Thanks to our emotional disposition, we females are more inclined to digging romantic flicks than our male counterparts. And it’s something that should definitely not be used against us! On the contrary, it adds more tenderness, sensitivity and empathy to our natural loving nature.

 74. Memoirs of a Geisha (2005)

Chiyo is a pretty, young orphan who is forced by circumstances to become a Geisha, a fancy term for a Japanese entertainer. She meets a much elder, respectable gentleman who treats her kindly and vows to herself to meet him again. After struggling with strict rivalry and the demands of her occupation, Chiyo, who is now known as Sayuri, meets him again… but her heart just as much as her body, does not belong to her hands.

Johnny’s beginning is told here: serving in the army, teaching himself to play the guitar and marrying his teenage sweetheart. But as he is catapulted into stardom, he succumbs into drugs and alcohol. He meets June Carter whom he becomes completely enamored with. She rejects him several times. Lord Marke of Cornwall reigns as the king of Britain in the Dark Ages. He raises Tristan, an orphan of his loyal supporters. The latter grows to be a strong, handsome warrior and the two regard each other as father and son. After what seems a fatal battle, Tristan is carried ashore to Ireland where he is nursed by Princess Isolde. After shocking himself with an electric blower in the tub, Nick finds himself able to hear the thoughts of women—damn right—even the thoughts of his female poodle. He uses this to advance his career but he also develops newfound friendship with (and understanding) of his female colleagues. He gets attracted to Darcy McGuire whose hiring blocks Nick’s anticipated promotion. Is hearing the mind the same with understanding the heart?
