1. Find the Perfect Blog Name

This can be trickier than you make realize. Naming a blog can be more difficult than naming your own child! You want a name that will last and grow with you, as you grow as a traveler and eventually become a travel expert. So, jessicasfirsttrip.com just won’t have the lasting power or authority you need.

Be original. You don’t want to copy off someone else because your blog will be unique to you. Not only that, you want to make waves, not ride someone else’s. With more and more people traveling, you want to make your blog your own.

This also applies to the words you use in your titles. Every travel blogger first starts with the idea of adventure or nomadic notions, but you’re different. What makes your travel different from everyone else’s? Find that and capitalize on it.

Avoid using numbers, odd characters, hyphens, or underscores. If a reader has trouble typing in your blog URL, they might just choose not to.

You also want your URL to be memorable. Which means lasting and easy to remember, so don’t go too complicated. Bounce ideas off your friends and family, see what they think. And don’t get married to your first good idea. Trust their honest feedback and know there’s another great idea right around the corner.

2. Find a Hosting Service for Your Website

Okay, so this is where many potential bloggers turn back, chicken out, throw in the towel. Don’t. You can easily find a hosting service to house your domain name and even help you setup your website. Why do hosting services charge? It’s similar to the relationship between you and your landlord. We tend to forget that everything out there on the internet is comprised of data. 3. Build Your Blog

If your hosting service doesn’t have a template for you to use to build your actual website, you may want to use WordPress, Squarespace, or Wix. They have great step-by-step instructions and templates to choose from.

Keep the appearance of your blog simple and clean. This will make your content easy to find and read.

Get feedback from your boyfriend, family, or friends. Ask them if your website is easy to navigate and if they think it’s attractive. If your website seems cluttered, cut back. Sometimes when we first begin a blog, we want to share and explain everything. This isn’t necessary.

Don’t get carried away. You should have your blog for years to come, which means you have plenty of time to share your best memories with your audience over the years to come.

4. Take the Dive and Write

Your first blog post is going to the hardest. That’s OK. Just write. I suggest you write about your most recent trip and the one you plan on taking next. Explain what your last trip meant to you, not just where you went and what you did, but why it mattered.

5. Choose a Few Great Photos

All successful blogs need photos. And readers expect high-quality bright photos. Make sure you take plenty of snapshots on your trips, but also find some great stock photos to include in your posts.

6. Share, Share, Share

7. Have Fun and Travel

Spain is an amazing country full stop and with the dancing, great food and bustling nightlife, the country already has all the makings for the perfect vacation in Europe. We have now come to the final part of our series. We have come to the final 25 of the top 100 most beautiful places that our planet has to offer us. It’s been a wild adventure and we have gone into deep blue holes in the ocean, up to great peaks on the tops of mountains, glided down waterfalls so high it would seem as if they were coming from space, and seen manmade creations that were so large and intricate, it was almost as if they were too perfect to have been carved by hand.

Let’s see what our final list has to offer us.

76 – Mayan Ruins, Mexico

You’ll find a whole host of things in Mexico but one of the coolest are the series of ancient Mayan temples that are scattered around. The Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico has a number of huge and rambling temples from the Mayan times and among the few that you should try to check out are:

• Chiapas Mexico – Bonampak
• Quintana Roo Mexico – Chacchoben
• Yucatan Mexico – Chichen Itza

This odd looking landmark is now better known as Devils Tower and you can find it in Crook County in the state of Wyoming in the States. It’s a weird rock formation that rises a whopping 1300 feet almost into the sky, making it over five thousand feet above sea level!

Although they are still looking, archeologists aren’t really sure how this strange rock formation actually took place but there are many theories surrounding it. For now it is well known for its climbing, as you can probably imagine, and there was even a parachute jump that went a tad wrong in 1941. The locals believe the tower is sacred and because of this, June is no-climb month. Although you CAN still climb the tower if you want to, over eighty-five percent of the climbers that come here actually stay off the tower for the entire month to respect the local traditions and religious beliefs.

78 – Lau Archipelago, Fiji

Doesn’t the look of this place just simply blow your mind? If there was ever a perfect setting for paradise, surely this place would win that title? You’ve got beautiful blue, crystal clear waters with amazing fish and great snorkeling opportunities. Then you’ve got the white sandy beaches for you to stretch your toe out in and relax. Then, on top of all of that, you’ve got the fact that very few tourists actually make it this far in the world so you’ve pretty much got the island to yourself if you can afford to come here. Set just about two hundred miles from the mainland of Fiji, you won’t be able to get signal on your cell phone, but if you take your camera, you will get photos that will show the memories of a lifetime!

