1. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Pamela Anderson Blonde-Bombshell Pixie Cut

Hairstyles for women over 40_01

We’re used to seeing Pamela Anderson with long, blonde tresses but very recently the 47-year old actress went for the chop well and truly and lopped off most of her hair! She looks so glamorous with the Sharon-Stone replica cut, and you could pull this off too if you have delicate OR large facial features. You shouldn’t opt for a look this short if you have a strong chin or jawline however – it might end up making you appear more masculine.

This look is super easy to take care of band suits almost all hair types – you literally wake up in the morning and throw some gel or wax through it. There’s no need for straightening, curling tongs or anything like that. Plus you can even achieve the tousled look just by messing things up with your fingers.

2. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Debra Messing The Fiery Redhead

Hairstyles for women over 40_02

Let’s face it, opting for a fiery red look can be somewhat overwhelming when you’re over a certain age, but the fiery red hair showed here by Debra Messing is such a beautiful shade, it would be a shame not to have tried it at least once in your life.

You will need to take into account that red hair does take quite a bit of maintenance and regular re-colouring, but you can achieve a multitude of looks with it, and cover a multitude of sins. You don’t need to worry about those greys when they are a fiery red colour, do you?

This look has been achieved on Debra Messing by plenty of backcombing to the roots, and then the ends of the hair have been pulled in and pinned, with the crown of the head lightly tousled with the fingers to give it some volume!

3. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Gwen Stefani Great Gatsby Inspired Hair

Hairstyles for women over 40_03

We still can’t believe this woman is over the age of 40 because she looks simply stunning. Her blonde bombshell look has been cut short over the years, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have any options when it comes to styling.

A tight curl is achieved using either small bendy rollers or thin curling tongs, but if you have fine hair, you will need to use plenty of firm hairspray to keep the look in check.

4. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Dannii Minogue Pixie Cut

Hairstyles for women over 40_04

The ‘other’ Minogue sister is another classic example of a woman that rarely gets her hair wrong and with this adorable pixie cut, you can show off her beautifully chiseled cheekbones, and beautiful big eyes. If you’re a fan of your eyes, side swept bangs such as this is the perfect way to show it off, and the pixie cut with short-back-and-sides tends to work better on heart shaped faces. If you’ve got a particularly long face or a large forehead, you’ll need less volume and fewer products, and if you have a rounder face, something that adds a bit more volume on top is the right look for you.

That’s the thing about short hair – with very few products and tools, you can achieve a multitude of looks. Is it time to go shorter?

5. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Faith Hill Long, Big Bob

Hairstyles for women over 40_05

This is verging into longer length hair here, but again, is a great way to carry on that growing-out process if you’ve undergone the chop recently. Debra Messing shows the perfect way to wear medium length hair and with a few scattered layers thrown in with the beautiful caramel highlights, it frames her rather square face.

The waves are easily achieved with a large round brush with some hairspray lightly thrown in or good measure, and you can easily use a large barrelled curling iron to get the look too.

6. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Laura Wright Short & Shaggy Bob

Hairstyles for women over 40_06

If you’re growing your short hair out, this is a great in between style. Set the parting just off the centre and you help to slim a rounder face, but on Laura’s oval face, a bit of volume and some highlights look just fabulous.

The hair has been layered to add thickness to the hair, but this look can be achieved with both thick and fine locks. Just brush it as you dry it, and add some serums to the ends and you are good to go. It’s nice and easy!

7. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Thandie Newton Medium, Straight & Side-Swept

Hairstyles for women over 40_07

Thandie Newton is new to the 40-club but this 41 year old beauty isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. The heart shaped face really suits the straight, simple style, and the side-swept bangs help to slim down that enlarged forehead.

The look is a very simple one to achieve. You simply give the hair s parting slightly off of centre, sweep the bangs across your forehead, straighten ands finish with a glossy serum. Thandie has slight layers around her face in this picture, but if you have a rounder face shape, leaving these layers out will help to lengthen the face, rather than make it appear rounder.

8. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Shania Twain Super Log & Extra Glam

Hairstyles for women over 40_08

She might be 48 years old now but Shania Twain is still one hell of a hottie. Just look at her beautiful, long, gleaming mane in this picture. She’s a prime example of how you CAN pull off longer hair over the age of 40 and for that, we salute her!

You can achieve this look with some good quality hair extensions if you don’t already have long hair, but if you have naturally long and wavy hair, this look is perfect for you. Just add a bit of plume with some mousse, and let the hair dry in large, heated rollers and you have about the right look for the length of the hair. The front of the hair can be easily flicked out using a large barrelled curling tong, or even a round drying brush.

9. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Charlize Theron Super Short Cut

Hairstyles for women over 40_09

This bombshell has undergone quite the transformation recently and just like Pamela Anderson, has decided to go for the chop is a very big way. A side parting gives your short hair just enough volume here, and once again, there’s no need for any special equipment to take care or style the cut. A bit of texturising cream rubbed through the ends will give you the spiky look, or you can comb it down for a more sleek effect.

It’s any-time hair, for any hair type!

10. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Jennifer Connelly Wavy, Side-Swept Medium Hair

Hairstyles for women over 40_10

We love this look on Jennifer Connelly, 43, almost as much as we love her with glamorous red-carpet hair. It’s rocky, edgy, and just that little bit too cool, isn’t it?

She’s got a layered bob here, falling just above the shoulders. This look has been achieved with rollers and some finishing serum, persuading the hair over to one side before going over it all with a wet-look gel. It’s a rocky look and needs to be paired with quite the woman – are you up for the challenge?

11. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Pamela Anderson Long, Bombshell Bouffant

Hairstyles for women over 40_11

We know that this is the second time that this blonde bombshell has been not he list but we feel that she deserves a second shot for this amazing hair. To be honest, it’s a bit bigger than what most people would have the courage to wear, but it just goes to show how easy a bit of volume can be achieved.

This is a good look for many different face shapes – you can just change the shape and size of the curl around the face.

The pouf at the top is achieved with a bit of backcombing, some dry shampoo, and some setting spray to hold everything together. Easy, peasy!

12. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Halle Berry Layered Razor Cut

Hairstyles for women over 40_12

Let’s be honest about this, Halle Berry, 47, never gets her hairstyle wrong, does she? We’ve never seen a style or cut on this woman that we haven’t positively fallen in love with, and the layered razor cut she went for recently really was stunning.

It’s been razor cut in a geometric way, allowed the side-swept bangs to cover just one eye. It’s a great way to show off delicate features, and if you’ve got pretty awesome cheekbones, this is a great cut for you.

Hair straighteners can be used here to give the top of the hair a super sleek look, or use them in a curling motion to give the hair some definition. You could even fake a mohawk style here for a more up to date and edgy look. A bit of wax warmed between the fingers is all it takes to give it a bit of definition.

13. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Nicole Kidman Whimsical Waves

Hairstyles for women over 40_13

The good thing about the whimsical waves that Nicole Kidman, 47, rocks is that they can be created with any number of hair lengths. If you have longer hair, tie it up and tuck it under, leaving plenty around the sides to soften the face. If you have short hair, just pin the hair back and leave longer sections at the front hanging down.

It doesn’t matter what you do with the back of your hair, whether you choose a French knot, scraggy bun or smooth chignon, but with a bit of backcombing and some volume powder added at the roots, you can achieve thicker hair styles. It’s easy, breezy to look at, and just as simple and fast to recreate. It can also be used to flatter a large number of face shapes!

14. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Amber Valetta ‘Stand-Out’ Bangs

Hairstyles for women over 40_14

Amber Valetta has only recently joined the 40-club, but she did it with a bang with this very short look. The blonde highlights work great on the bangs that have been started much farther back on the head than most, and it’s a great look for her diamond / triangular shaped face.

Bangs do require some maintenance so you will need to expect regular washing, and also using things like hair straighteners to get a look this sleek. It’s also a look better suited to those with fine hair. Heavy hair might not hang quite so delicately around the face.

15. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Jennifer Lopez Long, Loose & Latino

Hairstyles for women over 40_15

Would you believe that this Latino lovely is 45 years old? Look at that healthy head of hair… That’s the one thing she’s most desired for, isn’t it? Well, that and her butt, of course!

This look is one that does take a fair bit of maintenance. After all, not many girl can get hair that straight without the help of some hair straighteners. Caramel highlights through a light brown/dark blonde is the look that this lovely has gone for here, and even if you have one-tone hair, don’t ever forget the power of a few lighter coloured extensions thrown in for good measure.

16. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Catherine Zeta-Jones Modern Farah-Fawcett Flicks

Hairstyles for women over 40_16

She’s such a beauty, isn’t she? Even now at 44 years old, she still rocks it like a professional. Her hair here just screams sophistication and Hollywood glam, and can easily be achieved with a large barrel curler used all over the lower half of the hair. Keep the parting simple and in the centre, and add some additional curls around the face to frame it, and you have the perfect look. Just make sure that you keep it all in check with some heavy-duty hairspray if it’s going to be a good night.

This is a look that can suit many face shapes. Catherine has quite an oval shaped face, but with looser, longer curls, it could even frame a square or round shaped face too.

It’s one of the easiest looks there is for long hair in your 40′s!

17. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Kate Garraway Blunt Bangs

Hairstyles for women over 40_17

The British TV presenter has had her fair share of hairstyles over the years, but we think this one is a beauty and is perfect for many women over 40. Sticking with the theme of bangs and we think that Kate’s are to die for. Although  not many of us can pull off a look quite this severe, but if you’ve got an oval-shaped face, you can definitely rock it!

It’s going to take some work to keep things sleek, and just like Amber’s ‘stand-out’ bangs, you’ll probably find that hair straighteners will become your best friend, along with the hair dryer and large barrel brush to give it that slight curve that looks so great.

18. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Kylie Minogue Casual, medium rolled hair

Hairstyles for women over 40_18

Using a large barrel roller, you’ll easy recreate this casual Kylie style, and if you have medium to long length hair, it’ll only take ten minutes or so in the morning if you roll with large sections of hair. You can add a centre parting to help round-out the oval, narrow face that Kylie has, but a side parting could be easily added if you have a rounder or squarer face.

This look is designed to be simple and free, so the fewer hair styling products you use, the better. You might find that some mousse can help the curls to stick in fine hair, but if you have thick hair already, this look will be a breeze.

19. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Kelly Ripa Short & Sweet Hair

Hairstyles for women over 40_19

Kelly Ripa debuted her short and sweet hair cut on the Live With Kelly and Michael show, and it’s quite different from the blonde waves she wold normally be seen sporting.

Cut just below the chin, this is the perfect haircut for those with square faces, and the curves added with a curling iron help to soften the jawline. With a centre parting, the look is very daytime chic, but with side swept bangs thrown into the mix (very easy to achieve!) you add a dramatic touch to a simple short and sweet haircut.

20. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Heidi Klum Wispy Bangs

Hairstyles for women over 40_20

Ask your hairdresser for wispy bangs like Heidi Klum, 41, and you’ll never think about having a facelift or Botox to get rid of the wrinkles ever again. The light and wispy bangs are shaped to frame her eyes, and the simple and light hair cut help to tone down that beautiful chiseled jawline.

Anyone with a square face shape can pull of this very simple look. Blonde hair with a few darker blind / light brown high lights, a wisp face-shaping set of bangs, and a very simple, mussed up ponytail. With the right set of earrings like Heidi, the look is instantly glammed up.

21. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Jennifer Aniston Straight, Layered, Long Hair

Hairstyles for women over 40_21

It’s a good look, isn’t it? Let’s face it, Jennifer Aniston hasn’t put a step wrong in the hair aspect of life ever in her life. She gets it even better now she’s in the Big 40-club, and the even better news is that this is one of the easiest hairstyles to achieve, especially if you have fine and wispy hair.

She’s had a few layers thrown in, and some caramel and blonde highlights to add more depth to thin and fine hair. Her chiseled jawbone works well with the face-framing layers, and with a bit of volume backcombed into the back of the crown, it’s a look that just takes a few minutes to get right. You don’t even need to use your hair straighteners if you dry your hair while brushing it with a paddle brush at the same time!

22. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Naomi Campbell Power-Woman Bob

Hairstyles for women over 40_22

We already knew that Naomi Campbell, 44,  was a power-woman and if her latest haircut is anything to go by, she knows it too! This looks just screams a woman in control, and the longer bangs really do her heart-shaped face justice.

You’ll need to straighten the hair a lot to get this look so when you add your finishing serum, make sure that it is one that pumps moisture back into the ends of your hair. The bangs will take fairly regular maintenance to stop them being annoying and getting in your eyes when you go for the longer styles, but if you love to play up your eyes, they might just be the perfect thing to work hand in hand.

23. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Rebecca Romijn Short, Sharp (but Softened) Bob

Hairstyles for women over 40_23

The haircut that Rebecca Romijn rocks is primarily a sharp, short bob, but with a careful flick of a curling iron, you have a look that is both feminine and sophisticated.

The good thing about this look is that it takes barely anything to achieve. Simply grab a few of the outer tendrils of hair and wrap it around tongs or a curling iron for a few moments before setting with strong hairspray, and you’re pretty much on your way. If you blow your hair upside down too, you’ll also add more volume to thinner hair types.

24. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Brooke Shields Long Straight & Wavy

Hairstyles for women over 40_24

This look is better suited to those with long, thicker hair but if your hair is quite fine, a few well-placed layers will help to thicken things up.

Brooke Shields, 49, has quite a square face shape just like Minnie Driver and Demi Moore, which means the long layers really helps to soften the face somewhat. A big round brush will help to cause the massive waves at the bottom of the hair, and you should blow-dry your hair upside down to give it a much-needs boost of volume. The side-swept bangs also helps to keep the look romantic.

25. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Lena Headey Grown-Out Pixie

Hairstyles for women over 40_25

The pixie cut was all the rage recently, and a lot of women over 40 are looking for a way to grow the look out, without it looking to shabby.

Lena Headey, 40, gives you the perfect example of how a pixie cut should be grown out, with longer bangs pushed over to one side, and tousled waves throughout the bottom of the layered ends. With a bit of styling wax and a round brush to help the shape when drying, this look is easily suited for both daytime and nighttime events, and the right amount of make up will make the difference between the two. Tone down the eyes during the day and, just as Lena Headey has here, play up the eyes for a great dramatic look!

26. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Minnie Driver Long, Tight Curls

Hairstyles for women over 40_26

When you have such a square face shape and rugged jawline as Minnie Driver has, getting a feminine and romantic style can be hard work, especially when you get above a certain age. This 44 year old sure shows you how to do things in style however, and she shows you how to do natural glam with these tight, long curls.

Her hair has been scrunched with a curling activator spray or gel and left to dry natural. a wide-tooth comb will help you to get rid of any knots, and some wet look gel will then help to keep things in check throughout the day. It’s natural and simple – the perfect thing for a such as strong face shape!

27. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Jenny McCarthy Graduated Sharp Bob

Hairstyles for women over 40_27

We simply adore Jenny McCarthy’s, 41, new bobbed look, and it’s a real edgy look for a woman with personality! You could try this look with many colours too – Jenny rocks the bombshell blonde, but this would look great in brunette and red tones with the right complexion.

