How to Make Your Nails Dry Faster

Painted nails are just oh-so-beautiful, aren’t they? But the pain of waiting around with your fingers separated and stick straight waiting for them to dry can be a HUGE pain- especially when you’re short on time! Instead of sitting like a stone for several minutes waiting for those beauties to finish, why not try some of these unique ideas on how to make your nails dry faster? They’re easy- seriously so easy you’ll wish you’d have done them sooner.

Blow on Them

This is the first tip because, well, I’m sure every woman has tried this method. But if you don’t have time to try out any of the other tips on this list, this is always a sure-fire way to ensure your nails dry faster even when you are in a rush.

Apply a Thinner Coat

One big reason why nails may take forever to dry is simply because there is WAY too much polish. To stay away from endless minutes of drying and some unsightly smudging, try using a thinner coat the next time you do your nails. A thinner coat will dry faster and look a lot neater in the long run.

Use a Fast-Dry Top Coat

Some nail polishes on the market are specifically designed for this annoyance! Instead of sitting around waiting for your nails to dry or doing some nifty trick, simply toss on a fast-dry top coat to your nails and you’ll be ready to go.

Stick Your Hands Outside

On an unusually hot day, use the outdoors to your advantage. Place your hands directly under the sunlight so they can use the heat of the sun to dry them faster. On the other hand, if it’s an incredibly chilly day outside, you can also use nature to help your nails dry faster. The cold weather can also help to dry your nails quickly, especially if there is some wind to enhance the drying process.

Use a Blow Dryer

Blow dryers aren’t just a life saver when it comes to gorgeous hair; it can also be used to speed up the drying process on your stunning new nail polish! Simply hold the blower a few feet away from your nails and go to town. In just a few short moments you’ll be stepping out of the house with some beautiful babies that are perfectly dry and ready for anything that come their way.

Stick Them in the Freezer

Some people may tell you to stick your hand in a bowl of ice cold water to dry your nails faster, but let’s be honest- that’s a whole lot of work and a whole lot of time. While that method DOES work, it’s time consuming. Skip the water and stick your hands straight in the freezer. Yes it will be really cold, but your nails will dry incredibly quick, and that’s well worth the ‘pain’ of the intense cold of the freezer.

Spray Cooking Spray on Them

Yes, I’m sure you’re scratching your head right now trying to understand why I just told you to spray cooking spray on to your beautiful nails, but girls I’m telling you- this method for drying your nails faster actually WORKS! Take out your preferred cooking spray and spray a little bit all along your nails. Leave the spray on for two to three minutes before washing off your hands. What’s the end result? Nails that are totally dry and looking fabulous. It couldn’t be any easier than that, could it?

Buy a UV or LED Nail Dryer

If you’re absolutely sick of waiting for your nails to dry and don’t want to fuss around with any blow dryers, cooking spray, or freezers, then your best bet would to simply purchase your very own nail dryer. These nail dryers are specifically designed with either UV or LED lights that quicken the drying time of your nails amazingly. Simply stick your fingertips into this tiny little machine and after a few minutes your nails will be completely and perfectly dry with little to no chance of smudging or any other terrible occurrences that can happen soon after your nails are ‘dry’.

You would be surprised how cheap nail dryers truly are, so it may be the right decision for you if you simply want your nails dry and dried FAST.

Soak in Baby Oil

In your head, you’re probably imagining a nail disaster; I mean, sticking your freshly painted nails in baby oil is sure to cause some smudging, weird coloring, and WHO knows what else, right? WRONG. Girls, don’t knock it ‘till you try it! Sticking your hands in a bowl full of baby oil is a super easy way to make your nails dry faster. And not only will your nails be ready to go, but you’ll get the added bonus of super soft hands thanks to the oil. (Let’s face it- beautiful nails look ten times better on some feminine, super soft and succulent hands!)

 

No longer do women have to worry about their nails taking forever to dry. Yes, there’s some rather crazy ideas on this list (the cooking spray and baby oil is definitely not the ‘norm’) but at least they are all guaranteed to work. So what are you waiting for?