79 – Fjordland National Park, New Zealand

What are you looking for from your next vacation? Are you the kind of person to enjoy jet boating or impressive cave formations? Maybe you like viewing the beautiful stars in a crystal clear night sky? Maybe it’s diving that you prefer to do and new and exciting fish is a must – have for your next vacation destination?

Guess what ladies and gentlemen – Fjordland National Park has all of this and so much more!

Boat cruises, paintballing, kayaking, farm tours, scenic flights, fishing, plenty of marine life, and even quad-biking plus a whole host of family activities are all available in this national park in New Zealand, and if you come here, you will be coming to the largest national park out of all the 14 parks in the entire country. That’s pretty impressive, right?

You’ll need to head for the south island of New Zealand to find this amazing spot and while you’re here, you’re bound to spot some wildlife so it won’t hurt to keep your eyes out. As well as dolphins and seals in the beautiful waters you will find deer, hare, Kakapo and the kiwi!

The Midway Islands are fairly self-explanatory – they fall right in the middle of Asia and North America and if you follow the time line longitudinally from Greenwich in the UK, this is halfway around the world almost exactly! I guess it really does deserve the name!

Now known as a wildlife refuge, it was originally made as famous as it because of a couple of films and documentaries!

81 – Horseshoe Bend, Colorado River, USA

Set in Arizona, you will find the Colorado River which we have already mentioned in our list. This time we come back but for the Horseshoe Bend in the river, not far from the town of Page.

If you head along the US Route 89, you’ll find a great lookout spot that you can see the meander in the river in full force and gives for great photo opportunities. You can hike here too and just 4 miles south of the Glen Canyon dam, you will find the great hiking trail starts here.

82 – Neuschwanstein Castle, Germany

We can’t figure out if this castle is like something out of a horror film or the exact castle that the Beast used to live in, in the Disney film “Beauty and the Beast!”

It’s great, ornate and magnificent, that’s for sure, and if you’ve ever had the privilege of seeing this great castle, you will get an idea of how big we are talking about here.

A 19^th century castle, it would have over 200 rooms if it had been completed, but at the end of it all, only around 15 of them were ever actually finished in their entirety. The castle itself covers sixty-five thousand square feet which, for the record, is absolutely enormous and since it was first opened to the public back in 1886, some 60 million people have paid to view the castle.

Speaking of the Disney reference that we made at the beginning, this castle was actually meant to be the inspiration for the Sleeping Beauty castle in the Disney film, and it has also appeared in plenty of other movies over the years.

83 – Trolltunga, Norway

If you’ve ever wondered what it would feel like to be standing at the edge of the earth, you need to head to Norway. To be more specific, you’ll want to head to a city in Norway called Odda where you will find Trolltunga, literally translated into English as The Troll’s Tongue.

Trolltunga is basically a rock formation that basically stands as a platform that sticks out from the rocks, dangling you almost dangerously thousands of feet above the ravine below. It literally looks like a troll’s tongue hanging out of the side of the cliff face.

It’s a pretty impressive sight to see and a photo opportunity at this amazing place on the planet would be difficult to pass up. The climbing opportunities here obviously stand out and that’s why many people choose to come here to attempt to climb the troll.

84 – Meeru Island, The Maldives

If you’re looking for paradise, you will find it right here at the Meeru Island Resort & Spa in The Maldives.

White sandy beaches – check.

Bungalow-style chalets that are lifted above the water – check.

Crystal clear blue waters – check.

What more could you possibly want from a tropical paradise? Lots of sun, sea and sand… you could be in heaven.

Also known as Meerufenfushi, Meeru Island Resort is just South West from Sri Lanka and is also right on the equator which will give you some idea of the sort of climate you can expect on this tropical beach paradise – yes, that’s right. It’s going to be hot, hot, hot!

In Southern Utah, you will find some of the most beautiful rock formations in the world, especially when you head to a place called Coyote Gulch.

If it’s a hike and camping you’re after from your exciting, warm vacation, you should head to the main canyon, and you can also do overnight hikes here too!

You’ve also got the Jacob’s Hamblin Arch for the perfect photo opportunity, lots of little cascades and waterfalls to cool off in, and the streambeds are perfect for spotting the local wildlife.