Jenny has a strong jawline with a long face, and the chin-length cut really helps to break things down. The side parting helps to soften the look, and there are slight layers added to the ends to give it a bit of volume. Throw in some volume powder and give it a good rub through the hair when styling and you’ll get the oomph in the roots like you see in the picture here.

28. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Christina Hendricks Little Red Bob

Hairstyles for women over 40_28

Red is a colour that suits ladies of a certain age and just like Christina Hendricks has here, the little red bob might just be the perfect look for you.

Everything is very soft and floaty with a softly cut bob with razored layers at the end, and the bangs have been left a tad longer and directed to one side to romanticise the look.

The ‘Lob’ or long-bob as people better know it as, is a really easy to maintain hairstyle thats both super fun and effortless to play up or down. You still have enough length to chuck it back in a cute little ponytail, yet you can curl it with the help of barrel curlers and a bit of hairspray, pin it up with bobby pins, leave it straight and sleek with a finishing spray, and more.

29. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Sandra Bullock Sweeping, Polished Hollywood Curls

Hairstyles for women over 40_29

This look just screams with Hollywood – it would appear that Sandra Bullock always gets it right.

If you have long and medium to thick hair, this is a look that will work perfectly for you. The preparation work is the most important part of getting this look right. When the hair is still wet, you will need to add plenty of volume-boosting products, and you’ll need some sort of gloss-based product in order to keep it in place. With either medium or large curling tongs, simply curl it to the side, making sure the back of the hair is sleekly slicked in the one direction, and set everything with hair spray. If you can hide a couple of grips in the back of your hair before the curls start, you’ll thank yourself for it later!

30. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Cate Blanchett Deep Parting, Brushed-Out Vintage Curls

Hairstyles for women over 40_30

Thin hair will make this look a breeze so if you’re one of those woman that can’t seem to find volume, this is the perfect look. For medium to longer length hair, large-barrelled curling tongs or large heated rollers will help you to achieve the large waves in this look – you simply pull them into a side parting, sleek down the top with some finishing product, and brush the curls out to give you this vintage-curl look that is so hot in Hollywood right now.

Cate has quite the pronounced forehead and an oval face shape so if you have a rounder to long face, this is a great look for you. It does have a tendency to make round faces look rounder so if this is you, make sure you keep the look a bit longer.

31. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Cameron Diaz Short Bob with Side Swept Bangs

Hairstyles for women over 40_31

Cameron Diaz has been rocking perfect short hair for so long, we’ve almost forgotten about that hair faux-pas in There’s Something About Mary. Rocking a similar layered chin-length bob around her square face, the tousled bangs pushed to one side help to even up that bigger forehead, and the laters surrounding her face (easily achieve with a hair dryer and a round brush) really add a little something extra to the already beautiful actress. She has also managed to pull off a similar dark in a much darker colour too, showing that some cuts really can work in various hair shades.

32. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Jenna Elfman – Flipped Out Bob

Hairstyles for women over 40_32

Jenna Elfman’s flicked-out bob looks really simple to create, doesn’t it? That’s because it actually is! That’s one of the best things about short hair – everything is so much easier to maintain.

This cute bob doesn’t need to be curled but it sure adds a little special something to the look. A good curling tong will help you out here, and it’s well worth adding some hairspray to set things nicely. It’s a hairstyle that will suit a multitude of face shapes but if you have a rounder face, take things a little longer than chin length to stop rounding off the face even more.

33. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Selma Blair Dark, Long Hair With Full Bangs

Hairstyles for women over 40_33

This is a look that not many people can pull off but as Selma Blair, 42, shows, if you do it right, you can still rock the look!

The hair has been dried and given a once-over with some glossy spray but aside from that, the look is relatively natural. It’s meant to mimic that early 70’s rockstar-groupie look, and with the heavy bangs, she does the look a lot of justice.

The hairstyle itself is rather overpowering but if you have a diamond face shape just like Selma and other fellow actress Liz Hurley, you can pull it off because the defined cheekbones help to give it some stability.

34. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Emilia Fox Windswept & Wavy

Hairstyles for women over 40_34

The reason we loved this Emilia Fox hairstyle was because of how versatile it is. You can achieve this look with any length of hair too. If it’s short, you simply pin it back. If it’s long, you circle it round into a small chignon, and then pull out sections of the front to muss things up a bit.

If you have longer hair, you will find that this look is easily achieved by curling the top layer of hair first. Shorter hair can easily be tousled with fingers and finishing wax.

Better suited to oval face shapes, this windswept and wavy look is easy to achieve, and easy to maintain, in all number of shades of colour too.

35. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Teri Hatcher Flicked-Fringe Bouffant Bob

Hairstyles for women over 40_35

It’s been given the names by professionals and when you see it, you can understand why! It’s grown up and mature, but the chin length bob sure does work better on the pretty oval face of Teri Hatcher, 49.

The bouffant, blow out style is achieved by blowdrying your hair upside down, and adding plenty of volume-boosting products. You could also wear it sleeker by straightening it, although the bigger style adds something extra to a long face.

36. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Alanis Morisette Long & Left Alone

Hairstyles for women over 40_36

Another starlet that we couldn’t believe was in the 40-club but Alanis Morisette shows you how to do things the hippy, grungy kinda way.

Her hair is relatively thin, and her face long and oval shaped. Left alone with just regular trims, your hair could look just as good, and with this amount of length, there are plenty of ways to dress it up should you need to. Even on lazy days you can throw it back in a high ponytail with some bronzer to accentuate your great cheekbones!

37. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Robin Wright “The Sharon Stone”

Hairstyles for women over 40_37

The first thing we thought when we saw this Robin Wright short, sleek style is that it reminded us so much of Sharon Stone! It’s a look that many, many women over the age of 40 can rock, and with the lack of maintenance, it’s suitable for any type of woman.

The look can be tousled up or sleeked down, and with the right amount of finishing serum can look instantly glam like it does right here.

One of the best things about short hair like this is that you can often skip washing it for a day or so with a quick spray of dry shampoo! It just makes perfect sense, doesn’t it?

38. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Marisa Tomei Laid-Back, Pull-Back

Hairstyles for women over 40_38

This is one of the best looks for women over the age of 40 because of how simple it is. It’s a look that can be adapted to suit many different face shapes and various hair types. Here it appears that Marisa has thin hair so with the help of a bit of backcombing volume has been added to the crown.

The rest of the hair has been pulled back to allow for beautiful eye makeup and some pretty impressive earrings. It’s a great hairstyle to put together with an outfit with a flashy neck or top design too.

39. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Sarah Jessica Parker Wavy, Ombre Long Hair

Hairstyles for women over 40_39

She’s the Queen of style… Haven’t you seen Sex in the City? She’s the girl that always gets it right and with every single one of the hairstyle she’s rocked over the years, we’ve fallen that little bit more in love.

This look is our favourite Sarah Jessica Parker look so far. The 49 years old actress and fashionista has gone for one of the most in style looks the year, and given it that little bit of a mature spin to make it more acceptable.

The darker roots look natural and clean, and the grown-out bleached blonde looks effortless. With the help of a braid overnight, your damp hair could easily drive into these large-curled waves, and if you’ve got thick hair, you’ll probably find that a tiny bit of hairspray is all you need to finish it off.

40. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Kristen Wiig ‘Big Transformation’ Bob

Hairstyles for women over 40_40

What is it with celebrities cutting all their hair recently? It seems like everyone is having a go at the bob again. Kristen Wiig is just one in a long line cutting off their tresses, and just like you could, she’s nailed the look completely.

She has completely transformed herself from the girl with the wavy-blonde locks in Bridesmaids, to the short browny-red flicked out bob you see today. We’ve found the easiest way to achieve that little flick is with your hair straighteners and some hairspray, and the rest of the hair is kept relatively natural, making it a breeze to maintain.

Just ask for a choppy chin length bob when you go to the hairdressers, and get them to throw in razored layers on one side of your bangs too. You’ll need a good dry-end serum to keep things looking this sleek.

41. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Monica Bellucci Medium Bangs

Hairstyles for women over 40_41

This sex symbol is 49 years old but that still doesn’t mean that she’s passed it, which she very much shows in this amazing hairstyle.

The look is very simple – a one length cut either medium or long, with eye-brow skimming bangs that have been cut into to thin them down ever so slightly.

She has a long but rounded face which means that the bangs are just soft enough to help frame her face perfectly, while the long length around the fact helps to think any chubby cheeks. This look is super easy too but does need regular washing – greasy bangs are not a good look.

42. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Gwyneth Paltrow Loose, Low Bun

Hairstyles for women over 40_42

Gwyneth Paltrow has a classically sure shaped face which means longer lengths framing the face really help to soften off those square edges. She tends to suit long, sleek and straight hair better because once again, it helps to thin down the face, and this is exactly the look she has achieved here.

Straightening irons would have been used to flatten the hair, and the majority of it has been pulled back into a lazy, loose bun at the nape of the neck. Longer tendrils have been pulled forward at the front, and with the right amount of sheer makeup, this has the potential to be either very casual or very smart, deepening on what occasion you need it for!

43. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Salma Hayek Ombre Highlights

Hairstyles for women over 40_43

We can hardly believe this stunning Mexican beauty is 47 years old but she sure shows you how to rock a hairstyle like this with style.

Her thick, long hair has been curled using a large barrel tong, and the whole thing has been set with a very natural hairspray. To get the free-flowing locks here, you need as little in the finish and hold product department as possible.

She’s had caramel and dark brow ombre highlights added in here which is quite unusual – most people would have gone for a lighter blonde!

44. Hairstyles for Women Over 40: Julia Roberts Mid-Length, Wearable Updo

Hairstyles for women over 40_44

50 Best Side Swept Bangs http://www.herinterest.com/50-best-side-swept-bangs/ http://www.herinterest.com/50-best-side-swept-bangs/#comments Tue, 20 May 2014 14:59:16 +0000 http://www.herinterest.com/?p=14224

Side swept bangs can be a great addition to any look. You can style them near countless different ways, making them a great choice for any occasion, and you’ll be pleased to know that depending on how they’re cut they suit almost any face shape! You can have them cut and styled so they look delicate or heavy, long or short, you can have them dramatically sweeping across your face or even simply go for the subtle look. I know some girls who love to hide mysteriously behind their side swept bangs while others love wearing their bangs short while still going for the side swept look. It really all comes down to personal taste and what will suit you best on a day to day basis. Not all styles are formal enough to pass off in the workplace while others only suit the workplace. Seeing as not all styles suit every occasion you ought to keep this in mind when choosing a style – it’s likely that you may even want to pick a few styles or one very versatile style to best fit your needs. That said, here are fifty great side swept bang hairstyles, enjoy!

1. Rihanna Side Swept Bangs: Styled High

0cfdc17e3eaf4e4935ccb6810263108e

Here Rihanna is wearing a gorgeous long pixie cut but instead of letting her side swept bangs drape over he face she’s styled them so they sit up high before sweeping back behind her ears. This is a fab look as it shows off all of hr face instead of hiding it. This look works best for those of you with slim face shapes such as oval or hearts. Another great thing about this look is that it’s very versatile and you can wear your hair like this whether you’re heading out on the town or simply going to work for the day. The only downside is that you have to set your alarm clock five minutes earlier every day as this style isn’t the easiest one to master in a hurry.

2. Sophia Bush Side Swept Bangs: Long with a Zig Zag Parting

0fefd10e367fb07d4043886a7768a4a8

I used to thing that you could only have side swept bangs if you had a side parting, something that really annoyed me as that’s a look that simply doesn’t work for a lot of people. Thankfully however, that myth is far from true and you can easily compromise be wearing a zig sag parting to give you the best of both worlds as Sophia Bush has done. She’s wearing her bangs long so they sweep across her eye, a look that is great for partying however if you’re heading off to work you may need to clip your bangs back out of your face.

3. Hilarie Burton Side Swept Bangs: Curl Crazy

1a4cc8750b2c4766d686fb75546231e8

There’s no hard fast rule that says bangs have to be straight and sleek. In fact they can be anything but and yet still look amazing as Hilarie Burton proved year after year when she starred in One Tree Hill. She rocked the classic perm look and even had her bangs permed, making for a fantastic stand out style. This is a great look for absolutely any face shape and any occasion so why not take the plunge and ask your stylist for a perm?

4. Cameron Diaz Side Swept Bangs: Long and Flicked

3ff0bb9399eeff68f62bff3d06faf7ae

Here Cameron Diaz is wearing her side swept bangs long so that they reshape the look of her face. To save her look from becoming dull however she’s subtly added a flick to the ends of her bangs using curlers, something which is in complete contrast to her tucked under bob, which really adds an edge to her look. Again, this is a great style for work of play however flicked long bangs don’t work for every face shape, they look best on round or square faces.

5. Sophia Bush Side Swept Bangs: Gentle Curls

4d0d474204bb881187055c3636f780c6

Sophia Bush is once again rocking her side swept bangs and this time is still wearing them long but has gently curled them to add a bit of texture to her look. This takes her look from plain to exciting with just a sweep of her curlers. This is definitely more of a ‘play’ look and sadly likely won’t pass for long days at the office. If you’ve got a heart shaped face then this hairstyle is for you!

6. Cameron Diaz Side Swept Bangs: Long and Highlighted

4fa30e145b0b8575815bcb9d34b3bb80

Cameron Diaz’s style here is pretty iconic when it comes to side swept bangs and you only need to look at her to understand why! Her long sweeping bangs perfectly shape her face while not hiding away her eyes. Having side swept bangs so long is a great option as it means you can style them loads of different ways and even tie them back when you need to. Her highlights look fab too and really add a new dimension to this classic look. Sadly this isn’t a great look for round or square faces but for all the rest of you then jump right in!

7. Rihanna Side Swept Bangs: Bold Curls

5b276667df0e95e97ecdb2587e33892f

I’m sure we can all appreciate how fab Rihanna’s side swept bangs look her – in fact her whole style for that matter! She has her bangs pulled over her eyes to make her look mysterious however the look isn’t too overpowering as she’s curled her bangs along with the rest of her hair, giving it a lighter feel. Her bold red colour really makes her stand out and goes fab with her curls. This isn’t what you’d call an office look but if you’re heading out with friends then grab the curlers!

8. Mary-Kate Olsen Side Swept Bangs: Choppy

7d9ccf5ca10d9a6d0692afd87f953b2b

Choppy bangs are a great way to give your look a bit of texture and eve a bit more volume if it’s done right. By simply adding a few layers you instantly change your look. To make the most of this style don’t smooth your bangs over to make them look sleek, ruffle them up a bit and hold them in place with a touch of hairspray to make them stand out. This is a great look for any face shape and you can even alter your look by growing your choppy bangs long or having them short.

