The Devil Wears Prada (And in Meryl Streep’s case; Botox too!)
She’s well known for her acting roles over the years. In fact, Meryl Streep, the 64 year old American actress, has not only starred in some of the most iconic films of our time, but has also played her part in the world of TV and theatre too. Her first professional stage debut happened back in 1971 when she starred in the show The Playboy of Seville. From there she moved on a TV movie in 1977 called The Deadliest Season, and not long after in the same year, she made her first film debut in Julia.
With a string of roles under her belt, she can proudly be known as the actress that has received more nominations than any other in both the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards. In fact, she has been nominated by 28 Golden Globes, winning 8 of those along the way plus 17 nominations in the Academy Awards, bagging herself three of those. In short, this stuff is impressive.
She was born in New Jersey on June 22nd, 1949 and although she’s no “Spring Chicken”, she certainly looks amazing for her age.
It would be hard to believe that Meryl Streep has had plastic surgery work and this is mainly because she came out and spoke very publicly; giving her views on the topic that causes so much controversy. It was back in 2008 that the public reports came about. She had criticised both male and female members of Tinsel Town for going under the knife. Surely this righteous woman hasn’t undergone celebrity plastic surgery herself? That would be a tad hypocritical, right?
For a woman well known to be publicly dead set against surgically enhancing your looks, embracing the whole concept of growing old gracefully like so many others have failed to do, there are a few rumours circulating that might suggest she has had a little nip and tuck here and there. She’s 64 years old you must remember – there are going to be certain signs of ageing that you must expect at this age. There are the wrinkles around your neck that should have started to appear. There are also the crow’s lines around the eyes from all those years of laughing. The little lines around the lips are often associated with lipstick bleeding as you get older with age, and you may find that there are deep-rooted wrinkles in the forehead from all those unwarranted frowns. Life takes its toll on you and nobody can defy the naturally occurring ageing process without a little help, right?
The thing is when you take a closer look at Meryl Streep’s face, there ARE common signs of ageing and although they are minimal and well-masked with natural looking makeup, you can still see them. You can see that there are wrinkles in her forehead, around the eyes and along the cheek bones. She has that look of lipstick bleeding around her mouth; not a lot to be fair but enough to suggest she hasn’t had any work done. She DOES have ageing signs. Maybe she is dead set against plastic surgery as she publicly comes out to say?
Looking closer at Meryl Streep and we personally think that she has left herself to grow old au natural. She looks a million bucks for a woman of her age; it just goes to show that you don’t need celebrity plastic surgery to still look good. Well done woman – you look incredible!