86 – Prskalo Waterfall, Serbia

Not just a normal waterfall, this Serbian beauty is a conical shape with a fountain of water, as such, that pours out the top, making it both unique and stunning to look at, all at the same time.

Although unique in nature, there are a few of these odd shaped waterfalls scattered around the world but this one is perhaps the more photographed one of them all.

87 – Erawan National Park, Thailand

550 kilometers of tranquil beauty is what you’ll find if you head towards the Erawan National Park in Thailand. You’ll need to find the Kanchanaburi Province first of all and once you get there, you will soon see what all the fuss is really about. The twelth national park in Thailand, it is certainly something else entirely!

You’ve got some amazing views here but one of the most prominent and the one that most people flock towards is the seven-tiered waterfall. You can get to the top pool if you fancy a 2km hike, and you will need to remember that it can get quite slippery here too so make sure that you pack some comfortable and sensible shoes.

If you fancy a real authentic taste of Thailand, you could stay in one of the run-down hotels that you can find just outside the mouth of the national park but there are some nicer places just slightly further afield if these are too “rough it” for your liking.

88 – Amazon Rain Forest

The Amazon Rain Forest is a beautiful sight not only because it is a massive and diverse range of eco-cultures, but also because it is not going to be around forever. This is especially the case with man cutting chunks of it down all the time and global warming affecting the way that the eco-systems work.

Situated in South American, it would seem that people first stepped foot here over eleven thousand years ago if the fossils and other bits and pieces that they keep digging up is anything to go by. These days the place is perhaps better known for its beautiful span of wildlife and amazing flowers and plants than it’s fossil potential. With beautiful parrots and weird and wonderful frogs combined with monkeys, lizards, bats and much more besides, you could end up spotting more than you bargained for if you were to come here.

We’ve seen a few UNESCO World Heritage Sites in our quest to find the 100 Most Beautiful Places in the world and now we have come to perhaps one of the ones with the saddest of tales.

Just travel a little way out of Naples and you will find a place called Campania not far out. This is where Pompeii is – one of the saddest cities in the world. Way, way back in AD 79, a massive volcano, also called Pompeii erupted and basically buried the entire town underneath a cloud of lava and ash. It most definitely wouldn’t have been a pretty sight and it killed most of the people that lived there.

You can come and visit the spooky and eerie streets of Pompeii for about eleven Euros for the one day pass. You can rent a bile when you get here if you want but the paths are rather uneven and walking is the best way to get around. If you want to come here, you must bring sensible shoes and prepare to be on your feet for a while.

While you’re at Pompeii there are a couple of landmarks that you should try and spot here. One of these is the amphitheatre which is in the Eastern part of the city, and just opposite this you will find the gym or Great Palaestra as it is locally known. The Temple of Apollo is another place definitely not to be missed here and while you’re here, you may as well head on over to see the Theatre that once seated over five thousand people!

90 – Engadin Valley, Switzerland

In the Swiss Alps you will find a place so charming and breathtaking, it would be hard to believe that such a beautiful place could exist on our over-populated and heavily polluted planet. In Southwest Switzerland, you will find the Engadin Valley – a valley definitely deserves a lot of time and plenty of photographs.

You can do plenty of stuff here and the fact that there are mountains both sides of the valleys keep the weather relatively warm and pleasant for the most part. Alongside the plentiful outdoor activities you can enjoy here, there are four beautiful lakes to explore also, giving you more things that you will have time to do should you decide to visit here!

91 – Watkins Glen Waterfall, New York

It’s hard to believe that such a wild and tranquil place could exist in New York – a city renowned for the Sex and the City style shopping and the hustle and bustle of busy streets over the beautiful birds singing in the tall trees and water gushing from small rocks and mountains.

The fact of the matter is that such a beautiful place does exist right there in New York, as lnog as you head north-westerly.

Set in the village of Watkins Glen, as the name would suggest, the waterfall runs through Seneca Lake and in fact, you will find many small waterfalls here to delight and amaze you. If you love the tranquility and appeal of places like Niagara Falls but don’t want to travel quite so far and live in the states, you couldn’t do worse than this beautiful little place.

There’s plenty to do here with quaint picnic areas and lush camping grounds. There’s even a swimming pool for those that want a bit of a cleaner jump in water than the surroundings offered by the waterfalls and local glen.