9. Valorie Curry Side Swept Bangs: Short and Cute

7f26e91ce340fdac4bfd995e5f15896e

Valorie Curry looks fabulous with her pixie cut and even better when she wears her bangs to the side like this. Her side swept bangs are very short but this adds a cute factor to them and makes them really easy to maintain and style. This look is best for people with slim face shapes such as oval or heart shapes and can be work for any occasion. These cute bangs look best with a pixie cut however if you feel like experimenting you can try them with longer hair too.

10. Natalie Dormer Side Swept Bangs: Long and Pinned Back

8f27258ea81abafbf6dd5977d1dee23e

I loved having side swept bangs but couldn’t help but be annoyed when they fell in my face. This doesn’t seem to be a problem for Natalie Dormer however who’s subtly sept her bangs off of her face and pinned them behind her ears, making for an elegant look. This is a great style for any face shape and is perfect for work, play, or even the red carpet! Ir your bangs aren’t as long as Natalie’s you can still experiment with this style and pin your bangs to the side higher up too.

11. Rachel McAdams Side Swept Bangs: Loose Waves

9f7b85b7ed7cd95d0d16a99cdb443be5

Loose waves are a great way to add a bit of texture and volume to your style without overdoing it. Unlike curls, waves suit any face shape and they make for great bangs, especially if they’re as light as Rachel McAdams’. When you’re styling your bangs make sure not to make them too thick or else this will ruin your look. Less is more as they say! Don’t worry if all your waves aren’t the same either, having them all odd in size will add to your look and make you look carefree. This is a perfect look for daytime or nighttime.

12. Dianna Agron Side Swept Bangs: Extremely Subtle Sweep

021bbad36591a082024a7241be4999f7

Side swept bangs don’t have to be dramatic to look great either. Take Dianna Agron’s look here for example. Her bangs sweep only a tiny bit yet they still look fab. This also makes for a great look as it can be altered to be a full fringe too. If you’re heading to work then this may just be the perfect look but it’s also cute enough to look great on a night out too.

13. Dianna Agron Side Swept Bangs: Flicked

26f9cc711a2c38faf090a716418aa0b5

These long bangs look so cute, especially when they flick at the end. This is a really stand out style and can instantly transform you from Plain Jane into a rock chick. This style of bangs looks great with choppy hair and highlights as it has so much texture in it. Don’t worry if it keeps falling in front of your eyes – it’s all part of the look.  This is a perfect look for any face shape and can be styled in numerous ways to suit a variety of occasions (though the office may not be one of them!).

14. Kristen Bell Side Swept Bangs: Short Blunt Bangs

40b138b7da69d5c5829bf5cff4d15d1e

Kristen’s blunt cut really does make for a refreshing change. It really draws attention to her bangs to highlights her pretty face. My best tip for this look is to keep your bangs straight or else the blunt cut won’t show up as well and the look will be lost. A few highlights are also a great way to draw attention to this unique style. This is a great loo for everyone so don’t be afraid to get styling.

15. Candice Accola Side Swept Bangs: Long and Light Bangs

50c5c339ec037cce8368c213d1bb7508

Instead of opting for short heavy bangs, Candice has created a totally unique look by wearing her bangs long and very light. As her bangs sweep across her eyes they add an air of mystery however her look is still very inviting as her bangs are nice and light so you can see through them. This look is perfect for if you’re going to a party however more formal occasions may be out. This is also one of the few all round styles that can be pulled off by any face shape.

16. Hilarie Burton Side Swept Bangs: Short and Subtle

64a83063fbcda085d02a04e7bd9072b8

Here Hilarie Burton has gone for a very subtle approach to side swept bangs. Her bangs sweep across her forged only slightly and fall heavily on her face, making her look edgy, mysterious and stylish all at once. This is a really easy look to maintain and is a perfect look for socialising. It works with any face shape apart from round or square faces.

17. Carey Mulligan Side Swept Bangs: Braided Backward

65ae388f91544c46bc19d5b627622024

Never fear that if you have side swept bangs they’re going to be constantly falling in your face. There are plenty of ways you can experiment with to style them to one side. Braiding your bangs back is incredibly simple and makes for a fabulous look which you can wear for socialising or for work. The only occasion this look may not work for is a more formal affair however there are variations of this look which you could experiment with in this case.

18. Reese Witherspoon Side Swept Bangs: Long

Here Reese is wearing her bangs long which means they’ll be forever moving and her look will be constantly changing. 211a873471f8616e111480cb2ffe831d

This is the perfect look for any formal occasion as it’s screams elegance and style. Hilarie has subtly curled her bangs into one curl, twisting the hair away from her face so her eyes are left clear. You can try this trick even if the rest of your hair is straight as it makes for a lovely contrast however as you can see from Hilarie it looks great if all your hair is curled. This look is best on heart shaped faces however don’t be afraid to try it out even if you have a different face shape too.

861f2cb3557cb05925c06d34cd31b465

21. Taylor Swift Side Swept Bangs: Almost Full Fringe With A Subtle Sweep

906f42e4835deb2f829620d31f145d50

If you’ve got a full fringe and would like to experiment with side swept bangs then this is a great option to get you started. Simply start off with a full fringe and gently guide your hair over to one side then keep it in place with a touch of hairspray. This is a great option if you have thick hair or simply a heavy fringe and is a perfect look for any occasion. Sadly, this look doesn’t work for people with round or square faces as it makes their faces look shorter and wider but all the rest of you will look fabulous.

22.Dianna Agron Side Swept Bangs: Long and Thick

5064ec2153c8e3398506d25586b0f2d0

Dianna’s look here is great, especially as her bangs only just skim her eyes. Her thick hair makes for heavy bangs but luckily the length of them means they don’t fall in her eyes too often and they skim nicely around the side of her face. This loo works well if the bangs are slightly feathered at the bottom and is really set off my the addition of highlights.  This look works really well for round and square faces as it frames the face without risking making it look too wide.

23. Katy Perry Side Swept Bangs: Long

8372a2bdb4fb08324da0d034b1d54f8f

Katy Perry’s side swept bangs look great as they make a statement without altering her style. She’s wearing them tucked in amongst her other hair so they still frame her face and give her a side swept bang look. This is a perfect look for any occasion. The only face shape it wouldn’t work on is people with a small forehead (like me!) as the hair won’t fall right around your face and will fall over your eyes instead.

24.Kiera Knightley Side Swept Bangs: Worn Tied Back

21029fb7f7d305759644b00fe5c92383

Wearing your bangs long is great because it means for formal occasions you have the option of sweeping them back like Kiera Knightley has. This look is best done if you keep your centre parting and leave your bangs a tiny bit loose. This is a perfect style for heart shapes faces but it also looks amazing on round a square faces too.

25.Victoria Beckham Side Swept Bangs: Long, Light and Choppy

56318a51de99dc09882273bb846881d0

This style of bangs is perfect for wearing with a bob like Victoria Beckham here. Victoria’s bangs are really light thanks to her thin hair which means they don’t obscure her vision as they fall gracefully across her eyes. This is a great look for hitting the social scene with ad will instantly liven up your bob. It also suits longer bobs and a line styles, especially if you have a delicate face shape like our former Spice Girl has.

57373abf35ca8e0e0729b4fc3609600a

27. Emma Stone Side Swept Bangs: Long Waves

96986e8cca36385d824a8f8ab0422917

Long waves for side swept bangs is always a winning look as Emma Stone proves but she’s also made it look even better by pinning the other side of her hair back behind her ear so her bangs become the main focus of her look. The waves add volume if you have thin hair and take your look from plain to chic in an instant. You can use curlers to create this look but personallyI think that braiding your hair a few hours before hand will create the best wavy look possible.

28. Anne Hathaway Side Swept Bangs: Pixie Bangs

804493d7e900d352a291ca4c044bc3c1

Here Anne Hathaway shows off her fabulous side swept bangs with her pixie haircut. Her bangs are very short but as she’s wearing them rather choppy it doesn’t matter. Her rugged look really suits her pixie style and is easily maintained for those of you with not a lot of time on your hands. This is a perfect look for any occasion and suits any face shape.

29.Rachel McAdams Side Swept Bangs: Long and Thick

807682994539f807d41faec5b971ac03

a0e3c4b62110194c54c35dc64a753897

Of course not all looks need to be neat and nice as Dianna Agron proves here. She’s gone for a very choppy and rough look which makes her look like a bit of a rock chick. This look is a easy to create and all you need is a bit of styling product and some hairspray to get going. Sadly this look doesn’t suit more formal occasions so you may need to save this look for nights out. It also doesn’t suit all personalities either and you need to have a fair bit of confidence to pull it off. Still, if you’re looking for a wild look then this style of bangs is perfect!

31.Katy Perry Side Swept Bangs: Casual

a1dd02bfbfdd71d48da3a3375a23fabf

Katy Perry’s bangs make for a great casual look. They’re the perfect length to sweep around her eyes and frame her face and aren’t too heavy or too light. This is a great look as it enables you to wear your hair up or down without spoiling your bangs too meaning it’s perfect for wearing at the office or even on a night out. This is perhaps my favourite all round look. Its great for heart and oval shaped faces, though you’ll also be able to pull it off almost as well if you have any other face shape too. I simply adore this look and think that everyone should try it at least once!

32. Jennifer Aniston Side Swept Bangs: Extra Long

a2e283609861a3a93cea6ddc8129b855

Here Jen’s bangs may be extra long but don’t let that fool you, they’re still perfectly side swept. As her bangs are so long they’re extremely versatile and she can style them most any way she wants, giving her a tonne of freedom. If you’re looking for a look that won’t restrict your styling options then this is a great choice. It also works for any face shapes and is a great style for helping slim down the look of your face. You can also try this style of hair lengths from medium to extra long so don’t think you have to have hair the same length as Jen’s to try this out.

33. Kat Graham Side Swept Bangs: Subtle Sweep

a134c4916d31022ea5ed3cd8611ce438

Adding just a subtle sweep to your bangs can completely change your look. This is a great style in between having a full fringe and having side swept bangs meaning it’s incredibly versatile and you can style this look a few different ways. It’s great for any face shape apart from round and you can wear this look to any occasion. Plus you can alter it by wearing your hair up or down too so be prepared to get experimental.

34. Bethany Joy Lenz Side Swept Bangs: Pinned Back

a332702249966bd78fc0d16bbb9b11bc

I don’t know about you but every now and again my bangs start to annoy me. I love them but when they fall in my face I can’t help but get a little irritated. If this is a problem you know well then this is a great style to combat it. By simply pinning your bangs back you completely change your look and suddenly your pretty face becomes the focus of your look. Why not experiment with this look and add a braid or a hair accessory to really make the most of the pinned back look?

35.Kate Voegel Side Swept Bangs: Light and Delicate

b117809e4653aa9e46cf182bc51915b2

Kate Voegel’s bangs look thick but it’s only the colour of her hair that creates this illusion. They’re actually blissfully light and delicate which makes this a much more manageable look. Note how her bangs only just skim her eyes  and the way they curve around the face to highlight her features. Her style is very easy to create and incredibly easy to maintain so you don’t have to have loads of time on your hands to look as good as Kate does here.

36. Miley Cyrus Side Swept Bangs: Wind Blown

b256675ffb50cb0b6b7e2a6c73b06bc5

If you’ve been reading my other posts then you’ll likely know that I love any style which has been slightly wind blown. I think it looks great as it adds a little edginess to your look and stops you from looking like a Plain Jane.  Don’t worry, you don’t even have to step outside to create this look either. All you need is a bit of styling product, some creativity, and a can of hairspray and you’re golden. By backcombing your hair a bit you can also make this look even cooler too, especially when it comes to your bangs. Windswept bangs are incredibly easy to create and they look fabulous!

37. Hilary Duff Side Swept Bangs: Neat Bangs

c56bde499020c9134cf79b5255c3711f

In complete contrast to the last picture we now see Hilary Duff with extremely near bangs, a style which is perfect for hitting the office with. This style is great as you can wear it with your hair up down, windswept, curled, anything! It also looks great on all face shapes too making this a truly versatile look. Hilary’s bangs are the perfect length as they sweep across her brows and don’t hide her pretty eyes from view. They highlight her face wonderfully.

38. Kristen Bell Side Swept Bangs: Pixie Bangs

Side swept bangs_40

Here’s another great look from Kristen Bell and this time she’s showing off her fabulous pixie bangs. Her bangs taper beautifully to the side, showing off the majority of her face which still drawing attention to it. I’d also like to note how the rest of her hair perfectly frames her face too. This is a great look for round faces and is perfect for most any occasion.

39. Jennifer Lawrence Side Swept Bangs: Light Waves

ce8ec8ead4926a9fdd914b2cb13d7113

I love this look on the one and only J.Law. It’s cool, it’s chic, it’s edgy and it’s certainly unique. Wavy bangs like this aren’t the easiest style to create I’ll admit but once you get them right they look fantastic. Always remember to finish this style off with hairspray or your bangs will no doubt be falling back across your face in hours if you don’t. This look is perfect for oval faces and looks great for hitting the social scene.

40. Carey Mulligan Side Swept Bangs: Slicked Back

d0cd2dc0d4d323df4f5d09a12c71da91

This is one of my favourite variations of side swept bangs and is the perfect look for any formal occasion! This works best for pixie cuts but with enough hairspray you can make this look work for long hair too. This is a great way to instantly transform your look and get your bangs out of your face for the evening while still looking utterly fabulous. This is definitely a win for Carey Mulligan.

41. Rachel McAdams Side Swept Bangs: Pretty in Pink

d1ccc4de43b6674c59c5da01dacaf9ac

While colouring your bangs isn’t exactly a style I think it’s definitely an option worth considering as it instantly transforms your look and makes you stand out in a crowd. You can go bold like Rachel McAdams or you can go for a more natural colour but either way even just a tiny change will refresh your look and have you feeling and looking your absolute best.

42.Hilary Duff Side Swept Bangs: Straight and Subtle

d2bfca98ebde2422b3bd02b1734c8921

Hilary Duff’s bangs look great here. All she’s done is straighten them and sweep them ever so subtly to the side, giving her an edgy chic look. This is a great party look and definitely looks best on people with delicate and long faces.

43.Reese Witherspoon Side Swept Bangs: Ruffled and Chic

d652b5510d8c6f5cf11cc154b306b0d7

I’ve been told by hairdresser friends that this is the most common picture of side swept bangs that they are presented with in salons. It’s the style that loads of girls want. The reason? Firstly is looks amazing! It’s chic, edgy, versatile, and suits all face shapes. Secondly, it’s very easy to maintain once you’ve got it due to it’s subtle nature. This is an awesome look for social events and you can keep it looking great throughout the day with very minimal amounts of effort.

44.Rachel McAdams Side Swept Bangs: Gentle Wave

dcd6a6c5adee27e972246cba4aab76c9

Rachel’s look here doesn’t have what I’d call wavy bangs however there is a slight wave to her bangs which is where the title came from. This wave gives her hair volume which still keeping her look incredibly simple. More like than not this wave is natural meaning this style is very easy to replicate, even if you have just rolled out of bed. This look is fab for any occasion and this style of bangs will flatter square faces most of all (though I encourage you to try it still if you have a different face shape!).

