What to Wear to a Rock Concert

Dressing for a rock concert might be a real challenge for someone who usually wears floral dresses and business suits, but there is nothing impossible and even if you are the most feminine woman in the world, you can still look like you belong even at the toughest rockiest concert. All you need to do is follow our recommendations, so here we go.

1. Know your subject.

What kind of concert are you going to attend? Where will it be- outdoors or indoors? Will you have seats? Are you going to be in the fan zone? Learn all these things beforehand, so that you could dress accordingly and look appropriate. For instance, if it is outdoors, dress according to the season, but do not overdress, as all the excitement might make you feel hot and sweaty. In case the event is indoors, you can put on something lighter and more comfortable.

2. Choose your bottoms.

Rock concert is not the place to impress, it is a place where you should let go, that is why, forget about your fancy shape jeans and go for loose cut or boyfriend jeans, in case you prefer to wear denim. If you are a true rock fan, I am sure you might have a pair of comfy black pants to wear to the event. Leather leggings are a great choice for a cooler weather, but a no-no for a hot summer, as leather tends to stick to the skin. Yes, you read it right- wearing a t-shirt of the band you are going to see is just so uncreative and unimaginative, that you should leave it to the rest of the audience. However, wearing a shirt with the band lyrics on it made with your own hands is not only acceptable, it is highly recommended. So if you are a true fan, spare some time and create something memorable and distinguished.

4. Accessorize safe.

Although some might say that excessive accessories could be a problem for a crowded rock concert, we suggest you let go and accessorize. Of course, it is only reasonable to leave large bulky accessories behind, because something like a large ring can cause injuries if you get overexcited in the crowd, but there is a bunch of other better options. Braided, fabric, wooden bracelets are great for a rock concert, as their being close to your skin will prevent any injuries. Rubber bracelets and choker necklaces would also be a good choice. Try to avoid long loose necklaces as they might get broken, and long dangling earrings to keep your ears safe in the excitement of your favorite band performance.

5. Choose a small purse.

Purse often is a problem at these concerts, as it has to be always close to you and thus might prevent you from truly enjoying the show. Unless you have to take extra things, try to fit your phone and your money in the pocket, but if you don’t really have good pockets and do not want to risk losing your precious possessions, choose a small cross body bag, which will comfortably hang without stopping you from dancing and lifting your hands in the air. Make sure it is solid and won’t get damaged at the concert.

6. Shoes are vital.

Shoes are probably one of the most important part of your outfit. Let’s start with what you should definitely avoid. If you are going to a rock concert, say no to high heels and flip flops. Neither are comfortable for both standing up for hours and for dancing wildly. You don’t want to end up with feet so sore that you can’t walk the next day. That’s why, sneakers are your best choice. They will keep your feet protected from others stepping on them and will let you feel at ease and comfortable. In case the event is outdoors in a cooler season, choosing a pair of boots is also a good idea. Just make sure these are not new boots and you feel quite comfy in them.

And the last tip: keep your makeup simple. You will get quite hot and sweaty at the rock concert and you don’t want to end up with makeup smeared all over your face.