92 – Las Vegas, USA

Oh come on – who doesn’t want to go Vegas? As well as the lights and the gambling, entertainment, luxury and breathtaking displays of elegance, you have some of the coolest things to do on the planet. There’s the Stratosphere with the rollercoaster rides that are literally one thousand feet in the air. There’s bungee jumping, stage shows, musicals, shopping… you name it, you can find it right here in the Nevada Desert.

We simply don’t have enough time in the world to tell you how amazing Las Vegas is but we do suggest that you ask anyone that has ever been there how they found their trip. Most of them will say that they positively adored it here!

Also, recent news has announced the largest Ferris wheel in the world being opened right here in Las Vegas with a giant ride that takes about half an hour to get fully around, 55 storeys high. Just like everything else in this crazy place – it had to be big and it had to be beautiful!

93 – Phi Phi Islands, Thailand

If you want to find yourself a little piece of paradise, you need to head to the beautiful and remote islands of Phi Phi in Thailand. It nestles nicely between the western Strait of Malacca coast and also the island of Phuket.

This place now has National Park status which means that the beauty is somewhat protected from over-zealous tourists, but still it attracts a fair few visitors every year. The clean beaches and amazing waters is what lures most people here and with kayaking, snorkeling, diving and other recreational marine activities up for grabs, there’s no denying it’s a beautiful tourist hotspot.

94 – Christ the Redeemer, Rio de Janeiro

Back to some man-made beauty and we come to something that almost marvels the Statue of Liberty in breathtaking size and vastness. Set in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, we have Christ the Redeemer – a very big statue of Jesus Christ himself.

It’s definitely big – it not only reaches heights of around 100 feet tall and weighs in as the fifth largest status of Jesus in the entire world, it’s also on top of hill which just makes it appear even more intimidating still.

It only took a few years to build this marvelous status between 1926 and 1931 and has starred in many films all over the world even to this day! There’s definitely a need to get a selfie in front of this big guy if you ever find yourself partying with the carnival in Rio!

95 – Breitachklamm, Germany

If you head down to Breitachklamm, Germany, you will find some truly marvelous sights to see. This is basically a massive canyon that has carved some amazing landscapes and with the weird and wonderful little wooden bridges and walkways that lead along the lengths of the ravines, it definitely takes some courage to do this little hike on a Sunday afternoon if you have nothing better to do!

With blue waters rushing through the cracks and beautifully carved rock, it’s just as beautiful as it appears scary, and definitely deserves its place on this list!

96 – Trevi Fountain, Italy

We haven’t visited many fountains on this list but we thought that it was definitely about time that we took a closer look at this beautiful masterpiece, situated in the district of Trevi in Rome.

If you want to know the trivia – it was created by an Italian architect called Nicola Salvi, and the person that completed the build was Peitro Bracci. It’s been around since 1629 and was recently renovated in 1998. Known to be one of the most famous fountains in the world, it is also the largest Baroque style fountain in the world, and when you look at the sheer size of it, you can appreciate all the beauty it has to offer.

It’s about 80-90 feet tall. It’s also over 160 feet wide. That’s pretty big for a fountain, don’t you think?

97 – Disneyland, Paris

We know this is more a kids attraction than an adult one but there is something to be said for this simply magical place. Situated just twenty miles east of Paris, you will find a place that enchants big kids and small kids alike, and with all of your favorite Disney characters walking around, this could almost be heaven!

The place covers almost five thousand acres, which is pretty impressive when you think about it, and not only is home to the golf course, a couple of theme parks, an entertainment and dining complex, shopping places, dining halls, and many hotels, it also has every Disney setting that you could possibly imagine in one way, shape or form.

This really is the coolest place on earth!

98 – Bonifacio, Corsica, France

This place is pretty cool. First of all, it’s near the sea and everyone loves a vacation by the sea. Secondly, it’s in France and let’s face it; everyone loves France. Thirdly, it has Mediterranean weather. This means that you will more than likely catch a tan. Lastly, there is an actual fort that is quite literally hanging off the edge of the cliff, and it is a pretty impressive sight to see, that’s for sure!

There’s a whole ton of history going on here with findings from the prehistoric period as well as Roman and Tuscan time periods too. It really is a lovely place to go if you fancy something a bit Mediterranean, and with more than a few activities to keep you entertained, you are all bound to have a good time!

99 – Corinth Canal, Korinthos, Greece

This might not be one of the most breathtaking sights that we have featured on the list of 100 Most Beautiful Places in the World, but we feel that it deserves a place nevertheless for being totally cool.