45.Taylor Swift Side Swept Bangs: Overlapping Bangs

f92c252078019b9323d633faf2874bef

Taylor Swift has two layers to her bangs here, one of which overlaps the other creating volume in her look. This look is simple to create yet very unusual which will help the wearer stand out in a crowd. You can also alter this look so it looks great at any occasion, a definite pro. Oval face shapes will look the best with this fab style.

46. Gwyneth Paltrow Side Swept Bangs: Sleek and Highlighted

1e33b55b8074d963ce39672e5cd31713

Simple sleek bangs are a great option, especially if you’re likely to be spending a lot of time in a work or formal environment. They’re very easy to manage, especially at this length which will really flatter any face shape, and they’re also nice enough to wear socially too. You can style them by adding a curl or some waves for other occasions too. As Gwyneth shows, this type of bang is perfect for wearing with your hair up, especially if it’s nice and straight.

47. Emma Stone Side Swept Bangs:Long and Rugged

5b73a7f6ecd26df4d88bb71a4a21a0d7

Your bangs don’t need to look perfect all the time – in fact sometimes it’s better if they don’t. I love Emma’s long side swept bangs, especially as they’re a little bit rugged which adds an edge to her chic style. This look is perfect for formal occasions and by simply letting the rest of your hair fall loose you’re instantly transformed and ready for social occasions too. This is a really easy to create style too which gives it some serious bonus points.

48. Reese Witherspoon Side Swept Bangs: Highlights

8cce97b5c119079eb8e04ad2744d2557

Just simply adding a few highlights to your bangs will instantly transform your whole look. It’s a great way of brightening your face and making your bangs go from boring to alive. You can also get lowlight too but in my experience highlights gives the better effect when done on bangs. Try not to stray too far from your natural colour as this may spoil your look, instead keep it subtle for the best results.

49. Kaley Cuoco Side Swept Bangs: Long

887882a1c953536572b398459f31e57a

If you’ve got long bangs you’ll likely constantly find yourself running your fingers through them and sweeping your face, something many people find annoying but something which leads to this ace style as Kaley shows us.  When pushed back long bangs fall perfectly around your face and look great if you have an oval shaped face.

50. Emma Stone Side Swept Bangs: Sleek Bangs

f474753e1b3c372cef2ffb1ae4a3016e

Any finally we come to our last style sported by Emma Stone. Her long sleek bangs are great and are a truly versatile style. They’re neat enough to wear to work and still chic enough to wear for a celebration too. Wearing your bangs long like this gives you lots of styling options too so you’re not restricted to the same style day after day.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this article and that I’ve helped to give you lots of inspiration. I’d love to know which styles were your favourites and if there are any you’re planning on trying out so don’t hesitate to get in touch. Are there any styles you didn’t like or any you can’t wait to try out? Personally I loved all of them – in my book any bangs go so long as they suit your face shape and the occasion. Like I said at the start, not all bangs suit every occasion so bear this in mind when choosing a style and perhaps go for a very versatile one or a style you can easily change. Happy styling and don’t forget to comment with all your thoughts!

So you’ve got thick hair and aren’t quite sure what to do with it? It can be a nightmare at times, right? For me, the words unruly, untameable, and downright frustrating come to mind when I think of my thick hair. Well, all that may well be true but having thick hair can also be a great blessing. Thick hair is beautiful, especially if it flows in a mane down your back, so I say it’s time for us all to stop complaining and to start making the most of our luscious, thick hair. How do we do that? you ask. Well, never fear for as always I’ve been trawling the internet to find some of the best styles out there. I’ve been looking for styles to suit all lengths of hair, all walks of life, all personalities, and every occasion so you should never be lost for a little inspiration. That said, here are the fifty best styles for thick hair, whether your hair is short, medium, long, or you look akin to Rapunzel. Here goes…

1. Jennifer Lawrence Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Long Beach Waves

0b545d1cd527c396db170aa973566240

Beach waves is a classic style that most anyone can pull off however you’re almost guaranteed to wear it better if you have thick, long hair. You can create beach waves by using your curlers or rollers but personally I think the best way is to simply braid your hair ahead of time and let your hair curl itself naturally. By braiding your hair your waves will be soft, natural, and slightly uneven which will enhance this look. Add a little hairspray so your style lasts longer too.

2. Emma Watson Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Short and Choppy

1d7ee520e9c1f78e835bad1e7f5c8639

By adding layers to your thick hair you make it instantly less bulky and therefore much more manageable. This is true of Emma Watson’s fabulous style. She’s had her chin length hair cut into choppy layers, making for an edgy, chic and carefree look. This style works best on heart or oval shaped faces but don’t be afraid to try it out if you have a square or round face too.

3. Kiera Knightley Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Short, Soft, Curls

2f4085d760d0367800c9eec72068d75b

While any woman can pull of curls whether her hair is thick or thin, I find curls always look better on thick hair, namely because of the volume thick hair gives them. By curling short hair which often sticks to the head, you instantly transform your look and volumes it. If you’ve got a round face you should wear very big curls and give your hair as much volume as possible but for those of you with a petite face like Kiera you can wear gentle curls.

4. Rachel McAdams Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Pretty in Pink – Unruly Colour

3b5a1ef668c0d9cf25b7665326527a24

Coloured highlights are a great addition to any style but especially a short and choppy one like Rachel McAdams’ hair. The great thing about having thick hair is that you instantly have volume and texture without even trying, something that will make your highlights really stand out and take on a life of their own. Rachel looks fab with her pink highlights but of course you’re free to choose any colour you think will suit you.

5. Natalie Portman Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Low Ponytail

3ce6fffe2f8c78c8f903f0a46a1feb58

Low ponytails are always a great look, especially if you hair is thick and therefore has a bit of volume to it. When you’re pulling your long or medium hair into a low ponytail, try not to make it too tight. Leave flyaway hairs to give your look that little something extra like Natalie. Also, you can add a few curls to your ponytail to rally set your look off.

6. Miley Cyrus Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Long Side Braid

4e9c483926e1a763cc9f28c5435c1bdb

I love side braids, they’re probably one of my favourite hairstyle, and I can tell you that they definitely look better when done on thick hair. This is because your braid will have much more bounce to it, and you can even tease it apart to make it look thicker still. Also, to make the most of showing off your thick hair don’t bundle all of your hair into your braid. Leave some of it flying free so your thick hair really catches people’s eyes.

7. Selena Gomez Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Long Ponytail

6a7e1962c9d12650c2eef95d7593ecdd

While ponytails can be frustrating to create if you have thick hair which insists on being unruly, they’re worth the effort you put into them. As you can see from Selena, thick ponytails look great due to all the volume in them, something you can’t achieve naturally with thin hair. The longer your hair the better for this look, ladies, but you can still give this style a bash if you have medium hair too.

8. Miley Cyrus Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Elegant Curls

6e27a11d675af691344666810736cb8c

This is perhaps Miley’s best look if you ask me, and her brilliant style is enhanced by her beautifully thick hair. She’s curled her medium length curls to make her look like she’s walked right out the twenties, a style which is really coming back into fashion right now. Her thick hair gives her curls more volume, adding to her look, and her various layers mean it all sits nicely together.

9. Katy Perry Hairstyle For Thick Hair: High Ponytail

7d0a46394a39ed02f8aafa07c42ca980

While even people with thin hair can make high ponytails, they tend to look a little limp and lifeless. If you’ve got thick hair however that isn’t the case. Your high ponytail will look fab and full from hairband to hair tip, giving you a fab look. The longer the hair the better for this look, but if you’ve got medium hair you can still attempt it. Useful tip: the higher the ponytail the longer your hair will look.

10. Emma Watson Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Short, Cute Pixie Haircut

07d7470d93659e56612f89a73bcd56b9

If you’re going for a super short pixie haircut then thick hair is great as you’ll manage to get all the great benefits of this style without your hair looking like it lies too close to your head. This is a great style for all face shapes except for round faces (a longer pixie style will suit them better) and also a style I think everyone should try at least once.

11. Rachel Bilson Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Full Fringe

8a464d7dc494d9bdcae43da4c9a7a42a

Yes, yes, I hear you, people with thin hair often have full fringes too. Well, that’s true but they don’t wear them nearly as well. This is because as soon as any heat (hairdryers, straighteners etc) go near their fringe it suddenly looks thinner than ever and the style is lost. Those of you with thick hair won’t have that problem however. Anyone can pull off a fringe too, though if you’ve got a round face I advise going with a blunt fringe over a rounded one.

12. Selena Gomez Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Medium Bob

8f83384096f83f247695caa1d76ebd15

Medium bobs look great on thick hair, especially if you add no layers to it like Selena as this makes it look even thicker. This is a great style whether you’re professional or planning on going out partying, plus it suits any face shape so you don’t have to worry about it not suiting you. This style also looks super cute if you tuck one side of your hair behind your ear.

13. Sophie Bush Hairstyle For Thick Hair: High, Big Bun

9e8d180180db0f0c34561a3c9704d48a

If you’ve got thin hair then you can easily achieve a thick bun by using a doughnut however if you have naturally thick hair you can great an even more natural looking affect without quite so much hassle. This style works for long hair and can be done by first tying you hair into a high ponytail and then looping your hair around and fastening it into this fab looking bun. This style can be done in minutes, though you wouldn’t think it with how great it looks.

14. Hayden Panettiere Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Brushed Back, Long Pixie Cut

09fb8d214d2f12ff83971a9b10b9dc65

This is a great style whether you’re planning on working or playing. It’s a great way to change up your pixie cut and really works for thick hair because of the amount of volume your hair will create. You’ll need to use a bit of product topped off with a bit of hairspray to create this look but after that you’ll be golden. The only face shape this doesn’t really work for is round faces.

15. Kate Hudson Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Boho Long Waves

28a2b0e2eb48d2853ec10a96e1424a68

Boho long waves look great if you’ve got thick hair because your hair will add to the unruly nature of your look. To get the best out of this look, make your waves and curls a little uneven like Kate Hudson has done. You can try this with medium length hair but in all honesty it doesn’t really have the same effect. Those of you with long hair will definitely rock this look best.

16. Miley Cyrus Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Half Shaves Pixie Haircut

57cd47165e8bb688df4cb1fcd02c401e

Pixie hairstyles look great on people with thick hair as they tend to have a lot more volume and look bouncier. I love this shaves look as it’s undeniably cute. This is a style that only face shape can pull off too – now it’s just a case of you finding the courage to shave half your head.

17. Katy Perry Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Fancy, Long Poytail

75e5667ad9086553f52b5d2314097ce6

Ponytails don’t have to be boring, in fact they can be incredibly fancy as Katy Perry shows us here. By taking a few strands of your hair and moulding them into an undo you bring new life to your hair and are much more likely to stand out in a crowd. Be as creative as you dare with this one, ladies, this style is one you can truly make your own.

18. Jennifer Lawrence Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Ruffled Pixie Haircut

81d37d55fe0e7e5c795bd689d5c38e3f

Like I said before, pixie haircuts are great for thick hair as they don’t cling to your head and look flat. This is especially true if you ruffle your hair up a bit like J. Law has done here. This is a great style and one which looks different every time you do it. You can use a bit of product to create this style but personally I prefer just running fingers through the hair and then finishing it off with a touch of hairspray, no fuss needed.

19. Jennifer Lawrence Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Regular Ponytail

89c094fbd5a48977a70c1f89061d158c

So I covered high ponytails, low ponytails, and even fancy ponytails earlier but I just wanted to remind you all that there’s nothing at all wrong with regular ponytails. Again, they look great with thick hair as they have a lot more volume and bounce to them. This is a fab style for any face shape and perfect for a day at the office.

20. Rihanna Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Long Perm

534e9bdb1877f0e22a787cb6c01f387b

Perms look fab on long, thick hair, mostly because they have much more life about them. They don’t look dull and flat, they look bouncy and luscious. There’s a perm for every face shape too, each of them done differently and creating different types of curls to suit you. You can get perms done of medium hair too but they tend to look far better on long hair like Rihanna’s. Oh, and the thicker your hair the better your perm will take.

21. Hilary Duff Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Side Swept

0618fac78d80832d061af1b233091796

I love seeing women with all their thick hair swept over to one side, and often pinned in place. This is a great look as it stops your hair tom falling across one side of your face and creates a lush, volumised pile of hair on your other shoulder. It’s a very chic and elegant look but you can also style it to make it look casual or even very professional. Why not add a few curls to mix it up too?

22. Candice Accola Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Dip Dyed

656a1b304557c77659604f41785da31a

Okay, so this is a style for thin hair as well as thick hair but I’m including it because it’s a style you should never overlook. Dip dying is great and can instantly transform your hair and change your look. You can go with a bold colour like Candice or if that’s not really you then you can always go down the route of having a natural coloured dip dye. Don’t be afraid to experiment and ask your stylist for advice.

23. Candice Accola Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Accessorise!

5846bacd62e3a14775044e144c5b1930

Accessorising  is by far the easiest and quickest way to restyle your hair without any fuss. You can use hairbands, grips, or (my favourite choice) hats to change up your look. Hats look great with thick hair as your hair is less likely to go limp beneath them so you still keep your style. You don’t have to have your hair braided like Candice to wear a hat either – why not experiment with tying your hair up, low buns, curls, and wearing your hair loose too?

24. Hayden Panettiere Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Half Pinned Back

7055ea0d9da7b1288cb7b525a36b8441

The biggest problem I have with my thick hair is that it’s always falling forward as it’s so heavy, something that this style combats. By pinning half of your hair back you instantly change your look and reveal your pretty face to the world. You can use a number of different types to do this so be sure to choose the type that suits where you’re headed best. Take Hayden for example: her glittery pins are perfect for the red carpet and really make her look like she belongs.

25. Kate Hudson Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Long and Straight

8889d3b7a705e9460fdc1dfa39602c04

When you straighten thin hair it tends to go even thinner the second the heat touches it, often making it look incredibly limp and lifeless. For those of you with thick hair you won’t have that problem however which means that the straight look is something you can really rock.  This look is perfect for any face shape and is also something that you can pull of casually, at a formal event, at work, on a night out – literally anywhere! It’s smart, casual, and chic all in one. Plus, you’ll love the shine straightening your hair gives it.

26. Nina Dobrev Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Long, Central Braid

122581e5ee107e2b011eae86cf097cde

Central braids look fabulous at all times but especially if they’re done on long, thick hair like Nina Dobrev has. They’re a great choice for any face shape as you can alter them to include your bangs styles how best suits you. The biggest downside to them is that they’re a nightmare to do singlehandedly so you may have to enlist the help of a friend or partner to create one for you. Other that that however they’re a fabulous choice of style.

27. Jennifer Lawrence Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Long Curls and Soft Bangs

632929f701e644709a95c6f90ab880ed

Long curls look great on thick hair because they have so much volume and texture. They tend to stay in longer than they would on thin hair too. The great thing about curls is you can alter them to be as large or small as you like which means you can adapt them to any face shape or occasion. I’d also like to point out J.Law’s fabulous, soft fringe. She has a full fringe but it’s been cut so it falls very softly and doesn’t take over her look, something which thick hair can often do. If you’re getting a fringe, try a one like this. One which looks grey but isn’t too heavy due to your thick hair.

