, and Journey’s End, also starring Paul Bethany and Sam Claflin.

2 – Bella Thorne

American actress, Bella Thorne, is just 19 years of age, but she’s achieved quite a lot throughout her career so far. In 2003, she appeared in the movie Stuck on You, appearing alongside Matt Damon and Cher! There have been many more movies since then, and she has also branched out into television. 2006 saw her joining Entourage for one episode, and it was in 2007 that she received her first recurring role, in the TV show Dirty Sexy Money.

There are no fewer than six movies set for release in 2017 starring Bella Thorne, meaning she’s been a very busy girl indeed. Amityville: The Awakening promises to be a scary watch, if you’re into that kind of thing, but we’re also quite excited for Midnight Sun, also starring Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son, Patrick. You should also keep your eyes peeled for Keep Watching, The Babysitter, You Get Me, and The Death and Life of John F. Donovan. So many movies!

3 – Leo Howard

Not just an actor, but a martial artist and a model also, Leo Howard has been doing his thing in the acting world since he was just 7 years of age. He appeared in one 2005 episode of Monk as “Little Karate Kid”, and he’s since branched into movies also. Just a few you might spot him in, include G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, Logan, and also Conan the Barbarian.

For the record, Leo Howard is always a keen animal lover, and in his free time likes to volunteer at local animal shelters. Doesn’t that make you just love him even more?

4 – Amandla Stenberg

Some of you may remember Amandla Stenberg better as Rue in The Hunger Games, but she has actually been in show-business since the very young age of four. Back then it was for Disney, modeling and other photo shoots, but she also popped up in a few commercials too. Her first movie was in 2011 – Colombiana – and she played the part of the young Cataleya in that. There have been a few more to watch out for since then, of course, but there’s one movie in 2017 that we recommend you keep your eyes peeled for – Everything, Everything, a drama-romance film.

5 – Jacob Tremblay

A Canadian child actor, Jacob Tremblay is just 10 years old but is still one of the hot young teen celebrities in Hollywood 2017. He first found fame in small TV paperances, and then went on to make his movie debut in the brilliant The Smurfs 2, released in 2013. The 2015 movie, Room, however, was the film that made Jacob a real star. He was nominated for a string of awards for his part of Jack Newsome, and he won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.

2017 is set to be a really good year for Jacob Tremblay, as is 2018. He has two movies coming out this year – Wonder and The Book of Henry, and then two further films for next year too – The Death and Life of John F. Donovan, and The Predator. He is currently filming the latter, the fourth in the Predator series of films, and the movie will also star Olivia Munn and Boyd Holbrook.

6 – Joey King

17 year old American actress, Joey King, is very well known for her part in Romona and Beezus, in which she plays Ramona Quimby, but she’s had quite an impressive career in both TV and film. She’s still so young, but she’s appeared in TV shows such as The Suite Life of Zack & Cody (her first TV appearance), Entourage, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Ghost Whisperer, New Girl, and even American Dad!

There have been a string of movies across her short career also, from her first in 2007 – Reign Over Me, to her most recent one in 2016 – Independence Day: Resurgence. 2017 will see the release of three movies – Going in Style, Wish Upon, and also Zeroville. There’s also one movie for 2018 also – The Kidding Booth.

For someone so young, Joey King sure has been busy!

7 – Alex Wolff

At just 19 years of age, Alex Wolff has had quite the successful career, finding fame with his brother, Nat Wolff, in The Naked Brothers Band, which ran for two years starting in 2007. Not just an actor, Alex is also a composer and a musician, and the two boys also released music – soundtracks – alongside the TV show.

Alex has since moved into movies after having such great success in TV, and you may have already spotted him in classics such as My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 in 2016, or his first movie in 2011 – The Sitter. 2017 will see the release of two films starring this young actor, My Friend Dahmer, and also Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the sequel to Jumanji. With Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Nick Jonas, it promises to be a really good watch!

8 – Olivia Holt

This 19 year old singer and actress is known for her work on the Disney Channel, but it was in theatre productions that she first came across her acting talent, and her love for it too. At just ten years of age, Olivia started appearing in commercials for TV, and some of which you may have seen – Littlest Pet Shop, for example, as well as Mattel, Bratz, and Hasbro.

There are three movies due out this year for this young starlet, and they include Status Update, Same Kind of Different as Me, and also Class Rank. You might be interested to learn that Same Kind of Different as Me also stars Renee Zellweger, and also Angelina Jolie’s father, Jon Voight.

9 – Emjay Anthony

He’s just 13 years of age, but don’t be fooled by his youngness – Emjay Anthony is already a pretty big name in the world of Hollywood. That’s because of appearances in movies such as Bad Moms in 2016, alongside The Jungle Book, and he was also in The Divergent Series: Insurgent too.

2017 is another good year for this young actor, and one movie is due for release. This is called Replicas, and will also star Keanu Reeves. The science fiction / thriller promises to be a pretty good watch!