This canal actually connects to different bodies of water – you have the Gulf of Corinth on one side and the Saronic Gulf that is set in the Aegean Sea. It separates one of the islands of Greece from the mainland Greece itself, all because of the water that cut through this massive rock, and because it is too small for most boats to get through, it doesn’t really serve a purpose anymore. With the first building work attempting to cut the channel through the rock beginning on this great canal back in 1AD, it has great historical importance and is a super cool place to visit if you ever get the chance.

100 – Scuba Diving with Whale Sharks, Thailand

We realised that we managed to fit in 100 places in the world that were considered beautiful, and not consider anything cool with animals involved. Well, aside from the crazy creatures that you will see on your journeys around the world, of course.

We decided that it was time to get physical with the weird and wonderful creatures on our planet and what better way than swimming with tiger and whale sharks in Thailand?!

There are plenty of places you can head towards if you fancy a spot of whale fishing, but if you want to find the really big stuff – the proper impressive stuff, you are going to need to head towards a place called Richelieu Rock or Hin Daeng and Hin Muang. These are the two hotspots for swimming with whales!

Of course, it’s not just whales and sharks that you will see in the depths of these interesting waters. You could find the odd manta ray here and there, and of course, you’ll be enjoying the beauty of the crystal clear and beautiful blue waters around you. What more could you possibly ask for?

We are now coming into the third part of our series, and what an exciting adventure it is sure going to be! We’ve already seen great burning holes in the ground, beautiful waterfalls, amazing Indian palaces and shining lights in the sky… What else could our amazing earth possibly have to throw at us?

51 – Great Blue Hole, Belize

The Great Blue Hole is a beautiful sight to see either from high in the air or deep below the crystal clear and beautiful blue waters. It’s basically a huge sinkhole just a little way of the Belizean coast and is part of the Belize Barrier Reef System in the Lighthouse Reef, which you can actually see from space. Just so you know!

If you like water and diving, you definitely need to check this place out – many people actually believe this should be known as one of the wonders of the world. It even became a National Heritage site back in 1997.

Diving into this amazing freak of nature has been called terrifyingly beautiful and is something any adrenaline junkie or lover of water should check out! Have you guys ever been here? Did it look as good as it does in our heads?

52 – Hotel la Montana Magica, Huilo Chile

Check this place out! Doesn’t it look just like something out of Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit? Cute and back to nature are definitely two ways to describe this pretty amazing landmark, and it’s definitely intriguing!

A hotel set in a pointed mound, you can see windows poking out from beneath a deep green flurry of plants, with tree top canopies for you to brave yourself up against, and a pretty interesting idea of interior design!

You have choices from different styles of rooms and there is even a “bunk-bed” suite which we were pretty impressed by – who didn’t love bunk beds when they were younger?

The whole of Venice is a beautiful sight to see and is definitely one that deserves it’s place on the 100 Most Beautiful Places in the World.

It’s the city of love – who doesn’t want to come here and fall in love on the scenic and peaceful gondolas or enjoy wandering around aimlessly, looking those amazing street views and indulging in a bit of shopping? It’s an interesting place and a beautiful one too and is the perfect setting for a romantic mini-break.

There’s a couple of places that you should check out if you ever get the chance – the Rialto Bridge on San Polo is a beautifully designed bridge, and you’ve also got the Basilica di San Marco if you want to see something religious and truly breathtaking. There’s plenty of museums and other activities to do while you’re here so technically, you’ve got a little something for everyone.

54 – Great Barrier Reef

If you want to see something truly beautiful offered by our little gem of a planet, you should definitely check out the Great Barrier Reef for your next vacation. Just like the Great Blue Hole in Belize (number 51 on this list) you can enjoy amazing views from the air or even under the water with activities such as snorkeling, diving, fishing and boating here – who knows what weird and wonderful sea life you could spot here?

Did you know that the Great Barrier Reef is actually the world’s largest coral reef system? There are 900 islands scattered around here as well as almost three thousand individual reefs, and when you spot the out-of-this-world sights that you can see here, you will soon understand why this place has also made it as a National Heritage Site.

There are so many beautiful sea creatures here that snorkeling and diving is a must-do activity! You can take cruises in glass bottom boats if you aren’t a fan of being in the water, and if you want something a bit higher up, you can always take a helicopter flight.