28. Hilary Duff Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Rock Chick/Boho Long, Half Up Do

844912a116c4291a2494c49ef9ed3c85

I’m not even sure where to begin when it comes to telling you why this style is fantastic. You only need to look at it to tell! Here Hilary is wearing her long hair in a half up do but has used a mixture of curls and waves to changer her style from prim and proper to a cross between a rock chick and boho, a unique combo. Note how not a single strand of her her hair is perfect, but yet because none of her hair is perfect it all looks pretty damn hot. I know, it’s an odd thing to comprehend but you only need to look at her to know why this style works. If you’re thinking of going for this style just remember to lock it in place with a little hairspray.

29. Emma Watson Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Medium Length Elegance

1649093ab37013b52f211566790a8794

I always think medium length hair is a bit of an odd length as it’s not really long enough to style yet it’s long enough to need styling all the same. This style worn by Emma Watson is a great use of medium length hair and makes it love incredibly cute and elegant. Emma has curled her hair gently and pulled it back off of her face by securing a few strands with subtle pins. I also love how she’s kept her bangs down on one side to frame her face, something you ought to experiment with to see what way your bangs should be worn to suit your face shape.

30. Katy Perry Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Gentle, Medium Length Waves

3445179e1b9b1a35f9b7fe4a8e639106

Your hairstyle doesn’t need to be elaborate, in fact it can be incredibly simple and still look fabulous as Katy Perry shows us with her head of gently waves. Her waves are very subtle yet they add a new dimension and a layer of volume to her thick hair. This is a great style if you’re looking for something quick and easy and one that’s easily maintained throughout the day. Just add a bit of hairspray and you’re good to go.

31. Sophia Bush Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Thick Fringe

57216944cfbe76260b854b25a716fd24

While Sophia Bush’s fringe may look thick and heavy, it’s actually an illusion due to the natural volume of her hair. Her look is created using minimal hair yet still looks gorgeous. This is a great tip if you’re thinking of getting a full fringe. That said, full fringes don’t tend to suit round faces so you may want to consider a different type of bangs. If you’ve got a delicate face shape however then jump right in!

32.Rachel McAdams Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Half Curls

a6f08550c674ba349c33fe1284f0938f

Sometimes curling all of your hair can be too much for thick hair and adds too much volume however this style worn by Rachel McAdams is a great alternative. By just curling one half of her hair she creates a volumised look that’s chic and classic yet without making her hair too big. This is a great style if you have a round face as it means you don’t run the risk of making it look any rounder, though as you can see from Rachel McAdams it works for more delicate face shapes too.

33. Hilarie Burton Hairstyle For Thick Hair: All Ove Perm

a13b0f7d4d7ef9f4fe9b6fcffcd04f92

Of course some people do suit having curls all over their head, especially if they have a delicate face shape. Hilarie Burton wore this style on One Tree Hill for years and had hoards of girls pining for her amazing style. This look works best on delicate faces and tends to stay in longer on people with medium length hair.

34.Miley Cyrus Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Long and Natural

a95f26a26fb339e41caf85b38a0549cc

Remind me again why people with long, thick hair are even bothering to style their hair? Call me crazy, but I think the natural look really works, something which Miley proves to be true in this picture. Her long hair looks gorgeous and is full of volume as it’s so thick. For days when you can’t be bothered to style your hair don’t fret – simply grab the hairbrush and head out the front door. You’re sure to look fabulous either way.

35. Kiera Knightley Bairstyle For thick Hair: Rough Bob

a308d471fdc91fde1d9f5d3062eac2ce

I love Kiera’s rough bob here. She looks so chic despite her hair being somewhat ragged, a style which really suits her. Note how her hair has no layers, making it look even thicker, something which you ought to do too if you’re considering this style. This style is great for oval and heart shaped faces but it’s not likely to suit people with square or round face shapes.

36. Jennifer Lawrence Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Low Side Bun

a415a25c23d0f510e562982ba9380c10

Low side buns are a fantastic choice for thick hair (the longer the better) as they’re pretty quirky, fashionable, chic, and professional all in one. They work best on long thick hair as this makes for a bigger bun and in this case I say the unrulier the hair the better. You just have look at J.Law to see how well her messy side bun works so don’t worry if you can’t create the perfect side bun, it’s no big deal.

37. Jennifer Lawrence Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Sleek Pixie Haircut

a8173d5573f95e114b7299abc8d6377f

I’ve seen women with thick and thin hair try the pixie cut and from experience I can tell you that the style works way better on thick hair as your look will still have a bit of life to it and won’t end up clinging to your head. To make the most of this look you’ll likely need to wash your hair daily (something I wouldn’t normally advise) and steer clear of conditioner for the most part too.

38. Miley Cyrus Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Shoulder Length Curls

b2c2322ee84e6c9195178701a780e7ea

Shoulder length curls is an incredibly classy style, as Miley shows off above. The good thing about having thick hair to do this style is that it makes your curls look even bigger, a big pro since it can be hard to create decent curls on this length of hair anyway. Also, take a look at Miley’s cute, natural coloured dip dye. This really adds a little something extra to her look if you ask me.

39. Anne Hathaway Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Shoulder Length Curls

bcda18dc9424e472c35bc86f62b25b1e

Here’s another variation of shoulder length curls for you but this time the curls are far more extensive, making for a bolder and slightly less tameable look. Anne looks fantastic here and her hair is full of life. The only downside to having these super sized curls is that they won’t work quite as well on round faces. While you can use curlers to create this look, I think that rollers are the most effect way to do this.

40. Katy Perry Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Colour Crazy

ca27eeb64b6ad60e7309050eacb91c0c

One of my favourite things about thick hair is how textured it is, something which Katy Perry’s colour crazy look really makes the most of. By colouring your hair lots of different shades you really show off how thick it is and will wow people with your lucious locks. Don’t worry if your’e not up from being as bright as Katy. P. either, you can create the same illusion using more natural tones with a few highlights or lowlights thrown in for added effect.

41. Emma Watson Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Headband

cbbe0b96c3edef8aa88f7a9fe449935a

Like I said before, I love thick hair but it really annoys me too as it can sometimes fall in your way. By simply adding a hairband like Emma Watson has done you stylishly combat this issue. Her’s is a very subtle addition but you can be as flamboyant as you like. I love seeing headbands with flowers on them but it really depends on where you’re headed and the tone of your day. The best way to choose a headband is to make it match your outfit.

42. Jennifer Lawrence Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Low Bun

d8e773eee4a887dc1ba191662b0c475b

Low buns are great and incredibly stylish too. You’ll be pleased to hear that they’re much easier to create than low side buns too. When you’re setting your bun, try to make it about the same height as J. Laws – any lower and it will likely brush on any high necked clothes you’re wearing and will probably fall out prematurely. Of course, a little hairspray goes a long way to combat this.

43. Demi Lovato Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Bold and Beautiful

d4472ef63f9ebfa8697b833f8c3d14dd

Few changes to your hair make more of a statement than adding a bold colour to your look. This is of course something you can try on any hair length but the longer the better as this will make way more of a statement. In truth you need not go quite this bright, you can create the same impact with natural colours too like going from brunette to blonde etc.

44. Rihanna Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Side Swept Bob

da57deb752f61386ff53482c6cb498e8

So we’ve already covered why bobs are great for thick hair but before we wrap up I wanted to mention the side swept bob. This is one of the few bob styles I suggest adding a few layers to as the extra texture goes a long way. The side swept look is great for helping to make round or square faces look more delicate too, especially if you have bangs like RiRi.

45. Hayden Panettiere Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Classy Long Bob

e4bcfe2be0c451e862f70c12527b462d

I love this classy long bob from Hayden. It looks amazing swept back of her face, a style you can create easily simply by blow-drying your hair into the desired position. A few short layers really add to this look but be sure not to overdo it or your hair won’t look as thick as you’d like it too. You can try this look if you have a fringe but if I’m honest it won’t work nearly half as well.

46. Selena Gomez Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Half Up Do

e84b918bd4312a8e34fd2b3649af8d5f

Okay, so I’ve called it a half up of but Selena hasn’t actually needed to use anywhere near as much hair to create this stunning look. That’s the great thing about thick hair however, you don’t need much to make an impact. This is a style that definitely works best if you have long hair as it means all the hair you’ve pinned back will fall beautifully down your back. You could also try straightening or curling your hair to add to this style.

47. Nina Dobrev Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Coloured Highlights

e8121bb130ba3f5b526b97709e38ed02

You don’t need many but a few highlights (preferably coloured) will go a long way to brightening up your hair. By adding highlights to thick hair you automatically give the illusion of more volume, something which Nina proves here. Also, by curling her hair it makes this look even better and makes her look classy, casual, professional and chic all at the same time. This is one of my favourite styles on the list.

48. Emma Watson Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Plaited Bun

ebf5d07d497d78804d8cd1191023c5a2

If your hair is long enough to braid when it’s in a ponytail when you ought to try turning that braid into a bun for the stunning look Emma has here. This works great for thick hair as the thicker your hair the bigger the bun – the same goes for long hair too.

49. Hayden Panettiere Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Braided Bangs

f171a67ad8f952a86b74bddce17b899b

Another great way to get your thick hair off of your face is to French braid them out of the way like Hayden has. This is a great look for all face shapes.

50. Kiera Knightley Hairstyle For Thick Hair: Wavy Bob

f35717b6b64f4e856221717d26664bd6

By simply adding a few waves to your bob you will completely transform your look and your thick hair will give it loads more volume. This is a style that best suits delicate face shapes.

So there you have it, the fifty best hairstyles for incredibly thick hair. Hopefully you’ve found a style to suit your needs and to help you spice up your look. And remember, these styles are just guidelines too so don’t be afraid to alter the styles and change them to suit you. Add hair accessories or a bit of colour, make your hair extra wild or super sleek – whatever suits you! Personally, I prefer my thick hair long however hopefully I’ve shown you that thick hair can look incredible no matter the length you wear it at. And don’t stress if even after trying all these styles your hair is still a tad unruly – just add a dab of product or an extra strong conditioner and your hair should come under control. Oh, and one last tip. Just a minute of straightening thick hair is a great way to tame it and make it much easier to style. Have fun!

Some of us are blessed with luscious thick locks while others have fine, sleek hair. There are good and bad points to both eventualities so don’t fret if you’re one or the other. A lot of people hate having thin hair, they say it’s unruly, un-stylable, and too difficult to work with but just remember that the same can be said of thick hair too. Don’t be sad if you’re one of the many women out there with thin hair, in fact you should be smiling because it means that you can easily pull off any of these fifty fabulous styles which are perfect for fine hair. Take a scroll through this list to see some of the best styles for fine hair, each of them modelled by some of your favourite celebrities. Here goes!

1. Emma Roberts Hairstyle For Thin Hair: A Line Bob 0afe229b178f02ecb4d34c20eae0ba57

This is a great hairstyle for thin hair because it can be worn naturally (i.e. without being straightened or curled) and still look fabulous. The great thing about a-line styles is that they suit any face shape and you can have your bangs tapered to look even better. Ask your stylist what length is good for you and how they recommend you wear you bangs – my personal advice is that if you have a round face go with long bangs and the slimmer the face the shorter they can be.

2. Drew Barrymore Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Curled and Wild 0c5283b23f0957fc61b7d646c432005b

Thin hair is renowned for looking limp but with all the styling options these days that need no longer be the case. Look at Drew for instance – she has very fine hair but you wouldn’t know it looking at this picture. She’s used a mix of curlers and styling gels to make her hair look big and beautiful. This is a great tip for anyone with thin hair, no matter your hair length or face shape.

3. Dianna Agron Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Choppy Bob 1ac7ce6e87bffa2e259b7eb02bb78e51

This is a similar idea to what we say in number two. Dianna has taken a simple bob and used layers to make it look choppy, thus helping her to achieve more volume and combatting the sleek look of her thin hair. Like I said, you can do this at any length but I think there’s a timeless charm to bobs.

4. Valorie Curry Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Pixie Cut 1d59959764c5b832cfaa95a927c000f2

I love pixie cuts full stop but they definitely work better for girls with with fine hair over thick hair. This is a great option because it’s incredibly stylish and once your hair has been trimmed short no one will ever be able to tell if it’s thick or not. The only face shape which this may not suit is round faces, though there are a few variations you could consider if you’re determined to go pixie.

5. Carey Mulligan Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Acessorise 1e06ff998e3f435cd7e265ea29017a78

Carey Mulligan always looks fabulous and I bet you never even noticed how fine her hair is. That’s probably because she always styles it beautifully so how fine it is no longer matters. Take her look in the Great Gatsby for example – she wears a lot of fabulous hair pieces which draw attention away form her hair while still completing her look. This is a great tip anyone can try.

6. Kristen Bell Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Rough Ponytail 2b67c7391ed95950e09b7d494c974fc7

When your hair is tied up it’s incredibly hard to tell if it’s thin or not so this is a great option for anyone with fine hair. Why not leave your bangs down or rough your ponytail up a bit to give it a bit more texture and life too? Ponytails have a lot of variations depending on what your bangs are like so I advise you experiment to find out what look suits you best.

7. Gwyneth Paltrow Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Flaunt It 2b91d119f6040ea45696b122703cf169

Of course, you could always make like the fabulous Gwyneth Paltrow and make the most of your thin hair flaunting it for all the world to see. Straight hair is all the rage these days so why would you hide your naturally straight, fine hair? Simply grab a brush and head outside. No need to spend hours in front of the mirror!

8. Cameron Diaz Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Layered Bob 3d91c8e3d4fc19621188a0cdfb54fe68

By adding layers to your thin hair bob it creates the illusion of volume without making your hair too big (like thick hair would). This means it’s a great style for those of you with thin hair – and Cameron Diaz! This style looks lovely on a heart shaped face but oval and square faces look great too.

9. Kristen Stewart Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Windswept and Long 3d93f708b24d8efdea335c452b88be31

By giving your hair the windswept appearance no one will be able to tell your hair is thin plus you’ll be pulling off a great and sexy look at the same time. By styling your hair so it looks windswept like Kristen you’ll look chic, edgy, and fab all at once. Don’t worry about your face shape – this look works for everyone!

10. Emma Stone Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Sleek Ponytail  4d6d5937b5070eab46515db108ecadce

Ponytails are great as they’re professional, easy, and get all your hair out of your way. That said, if you have thick hair they can often become a bit unruly but if you’ve got think hair you need not face this problem. Pulling your hair into a sleek ponytail is quick, easy, and will instantly transform you into a smart, professional looking woman.

11. Dianna Agron Hairstyle For Think Hair: Flicked Out Bob 6ab717ff6f5c13260bcfd21ca70b361c

One of the main complaints I hear when it comes to thin hair is the lack of texture it has, something which this style definitely combats. This style is sleek all apart from the ends of the hair which have been neatly flicked out to create texture, volume and style. This look works best for shoulder length hair but I’ve also seen it done well on long hair so don’t be afraid to experiment.