10 – Mackenzie Foy

She might just be 16 years of age, but Mackenzie Foy is both an actress and a model, and you may remember her pretty young face from The Twilight Sage: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and 2. In that she plays the daughter of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen, Renesmee Cullen. She’s also appeared in the 2013 movie, The Conjuring, and in 2018, you will also spot her in a movie called The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. It will also star Keira Knightley, Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren, so you know it’s going to be a really good watch.

11 – Jaden Smith

He’s the son of Will Smith so you always knew he was going to be in the limelight, and he’s also one of the hot young teen celebrities in Hollywood in 2017. As well as already appearing in really amazing films such as The Pursuit of Happyness, After Earth, The Karate Kid remake, and also the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still, he’s branched out into fashion, and also reportedly dated Kylie Jenner for a while. Plus, we’re always going to be secretly envious that Will Smith isn’t our dad!

12 – Auli’i Cravalho

She’s just 16 years of age but Auli’i Cravalho has already made somewhat of a mark in Hollywood. It was in the Moana movie from 2016 that she shot to fame, and her career is now finding its feet. She’s starred in a few TV pilots, so we’ll need to watch this space for what happens as a result of that. It’s called Drama High for NBC, in case you were interested.

13 – Zachary Gordon

He’s been acting since the age of eight, so Zachary Gordon is no newbie to the world of Hollywood. He’s a well-known actor now, for both TV and film, and it’s his role in Diary of a Wimpy Kid that really made him a household name. He played Greg Heffley, the main character.

That’s not the first thing he’s done either, nor the last. In fact, his first TV role was in How I met Your Mother, and he’s also appeared in Desperate Housewives and 24, and popped up in movies such as Four Christmases. 2017 is set to be a good year for the young actor, and he’s going to star in The Gettysburg Address, also starring Matthew Broderick, Cary Elwes, and a host of other well known Hollywood names.

14 – Ariel Winter

At just 19 years old, Ariel Winter has done her fair share of acting, and you may remember seeing her in TV shows such as Modern Family. In that she plays the part of Alex Dunphy, but her TV credits extend far greater than that. She’s been in ER, Criminal Minds, Nip/Tuck, Bones, Monk, and more.

Ariel’s filmography is just an impressive, and she’s starred in movies such as Over the Hedge, Horton Hears a Who!, Speed Racer, and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. In 2017 she was appear in two films – Dog Years and Smurfs: The Lost Village.

15 – Gage Munroe

18 year old Canadian actor is more of a voice actor but these days it would appear that he’s branching out. He’s already been spotted in a few movies you may have seen – Pirate’s Passage from 2015, for example, or Immortals in 2011. 2017 will see the releasee of one movie – The Shack – and it will also star Sam Worthington, Tim McGraw, and Octavia Spencer.

16 – Elle Fanning

You may recall the name, and that’s because Elle Fanning is the younger sibling of Dakota Fanning. It was in Super 8 from 2011 that Elle made a name for herself, but she’s received multiple nominations and awards for various parts over the years. In fact, you may remember her from Daddy Day Care in 2003, Déjà Vu in 2006, Astro Boy in 2009, and also more recent hits, such as Maleficent, 20th Century Women, and The Neon Demon.

2017 is going to be a really good year for this young Hollywood star, and there are four movies set for release starring her. Keep your eyes peeled for Mary Shelley, How to Talk to Girls at Parties, The Beguiled, and also Sidney Hall.

17 – David Mazouz

16 year old David Mazouz is better known for his TV appearances rather than his movie roles, but we predict big things for this talented young actor. You may recall seeing him in shows such as Criminal Minds, The Office, Major Crimes, Touch, and also Mike & Molly. In 2017, he’ll be appearing in a TV film, but as we’ve said – we predict very big things for his future! Watch this space …

18 – Maisie Williams

An English actress, and one that turned 20 just a few days ago (so we’re going to let her stay on the list) is Maisie Williams. She first appeared on our TV screens in Game of Thrones in 2011, but she’s become a very big hit. So much so, in fact, that she won a string of awards for her part in the brilliant TV show, and went on to have a recurring role in Doctor Who.

19 – Ty Simpkins

He’s just 15 years of age, but fame doesn’t phase Ty Simpkins any more. He’s been acting since he was a very young boy. In fact, his first TV appearance was at just three weeks old, and he had roles waiting for him when he was born … Isn’t that crazy?

Much more recently, you may recall spotting this young actor in the 2015 hit, Jurassic World, and he’s also starred in Insidious, and the sequels, and has also popped up in The Nice Guys, Iron Man 3, and War of the Worlds. For a 15 year old, he sure has been a very busy lad!

20 – Willow Shields

It was The Hunger Games that first shot Willow Shields to fame, and you may recall that she played the younger sister of Jennifer Lawrence’s character – Primrose Everdeen. Since her appearances in the movies, she’s gone on to appear on Dancing With the Stars, and has also popped up in a few more movies too. It’s the 2017 movie, Into the Rainbow, that we’re quite excited for.