New Zealand is such a beautiful place full stop and if you are going to come to this picturesque country, you simply must visit Cathedral Cove in the Coromandel Peninsula. There is a naturally formed archway hidden in the Cliffside and this gives a beautiful view of a standalone rock that sits in the crystal clear waters. The white sandy beaches certainly help things along nicely and it is the perfect spot for a romantic mid-afternoon picnic and a cheeky dip in the balmy waters.

56 – Shifen Waterfall, Taiwan

Situated in the Pingxi District of Taiwan, you will find twenty-meter high waterfalls called the Shifen Waterfalls, which not only spans the 20 meters or so wide, but also has a width of around 40 meters, making it a pretty impressive waterfall!

You can get pretty close to the waterfalls for great photo opportunities, especially if you follow the specifically laid out pathways that encompass it. It has naturally formed itself into a horseshoe style design and because of this, it has been nicknamed “Little Niagara”. It might be much smaller than the real thing but it does look fairly similar.

It’ll take you around four hours to complete the entire tour of the Shifen Waterfall, but it is well worth doing so if you come, make sure that you have enough battery in your camera, enough memory cards for the many photos you are guaranteed to want to take and also have a pair of rather comfortable shoes on!

57 – Flower Fields, Holland

If you have nothing planned from the end of March through to early May, you should definitely head to the Netherlands for an explosion of color that you simply won’t find anywhere else. You’ve got pinks, blues, yellows, greens, purples, reds…. You name it – you will find it here and the views are simply incredible!

It all kicks off with the crocuses that bloom at the end of March. The smaller tulips and daffodils will generally come next in April, the hyacinths and larger daffodils will follow from the middle of April to the end of the month, and the larger tulips burst into an explosion of color for the rest of the season.

There are a couple of places that you should head towards to get this view in all its glory. There’s a place called the North Sea Dunes and you will find some amazingly colored fields in this area in the middle few weeks of April. The province of Flevoland is also a well known hotspot for the flower festival.

58 – Antelope Canyon, USA

If you want something big, bold and beautiful then you need to head back to the United States of America. To be more specific, you are going to need to head towards the Navajo near Page in Arizona.

Antelope Canyon is the most photographed slot-canyon in the whole of the American Southwest and just one peek at this amazing place will show you what kinda thing we are looking at here.

Years of flash-flooding and erosion has caused the beautiful markings in the magnificently colored stone and at certain times of the year the area is still prone to flash-flooding so always make sure in advance that it is a good idea to come here. August has been a bad month for tourists before – the Lower Antelope Canyon sadly took the lives of 11 tourists in a crazy flash flood.

59 – Eiffel Tower, France

Everyone knows that Paris is the city of Love and if you are going to visit the city where passion is all around you, there is no way that you can leave before you have had the chance to visit one of the most visited tourist attractions in the world – the magnificent Eiffel Tower.

It stands at around 325 meters tall and you go up it if you are willing to pay the price! It is known to be the world’s most-visited paid monument! All you need to do is take a look at the romantic films, stories, backdrops, music videos, etc. have been including this famous landmark in France and you can understand its romantic appeal with many men and women choosing to propose to their loved ones either in front of it, or on one of the tower’s three levels.

60 – Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia

You can find this amazing National Park in Lika-Senj County in Croatia and it’s not like you could miss it – not only is it the largest national park in Croatia, it’s also the oldest national park in Southeast Europe.

You’ve got so much stuff going on here from the stunning waterfalls to the beautiful scenery, the crazy wildlife that seems to be all around you and plants that you have never before seen in your life. You know all those kids books that you read about adventures in woods with cliffs and caves? Well they could all be set right here at this amazing backdrop in the Plitvice National Park.

61 – Tianzi Mountains, China

These majestic mountains in the Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve re so high, they are often covered in a c loud of fog which gives them a rather eery appeal. They odd shapes of mini-mountains and stunning valleys, their 1,260 meter high peaks (at the highest peak) has plenty of photo opportunities, and with the odd scattering of waterfalls, caves, small forests and a variation of wildlife, not only does it look mysterious but there’s plenty of things to do while you’re here.

For those of you that want to do a something a little scarier than trek through a mysterious set of mountains with scary looking caves and forests, there’s the cable-cars that you can take to the tops of some of the mountains. Are you ready for the view?

Also known as the Rose City because of the colors of the rock that the entire city seems to have been founded from, Petra is one of the most amazing sights to see on this planet, and also has a lot of history and religion surrounding it, meaning that it will be a significant place that you would have viewed in your life.