12. Sophie Turner Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Wear It Long 6abe66b673c7b3acaf7904622f3189de

If you’ve got thin hair then it’s hard to tell when it’s short and, believe it or not, really long. It’s when you hair is medium length that it looks it’s thinnest. Simply letting your hair grow out long like Sophie turner will transform your fine hair into goddess like locks. Admittedly you can’t achieve this style overnight but a little patience will go a long way.

13. Anne Hathaway Hairstyle For Fine Hair: Sleek 6ed056b1451ed7c4af60b15b968ad851

I love the fact that Anne Hathaway isn’t afraid of flaunting her fine hair. She simple lets it show, not trying to hide it away by styling it. If you’re born with fine hair, chances are that’s because that’s what suits you best. Don’t hide behind a style, use what you were born with and wear it proudly like Anne. A sleek style with straight bangs like this will look great on you and will really make the most of your fine hair.

14. Emma Roberts Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Up Do 7f7abd5d49c0109701cd8379260297fb

Like I said before, when your hair is tied up no one can tell whether it’s thin or not. One of my favourite things about thin hair is that it’s so easy to make a bun with so you might as well make the most of this. Taking all your hair off your face works for any face shape however you’ll only be able to pull of a complete up do like this if you have medium to long hair.

15. Emma Stone Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Thick Braid 24aeea52e2dc0d156dff328f1e0c49cf

Emma Stone’s hair is naturally very thin yet here her braid looks thick and full. That’s because she’s teased it apart and styled her hair so that it’s anything but sleek, giving it texture and volume. This style works best on slim faces however the longer your hair the round your face cane before the style looks odd.

16.Kate Winslet Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Centre Parting Up Do 28b57f678d65a92d4f3ccc7e19b3a15e

If you’ve got thin hair then a centre parting may be exactly what you need to make your hair look lovely. Side partings are great but often they leave one side of your hair looking limp which isn’t what we want. A centre parting works for any face shape, as does a centre parting up do, so don’t be afraid to give it a try.

17. Drew Barrymore Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Dip Dyed BoHo Style 42a51c799d13da850685c0d80451bf19

Sometimes hiding your thin hair can be as easy as giving people something better to notice. This is a great style however you’ll need medium to long hair to try it. By adding a boho theme to your hair you’ll gain a lot of volume and texture. A few braids and random curls will go along way to making you look festival ready and oh so stylish.

18. Sophie Turner Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Slicked Back 59bf3e0ecff54f140bdef873ae3495e7

This is one of my all time favourite styles because with a few styling products and a simple sweep of the brush you can near instantly transform yourself into a stylish, red carpet ready woman. Sophie Turner looks stunning here as she shows off her slicked back hair and you can too. You’ll be pleased to know that you can pull this off no matter you face shape or hair length too. This style actually works better on thin hair as it’s much more pliable than thick hair when it comes to this style.

19. Cameron Diaz Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Sleek and Sweeping 59cb1a434d417cbd8d3880016c5e03c6

Cameron Diaz’s sweeping bangs really add a lot to her look. Instead of her hair falling plainly around her face it sweeps across it, redefining her look. Sadly this isn’t a style I recommend for those of you with round faces as it can make them look even rounder but if you’ve got any other face shape this is a great look. This is a style you can try out even if your hair is as short as a pixie cut too so get styling!

20. Hilary Duff Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Choppy Bangs 62cb54d9e9aef090dfb18e980d6f32c3

By adding choppy bangs to your look you instantly bring volume and texture into otherwise lifeless and thin hair. Luckily there’s a bang to suit everyone too so you can get this style no matter your face shape. Hillary’s look is great as it suits most face shapes. Note how her bangs aren’t too heavy and therefore don’t overpower her face – you want you bangs to make you stand out, not to hide you.

21. Carey Mulligan Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Choppy Pixie Cut 65ae388f91544c46bc19d5b627622024

Carey Mulligan totally rocks the pixie look, doesn’t she? Over the years she’s really made it her own. This is one of my favourite looks of hers as it suddenly gives her thin hair texture while not taking away from her pretty face. Simply roughing your pixie cut up a bit can completely transform your look. I also love her untidy braid too. It draws the eye and once again takes away fro the fact she has fine hair.

22. Emma Stone Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Thin and Proud 90e3e17bb37238b2b9d48e304fe5c6e5

Here Emma shows off her thin hair, showing that she’s proud of it and not hiding it away. If you’re planning on wearing your hair straight then you couldn’t wish for anything more than thin hair as it works best for this style. You can try this look no matter your face shape but my one tip is that the longer you hair the better this style will look. If your hair is shorter than your shoulders sometimes it can cling to your face shape too much, hiding your pretty face away.

23.Carey Mulligan Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Slick Back 96d82d410d7ed61317cf086e0daf908e

Earlier we saw Sophie Turner rocking this look with her long hair but here I wanted to show you how it can work for short, thin hair too. In fact it probably even looks better again – if that’s even possible! Tip – note how Carey’s hair isn’t slicked too tight to her head however. If you have a pixie cut and want to slick it back then I advise you puff it up a bit of the top so it doesn’t look too fine. This is also a great tip for helping to elongate the look of your face if you have a round face.

24. Dianna Agron Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Side Twist 181b6fcea160cd10f479918b62a6df40

Once again we see another celebrity disguising her thin hair with an eye-catching style, in this case the side twist. This look is laughably easy to create and you’ll be able to do it in seconds. Plus, you can create this style on any hair length or face shape. It’s worth experimenting to see how much hair you should twist back as this varies depending on your face shape but that’s half the fun of styling your hair I suppose.

25. Reese Witherspoon Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Buoyant Curls 267e0e8b501149a3b8b4c94abec4e9b0

By adding curls to her thin hair Reese has instantly transformed her look. She’s suddenly given it texture, volume, and a whole new lease of life. The thinner your face the larger the curls you can pull off so remember that when you’re styling. By pulling her bangs back atop her head Reese has also fund a great way to make her face look slimmer, a great tip for those of you with round or square faces.

26. Hilary Duff Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Choppy Layers 311ddef9d193590a35dd3f7e3a85c430

As I mentioned earlier, a great way to add texture to your thin hair is by adding layers. Her Hilary has used that advice and gone one step further by roughing her hair up, giving it extra volume. All you need to do to create this look is to rub your fingers through your hair with a bit of product on them after styling and your look will instantly come to life. Add a bit of hairspray and this look will stay in all day too so you don’t need to worry about it suddenly going limp and restyling every few hours.

27. Gwyneth Paltrow Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Half Up Do 0473a1b41a72807dc93ad01c2f46d28f

It’s a little known fact that I love half up dos. They’s just so sleek, stylish, and crazily easy to do. The style works even better if you have thin hair too as it’s much easier to create too. You can try this style whether you have medium or long hair and can experiment by pulling different amounts of hair back. Also, there’s no rule that says you have to stick to a ponytail either. I love wearing this style in a bun or pinning it in place with various hair accessories too. This is a great style for showing off your personality as it can be worn so many ways.

28. Nicole Ritchie Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Sleek Bob  00900e0928d10dbddaf7e1b89135c4a2

A sleek bob like this works great for thin hair as it’s so easy to create and it will sit in place much better than if you have thick hair. My big tip however is not to straighten your hair too much if you have thin hair and this style as you may end up with your hair looking thinner and more limp than ever. Adding a bit of product will protect your hair but still I say let your hair go natural. If it’s thin it will sit beautifully anyway.

29. Soarise Ronan Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Rough Bob 960b837b03dd49f4fde58f18e58f8c86

Perhaps a better bob style for those of you with thin hair is a rough bob like this. It still has the same smart yet causal effect but by roughing it up you add a bit of texture and volume to your hair. You could have your stylist add a few layers but in this instance you ought to make the most of your fine hair and let it speak for itself.  Having an uneven parting will help to take attention away from how fine your hair is too.

30. Scarlett Johansson Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Messy Bun 3530cda8a0724be7183d620526b99e2b

Buns are definitely easier to create if you have fine hair so if you like this stele don’t go cursing your thin hair just yet. Buns are incredibly classy, professional looking, and stylish too. I love seeing a perfect bun but if you have fine hair you should consider trying out a messy bun like Scarlett (mostly because you can!). It adds an edge to your professional look, making you look smart and casual all at once. This is a great look for most any face shape, the only downside is you have to have hair long enough to tie up in the first place.

31. Natalie Dormer Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Side Waves 7401f26408ac0dec14360235213cfd0a

Side partings don’t always work well for thin hair however sweeping all your hair to one side is another matter entirely. This is a great way to suddenly compact all your hair together, making it look thick and full of volume. By adding lots of waves and curls like Natalie has you also enhance this look, making your hair look thicker than ever. You may well need a lot of hair clips and a lot of hairspray to keep this look in place but trust me it’s worth it. If you’re heading to the office or a night on the town this is a great look. Plus it’s another look that works for all face shapes so don’t be afraid to try it out!

32. Kate Hudson Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Delicate Curls 80328c0adec528ded07f0276b1c8e806

Getting a great look for thin hair need not be hard. In fact it can be as simple as slipping your rollers in or curling your hair. By adding a few simple curls your hair will instantly be given a new lease of life and will suddenly look full of volume and texture. As a general rule, the slimmer your face the thicker your curls can be so remember this when you’re styling. Oh, and don’t forget your hairspray or your curls will fall out before you even leave the house and you’ll be back to having fine hair!

33. Dakota Fanning Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Colour Change 88946ad908b887b73fa76146f39794ea

Dakota Fanning shocked fans and photographers alike when she stepped out onto the red carpet which her brunette hair opposed to her natural white blonde. While she’s not had a major style change I’m sure you’ll agree that she looks fabulous with her new colour and suddenly her thin hair is forgotten. If you want an easy way to change your look then why not consider a stark change in colour? Even a subtle change will go a long way to altering your look and you might find you and others no longer notice your thin hair.

34. Dianna Agron Hairstyle For Thin Hair: High Bun 800160fda098d4e77dbabd9ca3452095

This is perhaps one of the prettiest pictures of Dianna Agron, not least of all because of her fabulous hair. Her high, messy bun really sets off her look and hides away her thin hair. Her thin hair really helps to create this style too as it’s a difficult one to pull off with thick hair. Her bangs look beautiful too, not too heavy thanks to her fine hair but beautifully shaped. Sadly however I don’t advise you go for this bang style if you have a round gave as your face will end up looking much rounder. Instead go for side or sweeping bangs.

35. Emma Stone Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Curls, Curls, Curls 1411667b5c9a59d8fb8e6dc51a5d24c4

Every inch of Emma Stone’s fine hair has been styled here, transforming her thin hair into a look of volume. Her layers really add to thins style as this give her look more texture too. Note how ever her bangs have a slight wave in them, leaving no trace of her once fine hair behind. Again, the thinner the face you have the thicker your curls can be. Also, even though Emma’s hair is quite long don’t be afraid to try this trick with short hair too – you’ll likely be pleasantly surprised by the results.

36. Natalie Portman Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Unruly and Slight Waves 3002549e93c96cd2849f3056c274fb4a

I love this style as it’s so unique yet so simple. Natalie’s hair has been given a windswept look and an ever so slight wave so that her thin hair becomes unnoticeable. This style looks so natural and makes her look like she has naturally quite thick hair. Also, take note of how her highlights take away from her thin hair too. This is a simple trick you can try that will have a massive effect on your look.

37. Kate Hudson Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Large Bun8632401f977762fd80def80235b16085

Thick hair is a nightmare to get into a large bun so you should feel blessed if you have thin hair and can pull this style off. Some people are pretty darn talented and can create this look with just their hands but personally I suggest investing in a doughnut hair accessory to make this look simpler to create. Or you can go very DIY and use a sock with the toes cut out. Either way this is a fantastic look that will instantly make you look chic. If you’ve got no bangs like Kate Hudson then it doesn’t matter what your face shape is either as you’re sure to look stylish with this look.

38. Gwyneth Paltrow Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Sleek Bob 683650521bf4ba44516f2add11f7127c

Once again Gwen isn’t hiding the fact she has thin hair, she’s flaunting it as I think more people should. Sleek bobs like this look great if you have thin hair, just be sure no to over straighten it or else it will end up looking limp and lifeless. There’s a fine balance but if you can find it you’ll look fab.

39. Kiera Knightley Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Delicate Waves a68f921f79b546ed821c0a7a55c46349

While usually I think Kiera suits short hair better, I think that her thin hair really helps her to pull off this style. By adding some delicate waves to her hair she’s made it go from thin to full and suddenly it’s got loads of volume. I also love what her highlights do to it as they appear to add a layer of texture. Getting highlights or lowlights like this is a great way to spice up your thin hair and truly make it stand out.

40. Emma Roberts Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Sleek Ponytail a3976dfb6cdf1f1c2fea52f1b06a2429

Ponytails looks great on any women and on any face shape but if you’ve got thick hair they can be quite unruly. If you have thin hair on the other hand you’ll be able to effortlessly pull of this sleek style and look fabulous. Emma’s thin hair contributes to how neat her ponytail to as it will with you. Plus, notice her highlights and how it changes the flow of her hair.

41. Kiera Knightley Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Sleek, Long Pixie Haircut b5a073ed09c1424e94ceb6011c72ed7a

Kiera’s long pixie haircut really works with her thin hair. It’s sleek and stylish and makes her look casual and professional all at once. She has a very slim face but don’t be put off if you have a round face – chances are you’ll actually be able to wear this style better. Her zig zag parting really livens up the style as it adds some texture to her hair and even a touch of volume. Plus, note how the ends of her hair flick out rather than in – this is a great trick for adding extra volume in seconds.

42. Cameron Diaz Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Natural Medium Cut b6edfb228a5bd341ad5cb92a86f8b0af

This medium length cut looks great if you have a heart shaped face and really makes the most of your sleek hair. This is a great style as it’s really easy to maintain and you have the option of tying your hair up if you want to as well. I mentioned highlights and how her can add texture to your hair earlier however here Cameron is going au natural and she looks fabulous for it. It just goes to show that you don’t always have to style your hair using fancy methods to stand out.

43. Gwyneth Paltrow Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Windswept Long Hair b7d9813ac82478e3849ebc66ebbccef7

Windswept is always a great look but it works even better if you have thin hair as your hair will still look rough and stylish but it’s thin enough to still look neat. To create this style you’re best adding a bit of product to your hands and running it through your hair. You can rough it up any way you like and make it as wild or as tame as you please. This is definitely a style to experiment with. You can try this at any hair length but personally I think this long length looks great! Also, don’t be afraid to try this look with bangs either.

44. Kate Hudson Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Untamed Waves b5553268966232c4220e9e706131ddf8

All too often we see waves which are neat and uniform but here Kate Hudson has stepped away from that and is wearing her unruly waves beautifully. The waves add loads of texture to her hair and plenty of volume so it doesn’t matter that her hair is thin and the fact that her waves are so untamed only enhances the appearance. This style works best for people with medium to long hair and you’ll be pleased to hear it works on any face shape too.

45. Scarlett Johnasson Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Cute Bangs cf5bb3f01bb5c2e1301f76ea72d001b8

Bangs work for most people but personally I’ve always thought they work better on thin hair as they’re more tameable. Here Scarlett shows us her cute, rounded bangs. Note that they look thick yet they don’t look heavy – this is because of her thin hair. Of course this style doesn’t work for everyone and it’s best steered clear of if you have too thin a face but if you have a heart shaped face you’re golden.

46. Jennifer Lawrence Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Untamed Pixie Cut d0cc4ed23812f187fb07ebfdbf172c09

I’ll be the first to admit that I was devastated when J. Law cut off all her beautiful long hair and replaced it with her pixie cut. That said, it didn’t take me long to get over it after seeing how fabulous she now looks. While her hair isn’t incredibly thin, it’s not what you’d call thick either. This is perhaps why her pixie cut works so well when it’s all roughed up like this. This style works best if you have a slim face but different variations of it do work on round faces too so don’t be scared to experiment. This is also a great look is you have highlights as they add an extra look of depth to your style.

47. Gwyneth Paltrow Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Sleek Ponytail d9bc508eceb57b00e49181c293029c3d

Styles like this is why you should love your thin hair. Sure, everyone can wear a ponytail but it doesn’t work quite this well on thick hair. Gwen’s ponytail is smooth, sleek, professional, an completely natural. If you’ve got thin hair they you don’t need to fuss with straighteners, just grab your hairband and your brush and you’re near good to go. You can pull this hair off if you have bangs like we saw Emma Stone do earlier too but by pulling all your hair back you make this is a style any face shape can wear. This is perfect for wearing to the office, at a party, or even when you’re just lounging in the house.

48. Kate Hudson Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Long, Sleek, With A Center Parting df6225ac3ee8e5de2a24c799ede6c6f6

Kate Hudson’s thin hair looks fabulous here. She’s simply letting it flow and making it look like it’s been styled for hours, even though her thin hair is naturally straight. Her centre parting really helps her look  as it creates a balance so no one side of her hair looks to heave and no one side looks overly thin. This style is so easy to create, works for any hair length and face shape, and incredibly natural. You can always add a few layers to this style to make it look more interesting but personally I love it sleek and straight like Kate’s.

49. Hayden Panettiere Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Cute, A Line Bob e9ee38c213852e14aca4d9ee46fdfbda

Hayden has quite a round face yet she pulls off this A line bob perfectly. The reason? Her thin hair of course! It means her hair doesn’t look too thick therefore doesn’t make her face look wider. Instead she winds up looking elegant, chic, sassy, and oh so stylish. This is perhaps her best look! Plus, this style works really well as she’s so short. It means her hair isn’t cutting her body in half and makes her look taller than she is – a great tip for those of you who are short like me!

50.Vanessa Anne Hudgens Hairstyle For Thin Hair: Short and Curled f6a18ffc49a29ed07ec4c7ba5c5e1e10

And finally we come to our last picture where Vanessa Anne Hudgens shows off her sleek, short curls. The reason this style works so well for thin hair is because it adds an awful lot of volume in just a small space, transforming her look instantly. If you’ve got a round face you may want to stay away from this look but for those of you with a heart or an oval shaped face this look is bound to suit you. Experiment with curl tightness to see what different looks you can create too.

So there you have it, fifty fantastic hairstyles for those of you with thin hair. Don’t repair over your fine hair any longer, choose one of these fifty styles and your hair will suddenly look luscious like it was meant to. I bet you were surprised by how many celebs have thin hair just like you too – I certainly was – but it’s proof as to how a grew style can transform your look. It seems like all of a sudden summer is right around the corner which means it’s time we prepared ourselves for summer sun, beach parties, late nights, and getting ourselves nicely tanned. And what would summer be without some great summer hairstyles to show off while we enjoy endless days on the beach? If you’re stuck for some inspiration when it comes to summer hairstyles then have no fear, I’ve been doing some digging to come up with fifty awesome hairstyles that will ensure you look gorgeous this summer. This list is a true mix – I’ve found styles for long hair, medium length hair, pixie cut hair, colourful hair… You name it, I’ve found it! Whether you’re preparing to hit festival after festival, are packing for a summer holiday, or are simply looking forward to sunny days spent with friends then you ought to check out these fifty awesome hairstyles, each of them worn by your favourite celebrities. Here goes, enjoy!

1. Jennifer Lawrence Summer Hairstyle: Classic Beach Waves

0b545d1cd527c396db170aa973566240

Of course, no list of summer hairstyles would be complete without mentioning classic beach waves. This in my opinion is the perfect summer style. It’s quick, it’s easy, it looks great, it doesn’t matter if it gets a little windswept (in fact it probably looks better then!), and it works no matter your face shape or what type of bangs you have. Provided your hair is long enough to add waves to there’s no reason you can’t do this classic summer style.

2. Nina Dobrev Summer Hairstyle: Classic Pontyail

0d54d2553e049f7f7f555fb4c177ab43

I love being outside during summer, as I’m sure most of you do. There’s just something about the warm air and the gentle breeze that I find alluring. The biggest problem with being outdoors so much however is that you’ll find your hair all too often gets tangled from being exposed to the wind. This makes it unruly and often sore to brush out. To combat this, why not use a classic summer ponytail? You will look great, your hair doesn’t get tangled, plus more of your skin will be exposed for tanning.

3. Nicole Kidman Summer Hairstyle: Slick Ponytail

0e37589d1870669de9a5668a7a8cd03b

For some people a classic ponytail just isn’t stylish enough, plus it still exposes you to the risk of a few strands of hair being windswept. Still, a ponytail is a great idea if you’re facing a windy, summer day so why not try out this slick ponytail? By pulling your hair back ever tighter you’re creating a sleek look which is virtually untouchable by the wind. Plus, more of your skin is exposed for tanning as I mentioned earlier. The one downside I’ll point out is that you shouldn’t wear this style too often or it could damage your hair.

4. Hilary Duff Summer Hairstyle: Rockchick Waves

1fa8c1feda8dfef988b07d057e2acb7d

This is the perfect hairstyle whether you’re thinking of hitting a festival or are just going for a stroll on the beach. It looks somewhat similar to classic beach waves but with a little more attitude. The overall effect doesn’t have to be quite as precise and it doesn’t matter if some curls and waves are smaller than others. By pulling some strands back like Hilary Duff you’re exposing your face more, allowing you to get a summer glow, and you’re adding to the rock chick style. Rule number one of this look – don’t worry if it’s a little bit messy, it will just enhance your look.

5. Rachel McAdams Summer Hairstyle: Choppy Bob With Coloured Highlights

3b5a1ef668c0d9cf25b7665326527a24

I’m a massive fan of the choppy bob hairstyle like Rachel McAdams is modelling above. It’s great because you can style it anyway you like meaning it’s suitable for any face shape. If you’ve got long hair and are considering a change this summer I highly recommend this style. Plus, why not try adding a splash of colour to really bring your style to life too? Or maybe a few colours? This is a fab idea if you’re going to a festival!

6. Hilarie Burton Sumer Hairstyle: Permed

3b097ae3701a9247043c3964794533e6

Curls seem to be all the rage when summer time comes around. Some people find themselves spending hours daily curling their hair and so I ask you, why not get your hair permed so it’s permanently curled (or at least for a few months). That way you’ll have loads more time to spend enjoying the summer sun. Hilarie Burton looks great with her tight curls but some people don’t suit them. If you’ve got a rounder face you’d likely suit loose curls better. Before taking the plunge consult your stylist on what type of curls would suit you best.

7. Drew Barrymore Summer Hairstyle: Flower Up Do and Coloured Hair

3fad91781522bf4d6bc89b45caa87066

If you’re looking for a truly unique style to hit the festivals with then you’ll love this summer flower up do. All you need to do to create it is to pull all your hair back and tie it into a messy bun and simply slide your favourite summer flowers in around the crown. To make the most of this effect why not dye your hair a startling colour like Drew Barrymore has done. This will create a truly memorable summer look.

8. Sophie Turner Summer Hairstyle: Simple Elegance

4d705e2ba88617cec273514d4173e5d3

If you don’t have much time to do your hair before heading out into the sun then why not do something really simple like Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner. She looks beautiful and ready to take on summer here yet with minimal effort. All you need to do to create this look is brush out your hair, sweep ones side of it behind your ear and pin it in place with a delicate sum me flower.

9. Selena Gomez Summer Hairstyle: Half Waves

5abeb1be68ad49b1e4b2874786402c55

If you’ve got a round or heart shapes face you might find that a full head of waves is too much of you. In that case a flattering alternative is to have only half your head waved. This means only waving or curling the bottom half of your hair and straightening the top half. This is far more flattering to round face shapes yet still gives you a great summer look.

10. Rihanna Summer Hairstyle: Bold, Accessorised Up Do

5b276667df0e95e97ecdb2587e33892f

If you fancy a real stand out summer style then this is a great look to do for. There are so many great thing about this style of Rihanna’s! Firstly, her bold choice of colour is perfect for summer. Secondly, her curled up do just screams ‘festival’. And thirdly, she’s done a great job of accessorising her style a her wonderfully summery bow. Note how she’s matched her bow colour to her hair – this is a tip you should always follow when style. Make sure the colour of your accessory is suitable.

11. Emily Osment Summer Hairstyle: Delicate Braid with Layers

6d13e5e2689979cd09998aecb88fb26b

I love seeing long, chunky braids in summer time – it’s a great festival style – but never fear if your hair isn’t long enough to do this, there is a great alternative. This style by Emily Osment is the perfect way to still wear a summer braid even if you have fine, layered hair. Note how she’s only braided the underside of her hair, creating a delicate braid, and had gently curled her top layers. This creates a truly dynamic loco with tonnes of texture.

12. Nina Dobrev Summer Hairstyle: Centre Braid

6ea6182e7efda157cc5983158b7039f9

Here Nina Dobrev is wearing is beautiful braid which spawns from the centre of her head, not the side as you often see. Note how she’s teased the braid to make it look thicker. This is a great look if you want a style a little less intrusive than a side braid or if you have medium length hair too.

13. Kate Hundson Summer Hairstyle: Sleek and Straight

6edf21a8757355e9ed608e5d610bdf42

Of course there’s no rule that says summer hairstyles have to be complicated. Take Kate Hudson’s look here for example. All she’s done is gently straightened her hair, making it look sleek, stylish, and effortless. This is a great choice for a summer style if you don’t have much time to work on your hair. Plus, it’s a great all year round look too so you need not stop wearing it come fall. Even better, this look can be pulled off no matter your face shape or your hair length.

14. Miley Cyrus Summer Hairstyle: Long Curls

6f3efc0761f8f2215035cae6ed878edb

This is one of my favourite styles of all time – long curls. In my opinion, curls look fab no matter the season and on any length hair but there’s no denying that Miley looks great here with he flowing locks. If you’ve got highlighted hair or are looking to get them then I definitely recommend this style. This is a great look for summer as it’s a simple twist on beach waves.

15. Miley Cyrus Summer Hairstyles: Thick Side Braid

7ccc7da2cf0fd6f3c3527a39baf22c11

Remember before when I told you about thick side braids? Well this is them! Doesn’t it look great? To make the most of this look don’t strive to make your braid look printing. It looks even better if you have a few fly aways and your layers are allowed to flow freely like Miley’s. This is a style that works for most face shapes but you’ll find it works best on round and heart shapes faces. Try playing with your bangs in this style to see where they look best too.

16. Rachel Bilson Summer Hairstyle: Half Up Do

7e0b494f7007a6f64a8c4a0c8bae019e

This is a fab style for summer as it takes mere minutes to do, giving you more time to spend in the sun, plus it gets hair off your face so you can soak up a summer glow. There are lots of variations of this style but the best is this classic, simple style shown here by Rachel Bilson. Why not try experimenting by curling your loose hair and pinning the top of your hair back in different ways?

17. Selena Gomez Summer Hairstyle: Loose Layers

8cd62dec474eeb80b4b71bc344c54a7c

If it’s a windy day but you don’t want to tie all of your hair back then this is a great alternative. Just tie back the majority of your hair but leave your layers to flow freely in the breeze. Selena Gomez really rocks this look, doesn’t she? Especially with her curled layers!

18. Scarlett Johansson Summer Hairstyle: Side Swept, Wavy Bob

51d9d4c870378ad8b34dfe95a138ac32

Bobs are perfect for summer as they’re easy to maintain and expose more of your skin to the sun. I love Scarlett Johansson’s style here – her wavy bob looks fab and the fact thats she’s swept her hair into a side parting makes the style look even better. She’s really captured a lot of texture and volume in her look. This look is best work if you have a slim face.

19. Sophie Turner Summer Hairstyle: Slicked Back

If you have an important event where you need to look your best (prom or a wedding for example) you should give this look a go. It doesn’t matter how long your hair is or what shape your face is, you’ll be able to pull this look off perfectly. It’s sleek, it’s sexy, and it just screams elegance.

20. Hillary Duff Summer Hairstyle: Rough Ponytail

061d88cb56c0603e7434017095f6b85d

This is perhaps the perfect summer ponytail as it’s quick, easy, and looks so stylish. All you need to do to create it is brush through your hair and then pull it all back into a rough ponytail with your fingers. Don’t worry if it’s not perfect, that’s the whole point! If you can, try to keep you bangs hanging loose too. This is a great festival look.

21. Emma Roberts Summer Hairstyle: Carefree with a Side Parting

68ed285417906bb7f29414d9be6f7abd

This style is incredibly stylish despite only taking a few minutes to do. All you have to do is brush your hair through, create a dramatic side parting, and sweep your hair over one shoulder. This is a fab look if you’re wearing a top with a fancy back too s it really shows it off.

22. Demi Lovato Summer Hairstyle: Bright Dip Dye

73f2780e83f129f18d1c34b93ede02d4

If you’re looking for a style to really make a statement then look no further! Dip dying is all the rage just now but forget about natural colours. Summer is coming which means it’s time to be bold, be bright, and be free. Here Demi shows us a beautiful shade of pink but depending on your skin tone and natural hair colour you could look just as good with blue, green, purple, orange, anything! The choice is yours!

23. Kristen Bell Summer Hairstyle: Trilby Hat

96c31fdda4e555629de8331dd14041a1

Just because it’s no longer cold out doesn’t mean you have to stash all your hats in the attic. There are plenty of hats you can wear even now that it’s summer time! Take Kristen Bell in this trilby for example, she looks fabulous and ready to take on the sun. Depending on your face shape and hairstyle I suggest you try on a number of hats to see what suits you. Oh, and try to always expose as much of your hair as possible as this will really make your look pop.

24. Scarlett Johansson Summer Hairstyle: Delicate Hairband

99b5e15c42ad9bbaffe5c1312571fc22

One of the biggest problems with wearing your hair down is keeping it out of your face – sound about right? If it does then why not make like Scarlett Johansson this summer and make use of a simple accessory to push your hair out of your eyes while you take in the sight of all the festivals and sandy white beaches. It’s a great way to add volume to the rest of your hair as you can see too.

25, Vanessa Anne Hudgens Summer Hairstyle: Dip Dyed Locks and a Summer Hat

493cf7adab2de44ebb5c2cf4026a4c9d

Vanessa looks completely festival ready here, I’m sure you’ll agree. Her purple cowboy hat looks fab with her summer outfit and helps to protect her from the sun. Make note of her lovely, natural dip dyed locks too. With her beautiful hair, cowboy hat, and sunglasses it looks as though she doesn’t have a care in the world.