It could have been started as early as 312 BCE. This could be the oldest place on earth that you will visit. How cool would that be?

As you can see from the picture, the city is literally built into the rock with ornate entrances that it must feel so scary to walk through! The narrow passages that you get to walk down are outweighed by the beauty and significance of the place, and your camera must have enough battery to get you all the way around this beautiful yet large place.

63 – Twelve Apostles, Australia

If you’re ever in Australia, try to head to Victoria to a set of limestone stacks called the Twelve Apostles. Originally created out of sea erosion, there are many myths surrounding their existence also, making them a fun and interesting place to visit and on top of that, there is a danger element at the same time.

Back in 2005, one of the stacks collapsed and out of the twelve original stacks, still stands eight of the odd columns. It’s okay when this happens though as the clever people have predicted that the current cliffs could easily be eroded in the same way as the original limestone stacks, so it is likely that the same formation of rocks will continue to occur, and hopefully will continue to make the Australia landmark as popular to tourists as it is today.

64 – Great Wall of China

Running along the old and historical Northern borders of the country of China runs a wall that was painstakingly made out of stone, wood and rocks, some sections of which were initially created in as early as the seventh century BC, and were first believed to be protecting an empire.

As time went on, the individual walls starting meeting together and this is where the wall as we know it today was starting to form. Now it’s just collectively as the Great Wall of China and is a landmark that not only can be seen from space, but also has visitors to flocking to it on a yearly basis from every other part of the globe.

As you can expect from its age, some of the wall is starting to fall into disrepair but for the most part, it is still in pretty good condition when you consider how long it has been standing there for!

65 – Devils Pool, Victoria Falls, Australia

If you really want to feel the thrill of swimming on what feels like a pool set right on the edge of the earth, Devils Pool is Australia is definitely the place for you, and you can see the magnificent Victoria Falls while you are there!

This natural pool of water which basically acts as a swimming pool can be dangerous for those that choose to swim outside of the designated safe swimming areas which are simply and easily sign-posted. Since 1959, 17 deaths have been reported here and although there are common sense issues to bear in mind here such as the fast flowing water over volatile rock passages, there are also ancient curse stories that it is always fun to find out about. For example, the ancient Aborigines suggested that the pool would disrespect those that disrespected the pool. Various incidences that have happened here seem to suggest that this could be the case with a story of one man kicked the plaque within the pool and then being sucked in and drowning at the exact same place that a body had literally just been recovered. It’s a chilling story – would you be brave enough to swim in the Devils Pool?

66 – Pyramids of Giza, Egypt

Another manmade creation that has made the list of the 100 Most Beautiful Places in the World and we come to the most magnificent creations that are the Pyramids of Giza. It is only when you are stood at the foot of these enormous rock formations that you can really get a sense of their vast size and in comparison, it can make you feel like a very small part of the world at that precise moment in time.

You can find the pyramids on the outskirts of Cairo, and as well as having the luxury of being next to the three great pyramids, but you can also check out that Great Sphinx cat that you see every now and again on the internet.

There are many conspiracy theories as to how these pyramids and formations created from work were places and built, but no one will really know for sure how these great landmarks came to exist. You must also bear in mind that there are actual pharaohs buried within these great sights, brining a great sense of history to the occasion.

67 – The Dead Sea

The Dead Sea or “Sea of Salt” as it is otherwise known is a very special sea and although it might not look like much in some of the pictures that you will see from here, it has some pretty super-cool properties.

The high salt content in this water means that you will literally just happy float, bobbing away on the water; unable to sink because the salt wouldn’t let you.

Situated in the Jordan Rift Valley, there are a couple of causes that may have been the cause behind the pretty super-cool properties, but as for what really happened to create it, no one really knows. The good thing about it is that it has now been known for its many health boosting properties that it offers. It doesn’t matter what your problems is whether it’s a skin condition, a nasal problem, a bone issue… whatever it is, this place can apparently help fix it.

To be honest, we are just as excited as floating in that salty water as we are to experience the healing properties. That’s just an extra bonus, right?

68 – Meteor Crater, Arizona, USA

Time for something really out of this world now and we come to an actual massive meteor crater not far from Flagstaff in the northern part of the Arizona desert. This cool place is home to the largest meteor crater ever discovered on our crazy planet, and is meant to be around fifty thousand years old. That’s pretty impressive, right? Also, scientists have dated the soil and stuff in the earth that far down in the meteor crater and have found evidence of rocks that would have been formed over 265 million years ago!