26. Emma Roberts Sumer Hairstyle: Curls and Polkadots

660a2164ba0e2c4ff5bb5ec2716562da

Wearing a chic headband like Emma Roberts is a sure way to set your look alight this summer. Her polkadot headband looks fab and is a classic look that will never go out of fashion. Headbands are a great way to sweep your hair off your face while spicing up your look. No matter your hair length or face shape this is a look you ought to try!

27. Scarlett Johansson Summer Hairstyle: Messy Bun

3530cda8a0724be7183d620526b99e2b

Simply throwing your hair into a messy bun is a great summer look. It’s quick, it’s easy, and it allows you to pull your hair back so more of your skin can soak up the summer sun. Don’t panic if you don’t have long hair, as you can see Scarlett’s hair isn’t long either. This makes for some interesting fly aways that in my opinion only enhance the look. It’s summer, not a court meeting, why would you want to worry about being perfect?

28. Kirsten Dunst Summer Hairstyle: Pinned Back Sides

7693ce15ea3e87578100496758bde011

This is a great look that’s truly effortless. Kirsten’s delicate waves have been pinned back off her face using cute, white pins whig reveals her face and adds volume to the rest of her hair. Note how her bangs are left to fall across her face, something which helps to soften her look. The longer your hair the better for this look but of course it has many variations so don’t be afraid to play around no matter your hair length.

29. Kaley Cuoco Summer Hairstyle: Braided Up Do

36430e0f746c41299ad5b8639cec18fa

You may need a little help if you’re thinking of trying to create a braided up do but it’s completely worth the hassle. While this isn’t an everyday look, this style is perfect for a formal evening somewhere. If you have a thin face try sweeping all your hair back but if you have a round face then leaving a few stands of hair down to frame it will really enhance this summer look.

30. Emilia Clarke Summer Hairstyle: Low Sleek Ponytail

60463cf52518b776071b346b16f24c9a

I don’t know about you, but every time I try to do a normal ponytail I find myself fiddling on for ages because it keeps slipping. That’s where the low ponytail comes in handy. This is a great alternative that still gets your hair out of your face without all the fuss. Plus, it really shows off the length of your hair, something I love about it. The biggest downside is that you need to have medium to long hair to pull off this style so it’s a no go if you have short hair. If you’re trying this style, the sleeker the better as unruly hair doesn’t often work in a low ponytail.

31.Rachel Bilson Summer Hairstyle: Natural Dip Dye

07997082853f694f83f8b1673faaef08

I Mentioned before about bright dip byes but don’t be discouraged by the style if you don’t want pink hair. There’s nothing wrong with doing for a more natural tone like Rachel Bilson has done. It looks great, is still bright and summery, plus you don’t need to worry about if your boss will allow it either!

32.Selena Gomez Summer Hairstyle: Extreme Side Parting and Volume

a4182ddd249c1112712f013559b0e198

Before we move on, I think we should just take a moment to appreciate how flawless Selena Gomez looks in this picture, something I’m attributing to the great lighting, her natural beauty, and not to mention her incredible hairstyle. She’s swished her long hair into an extreme side ponytail, create tonnes of volume and an asymmetrical look which makes her look chic and fearsome. No matter the length of your hair you should try brushing your hair over like this, you’ll likely be surprised at the results. Plus, this style means you get to look chic as you run your hands through your hair to maintain it too!

33. Kirsten Dunst Summer Hairstyle: Summer Accessories and a Curled Up Do

a93431d7e9d21901ea77243e1a8e99ed

How great does Kirsten look here? And so summery! It seems she’s picked out the ultimate summer accessory to go with her summer up do. While we may avoid over the top accessories for the rest of the year it seems to me that summer is the time for expression so make the most of them. Choose an accessory that really compliments your hair and eye colour, something that makes you stand out.

34. Kirsten Dunst Summer Hairstyle: Full Frings

ab39447b06613df2325370fffb6f6e43

If you’re looking for a quick change from summer then why not invest in a full fringe? A full fringe can instantly change your face shape and ultimately your entire look. If you’ve got a small forehead then this is a great look for you as it will stop your hair from falling in your eyes and will make your forehead look longer.

35. Emma Watson Summer Hairstyle: Rugged Bob

b6c1c85c67bc468331d74090fafe1536

Emma Watsons rugged bob is incredibly suit and makes the most of the bob style mixed with classic beach waves too. This style is loos best if you have a delicate face shape and a sharp bone structure.

36. Jennifer Lawrence Summer Hairstyle: Side Bun

bb6b06b88cc437366abc3a8766b49c4e

Side buns are perfect for summer. They’re quick, easy, stylish, and simply a little different. They’re not as straightforward as usual buns and you can throw them up in seconds while you hang out on the beach. While Jen has no bangs here, you have complete creative control with this style so style your bangs however suits you.

37. Shilaine Woodley Summer Hairstyle: Brushed Through

c7dbb856e348ddd29328ad52b24f823f

And who says you have to spend ages styling your hair anyway? There are days when you simply don’t have time, or you’d rather be out enjoying the summer sun instead. In this case simply grab your brush, detangle your hair, and head out your front door. Explore your natural beauty and let your hair flow freely.

38. Kiera Knightley Summer Hairstyle: A Line Bob

c98d31f41d1b90c906447346d0a6b96b

If you’ve got a delicate face shape then an A line bob is sure to do wonders for your look. They’re great for bringing out the best in all your features and exposing your skin to the sun. Having them a little rugged like Kiera’s is a great choice as it makes them look chic yet not too serious.

Can’t decide on one particular colour to brighten your look this summer? That’s okay, you don’t have to! Simply make like Katy Perry and throw all your favourite colours in there. The result will be bright, bold, and undeniably beautiful. Admittedly you have to have guts to do this but it’s well worth it!

40. Jennifer Lawrence Summer Hairstyle: Fluffy Bangs

cf35531287a3a4eefc9f0bb27b93c201

Some people don’t like heavy bangs but that’s okay. Instead why not try this great alternative? Jen’s bangs are fluffy and light, giving her the same great look without having to sacrifice the length of as much of her hair. This look is perfect for heart shaped faces.

41. Sophia Bush Summer Hairstyle: Side Braid

d3e57b8e25002acffd478ea79d5bb74b

Not sure what to do with your bangs? Pinning them back in a side braid is a great option. It looks so chic, is perfect for festivals, and it saves them from falling in your face as you swim in the sea or chill on the beach. You don’t even have to worry about styling the rest of your hair either as this makes for a great boho style.

42. Jennifer Lawrence Summer Hairstyle: Pixie Cut

d9d22df548d4f1e55efc72635316746c

Summer is a great time for installing change so why not take a deep breath and get a pixie cut. They’re so cute, great as they’re light for summer, and believe it or not you can style them numerous ways. I know,  I know, it’s a scary idea but I’m sure you’ll agree it looks fab!

d13a8ed8ec9cb6e7112bd5d7b6b5556c

I love Vanessa Hudgen’s hippy look here and I’m sure you’ll agree she looks so summery and festival ready. Her tight curls and flowery headband screams summer and sixties all at once, making her look like she was born to be a festival goer. I can’t wait to try this style!

44. Demi Lovato Summer Hairstyle: Be Bold

d4472ef63f9ebfa8697b833f8c3d14dd

Summer to me simply means sun and bright colours, something Demi has captured perfectly here. Her gorgeous purple hair shows that she’s ready for summer and filled with confidence. Of course, you don’t have to go with purple. Choose any colour you like – blue, green, pink, you name it!

45. Emilia Clarke Summer Hairstyle: Beach Ready

dd34c13628a9ddf4e862b328582afe5f

I love Emilia Clarke’s effortless look here. Sure, she’s not done much with her hair to create a style but I’m sure you’ll agree she looks perfect for the beach. If you’re hitting the beach don’t worry about your hair, as soon as you get in the water you’ll have the perfect look anyway!

46.Hayden Panettiere Summer Hairstyle: Short Ponytail

e2c54e44f727ba64c038ff116a443413

Hayden may not have the longest hair but she looks fab with her short ponytail. This look works best if you have a delicate face and you can pull all your hair back but it’s worth trying even if you have a round face and bangs too.

47. Natalie Dormer Summer Hairstyle: Zig-Zag Parting

ea1dc7db82d6da78aed5674881c442fb

Natalie Dormer looks fab with her chic zig-zag parting. It’s a great look for summer as it looks so fresh and unique. This is a style anyone can pull of no matter their face shape and even something you can add to ponytails too. It’s definitely worth experimenting with.

48.Hayden Panettiere Summer Hairstyle: Soft and Sleek

Are you looking for inspiration on how to wear your bangs? Ideas for a new haircut? If so then you’ve come to the right place! Here are fifteen different styles of bangs to get you thinking, each of them worn by a beautiful celebrity to give you an idea of how they’ll look. Enjoy!

1. Side Swept Bangs: Emma Stone

Types of Bangs _ 01

Side swept bangs are by far the most popular type of bangs, most likely because they’re so versatile and suit most any page shape. Plus, if you wear them long enough they can often be swept up into your ponytail which is an added bonus. Emma Stone looks fantastic with her side swept bangs. I love the way they sweep across her eyes and frame her face. This look is perfect for those of you with an oval face.

2. Short Blunt Bangs: Katy Perry

Types of Bangs _ 02

If you fancy being a bit more daring then why not try wearing short, blunt bangs. This look sin’t for everyone but if you can rock it then you’re sure to make a statement. This look can be pulled off whether you’ve got long or short hair, though personally I prefer it with long hair as the contrast makes a real statement. Still, I love Katy Perry’s short blunt bangs with her bob. This is one of her best looks if you ask me.

3. Blunt Bangs: Taylor Swift

Types of Bangs _ 3

Taylor Swift has tried her bangs most every way but few types of bangs suit her long, slender face as much as blunt bangs. The bold, straight cut which sits just above her eyes draws attention to her beautiful face and sits well with her long hair. I also love the fact that she’s added a side parting opposed to a middle one which is more traditional. Don’t be afraid to experiment.

4.Fringe Bangs: Dianna Agron

Types of Bangs_4

Dianna Agron is one of my all time favourite celebrities. I just can’t get over how beautiful she is. And her hair is to die for! I simply love her with a fringe (though maybe I’m bias because it’s the style of hair I’ve got!). Her fine fringe really suits her round face and brings out the best of all her features. Her fringe is long however not too long and doesn’t risk hiding her gorgeous eyes.

5.Long Fringe Bangs: Kirsten Dunst

Types of Bangs _5

Kirsten Dunst has worn her bangs in countless ways but this is probably her best look. Not everyone can pull off a long fringe but Kirsten looks great. This look is great for adding a bit of mystery to your style. Personally, I think long bangs like these are best work with long hair however I’ve seen people wear them with a pixie cut and still look awesome so be as creative as you dare.

6.Choppy Bangs: Reese Witherspoon

Types of Bangs _6

This is by far Reese Witherspoon’s best look. I love her choppy bangs and layered hair, it truly does look fantastic yet it seems to me that not enough people are brave enough to try this look out on themselves. This style is great for adding a bit of an edge to your look and saves you from becoming a plain Jane. This look is great if you have highlights or lowlights too as they help to bring out the ruggedness in your look. Admittedly this look isn’t for everyone but if you can pull it off then I say don’t hold back.

7.U-Shaped Bangs: Lea Michelle

Types of Bangs _9

U-shaped bangs look great and really bring an elegance to your look. It’s a style Lea Michelle wears quite often and as you can see she looks stunning with it. The great think about this style is that it’s not permanent and you can simply have a fringe and then curl it into a U shape, making this a truly versatile style of bangs. It’s definitely worth trying at least once.

8.Asymmetrical Bangs: Anne Hathaway

Types of Bangs _14

I love asymmetrical bangs! It’s such a great look. When Anne Hathaway chopped off her gorgeous locks for her role in Les Miserables I was worried however it all trend out okay as it opened her up to countless new looks, asymmetrical bangs included. Personally, I think this is a style everyone should try once as most everyone suits this look in one variation or another. This is a great look no matter your face shape or hair length so why not give it a try?

9.Pixie Cut Bangs: Carey Mulligan

Types of Bangs _12

Carey Mulligan looks incredible with a pixie cut and it’s fast becoming her statement look. Don’t panic that having a pixie cut means you can’t have bangs too however. Here Carey proves otherwise with incredible style. She’s shows off a variety of different bang styles with her pixie cuts over the years, proving that pixie cuts are no one trick pony. If you’ve got a pixie cut or are considering getting a one then I suggest you give this great look a try.

10.Parted Bangs: Rachel McAdams

Types of Bangs _7

Rachel McAdams is by far my favourite actress so you’ll have to forgive me for being more than a little bias on this one. She looks stunning with parted bangs and they frame her face beautifully. This style is great with medium to long hair however if you’ve got short hair you might want to consider another style. If, like me, you’ve got quite a small forehead this style may not suit you however as your hair will fall across your face too much.

11.Convertible Bangs: Hilary Duff

Types of Bangs _10

Convertible bangs! What a great idea! Some styles of bangs such as Hilary Duff’s can easily be converted into more than one style, completely transforming your look with just a stroke of the brush. Convertible bangs are great if you easily get bored with your style and would like a change more often than you’re due at the hairdressers or quicker than your hair can grow. If you’re looking for convertible bangs my best suggestion is to have an ultra long fringe as this can be worn as a full fringe, as U shaped bangs, it can be parted down the middle, and even side swept.

12.Round Bangs: Rachel McAdams

Types of Bangs _11

This is a great style as it really frames your face. I love the way round bangs neatly slide around your eyebrows and gently slope to frame your face. In my opinion if you’re likely to be tying your hair up a lot this type of bangs will suit you best. If you’ve got a small forehead this type of bang looks fantastic too (not that I’m bias as it’s what I’ve got or anything!).

13.Brow Skimming Bangs: Reese Witherspoon

Types of Bangs _8

Brow skimming brows are fab as they give the illusion of a long bangs without you having to worry about having hair in your face constantly. Plus, it also means you can straighten your bangs, adding length to them, and your bangs will still be a nice, manageable length.

14.Funky Bangs: Rihanna

Types of Bangs _13

Having bangs doesn’t have to be boring and ordinary. In fact bangs can be incredibly funky, it’s just a case of getting create and finding it within yourself to be bold. Take Rihanna for instance – here she is with a simple pixie cut yet she’s completely transformed her hair by curling her usual side swept bangs and making them look completely different. I love this look, it’s one of my favourite looks on her, and if you can pull of curls I highly suggest you try this with your bangs no matter the length of the rest of your hair.

15.Pompadour Bangs: Miley Cyrus

Types of Bangs _15

Here’s another celebrity who’s transformed their bangs (and their pixie cut) to create a while new look. Here Miley has swept her nags up so they look like pompadour bangs which has resulted in a completely new look for her. This is a great look if you’re feeling bold!