You’ll need to pay a small entrance fee if you want to go and see this massive sight, but it has been turned into a tourist attraction with the American Astronaut Hall of Fame, a gift shop, movie theatre, and even observation areas. You can even go on a guided tour!

69 – Loch Ness, Scotland

There is something going on in the waters of Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. It’s a big lake – it’s very deep (almost 300 meters at some points) and spans 2.7km at its widest point too. It might not look like much but there is something legendary about this lake… Apparently it has a monster!

The Loch Ness monster is what has made the place as famous as it is all around the world – the second largest loch in Scotland which could actually comfortably hold the BT Tower in London standing up and you still wouldn’t see it, contains more fresh water than all of the rest of the lakes in Wales and England put together. Could it also be home to a monster?

It was in 1933 that the monster of Loch Ness was first “spotted”. Since then there have been numerous reports of people seeing strange things in the water. The description of the monster seems to change with every report that is made of a sighting and even though people have looked, nothing has ever been found in there apart from some pretty impressive species of fish. There have even been films made about this supposed monster too!

70 – Crescent Lake, China

This beautiful lake is actually a desert oasis, situated just 6km south of the city of Dunhuang, Gansu Province. It’s a truly beautiful sight, especially if you have been travelling all day in the hot sun, and really stands out from its desert background.

Unfortunately, over the years, the lake has shrunk. Back in the 60’s it was around 7 and a half meters deep but at the last count in the 90s, this has shrunk to around 1.3 meters. The government have thankfully taken matters into their own hands and are refilling the lake in a bid to keep its true beauty alive. If you want to see this beautiful place in the world, you might want to head there soon before global warming takes it away completely!

71 – Leaning Tower of Pisa, Italy

If you are ever in Europe, you really must come to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, just to laugh at the odd construction behind the leaning landmark. The building of this beautiful bell tower took part over 199 years and they still couldn’t fix the leaning problems! It was actually built in three stages and because the ground was too soft on one side of the tower, the foundations couldn’t support the rest of the weight. Over the years it kept tilting and although it has been partially fixed and stabilized to make it safe for visitors and tourists to travel up the almost-300 steps to the top.

72 – Ayers Rock, Australia

The real name of this massive landmark is Uluru but most of us will know the Australian place of beauty as Ayers Rock, situated in central Australia. The closest town is Alice Springs so if you head towards this way, you will be heading in the right direction but you should bear in mind that the town is still 450km away by the road.

You’ll need to buy a pass to come to this massive rock formation but once you’re here, there are plenty of things to do. You can go climbing which is one of the attractions most popular activity, but the locals request that you don’t as the place is said to have significant spiritual undertones. They won’t climb the formation but they won’t stop you from doing it. The government that owned the massive rock gave it back to the people but agreed on a lease so that they could keep it as a visitor attraction and agreed upon a deal so that people could still enjoy climbing around it.

73 – Sistine Chapel, Vatican City

This chapel is not only one of the most breathtakingly painted places on the planet but it also holds so much in the form of religious history that you can just feel the buzz about this place as soon as you get in the vicinity of it. It’s the official residence of the Pop so, as you can expect, the place is incredibly luxurious and using the word exuberant would be an understatement!

It’s been painted by some of the most famous artists in our history including Michaelangelo, Pinturicchio, and Sandro Botticelli, making it a place that you definitely need to put on your bucket list!

74 – Monument Valley, USA

If you head to the state lines of Utah and Arizona you will find a part of the Colorado Plateau that looks pretty impressive in the horizon. You will find Monument Valley, a cluster of butts made from sandstone that have made an odd sky-scraper-looking piles that you will have seen in many movies.

The National Park that the Monument Valley is set in is called the Navajo National Park and as long as you pay a small access fee, you can go on a drive that spans over 17 miles that will take you a good two or three hours to complete. There are guided tours that you can take as well to see things like Hunts Mesa and Mystery Valley…

75 – Vasco da Gama Bridge, Portugal

In the capital city of Portugal, Lisbon, you will find a bridge that looks as if it were too bit to have ever been created by men. It’s a cable-stayed bridge that goes across the River Tagus, and has been open since 1998, making it one of the newer places that we have incorporate into this list of beautiful places on earth.

Although not especially beautiful in nature, you definitely need to marvel at its greatness – the size of it is actually scary to look at whether you are on it, looking at it from the side, or even scarier than that – looking at the great expanse it covers from above!
